I do these things daily!! I wear scrubs 4 days a week. It’s hard to look chic when you are a nurse but I make sure my scrubs look good, my hair and make up (very minimal and easy make up) are done, and my nails are polished. Also after the Covid lock downs I started wearing some jewelry to work. On the days I don’t do my hair I have head bands that I wear. I match my scrubs, nails, head bands and jewelry each shift and watch my posture. I feel so much better and I can care for others better because I feel good. This may sound fussy but honestly I get ready in 30 minutes each morning (nails done the night before…..polish drying drops are the best😂). These tips work!!!! Also the routine is so important. It’s a anchor when things get crazy.

Thank you Lydia for this video! I’m in a self reflection / self improvement phase right now and I think it would be so good if you did a deeper dive into the habits you learned and implemented from the books you’ve read and how they have changed your mental health and outlook on life. That’s a loaded request, but thought I’d share in case you’re for it. Much love 💕

Lydia, I use your RUclips videos to help students dress to impress for interviews, your videos resonate well with 18 to 25 year olds in the College where I work. The term to be ‘ polished and put together’ is the mantra I try to push for students who are more interested in fast fashion instead of dressing to look elegant and classic. Being well groomed, clean, not showing too much flesh and standing out from the crowd in the right way. You have a lovely way of putting your message across that never sounds condescending or patronising, many thanks!

Great video as usual. Strangely I had noticed a slight change in your more recent videos. You seem a bit bouncier, more cheerful and smiling and as if you are having fun. I do think positivity is the key - look on the bright side (although difficult at times), be grateful for what you have rather than always wanting more, count your blessings. It’s taken me years to realise this!

Hello! 😊 Great advice, especially the first one. I immediately recognized myself and realized what I've been doing wrong. I have a question about outerwear, specifically long coats and trench coats. Most photos and videos show how to style coats and trench coats, and they are often shown unbuttoned because they look better that way. However, in real life, when the weather is cold, we wear them buttoned up, and they don't look as nice. We can unbutton them when the weather is good, but we don't need these items in good weather. It seems like we are buying something that either doesn't give us the effect we want in terms of appearance or is another non-functional item. Please show up how to stylishly wear long coats and trench coats buttoned up for autumn and winter. Who better than you can do this? 😊

To add to your tip about minding posture and body language, I would like to add a comment that I came across years ago: you can tell a person’s age by the way s(he) gets up from a chair--we should rise as spryly as we can and make the effort, the older we grow.
Your book suggestions are top-notch. I have read some of them and since we are on the same wave length, will pick up the others, too--many thanks.

To tie that type of scarf it's hard to explain without showing but ill try dont hang it around your neck from the back put it backwards around your neck with the ends over your shoulder then put a loop in the middle of the scarf at the front of your neck keep your finger in it then you bring the ends cross over at the back then bring each end around to the front and you put them one at a time through the loop you made like a dicky bow make sure you fold your scarf thin before you start hope this helps someone oh to fold it ypu fold the square in half into a triangle then you kind of fold it around an inch and half two inch over and over until you get a long thin scarf then the ends look nice and kind of pleated
