Problem with spurs and the reason they'll remain a small banter club is their obsession with Arsenal. They literally use Arsenal FC as a measure of their success. Very weird and a disgrace for a club and their supporters to be obsessed with their neighbors.
As an Arsenal fan, I don't see Tottenham winning this game even if they decide to play their best football. If we end up 2nd, then everyone would see just how much we pushed for the title and if by some chance City drop a points and we win the league. It would be a wonderful achievement for us.

I remember Ian Wright saying after we came 5th the season before last that there are some very good players waiting for Arsenal to make the champions league. And he was right, as soon as we got champions league we went and got Rice. And Rice has made a massive difference to the floor and ceiling of this team. If the recruitment strategy is sound Champions league money and pulling power makes a huge difference to attract players. without champions league we can't go for an Isak, or a Bruno Guimares. The long term goal of playing in the CL, acquiring significantly more funds than Europa, helps the team acquire better players. They already have a penny-pinching part owner in Levy. CL funds would help splash more cash on targets and it doesnt matter if they get rolled over in the CL. For a team to develop, they have to compete with the best to learn. Thisbis what Arsenal have done this season in the CL. We knew we arent good wnough to win it, but we pushed our team to go as far as they could to gain that European experience.
Spurs fans are too small-minded to see why Ange doesnt care about the banter-trophy. He knows in order for the club to move forward, sacrifices such as seeing your rival win the league at the expense of your own temporary embarrasment, is more important if that means you qualify for the CL, which is the bigger picture. I would accept the banter and my rival laughing at me, but deep down I know my club's long term success is more important. Even rival fans know this but they would stretch the banter against their rival out of spite.
Ange should be commended for his pre-match comments because this is the type of mindset i would want a coach to have in order to progress. Spurs fans are used to failure so they cant accept more banter from a rival, especially if they shoot themselves in the foot. The best way to get back at your rival is to succeed. Success stsrts with the right winning attitude and mindset.

I hate that sort mentality from fans when they say “yeah Villa deserve the UCL more than us & I don’t want us to be in the UCL cos we’ll get slaughtered” so basically you would rather see your team play against teams like RB Salzburg, Qarabag and FC Basel on a Thursday night than watching your team olay against clubs like R. Madrid, Inter, B. Leverkusen and you don’t want your own team to attract better players?
