As for the ceramic brakes, they apparently don't last that long on the track. They produce a lot of heat; pads and rotors get thin pretty quickly on these cars. They last as long as iron brakes, and given one rotor costs more than four grand, it seems like a waste of money. At service, they check the mark on the rotors and weigh the rotors and if they are under a certain level, they have to replaced. I've read some guys that also track the M3s have gotten Max 20k miles out of CCB's. However, ceramics will probably last very long on a street-driven car and definitely produce way less brake dust, if any.
The M3/M4 with carbon brakes are a blast on track. Did the 2 day M School last year and just pounded those cars for two straight days on Thermal. Lots of fun
Haha I've been saying BMW's make you drive a lot more aggressive on the streets . I feel like it's due to the steering/road feel and confidence the car gives you which makes you do stupid/aggressive shit haha.
Mahic408 I told myself when I got my e92 335i I wouldn't be a dick...its so hard not to lol She just fuckin GOES and it's hard not to let it get my head that I'm quicker than 80% of the cars out there. I do cruise and chill drive with her 90% of the time (long commute), but that last bit is only a small push of the pedal away lol
Idk I'm seeing more aggressive driving/hooning in AMGs , BMW drivers a quite sensible where I live.. maybe I'm just out at the wrong place, at the wrong time... who knows?
well, once you grow it, we can then get on your channel and post comments like: "Must be nice to be able to hoon a car around a track and not worry about buying the tires and brakes."
but for now, you can just be very grateful that at NO COST to YOU, you can Enjoy watching someone show you how NICE it is to "hoon a car around a track and not worry about buying the tires and brakes"...
Really enjoyed this Track One Take; was really waiting to see the stock M3 6spd taken close to its limits. Matt you really drove that car properly and enjoyed that slight oversteer spin out! The sound of the M3 with bass was pretty amazing.
While others beat me to the punch and I really enjoy Matt's videos, come on bro, wearing Rolex GMT Master while you promo Vincero which doesn't even have Citizen's Eco-Drive technology in it? :s
In the beginning there was a lot of hate for this car. It seems as time go on people are coming around. Time will tell if it is regarded as a future classic M product.
Love the cloth seats. Nice to see non-leather options in premium cars. Seems to be fast, but personally would rather an E36/E46, if just for the sound. Or with current gen cars, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadfrifoglio.
I have a stripper manual F80 M3 almost exactly like this one, only option is adaptive suspension. Still 100% stock, if I remember correctly the MSRP was around $65k.
Still running Super Sports? Michelin have replaced the SS with the new Pilot Sport 4S. Their naming conventions are stupid but the SS was basically the Pilot Sport 3S, nicknamed the SS. Just replaced my second set of SS with S4S's and they feel remarkably sharper. Recommended.
when I first replaced my super sports with the 4s I did notice they gripped better while hardly warm, and when they were warm I did notice the superior traction but the difference in performance isn't that revolutionary... that was up until I drove my car in rain. it was then that my mind was blown. the 4s provide sooooo much better traction in rain than the ss do and so far they last longer too.
Christopher O'Grady I've done almost 8k miles this summer alone and my rears are down to about 50ish % ..my fronts are still at like 90% & this is with pretty aggressive driving most of the time. Very satisfied. At this point I can still floor it in 1st gear and it still grips and rolls out & this is when I'm running lower maps on my tune at about 400 wheel torque, 275s in the rear tires (rwd car) I have noticed however in the colder mornings the grip isn't like it used to be and I have to drive it for a good 15 minutes or so till they've really warmed up, this is at 8 degree weather Celsius which is 46 degrees Fahrenheit.
Boosty boost I did some quick research and apparently the falkens are horrible, bottom of the barrel tires and very out dated. Terrible in the wet, very noisy too. They do seem cheap though, clearly for good reason. what makes you like them?
Christopher O'Grady thanks for the feedback. The bimmer has 18's and there are still not PS4S in this size so debating whether go for BMW-spec PSS or wait till next year for the new PS4S tires.
3:50 until 4:00 What would an automatic transmission do here? I feel like it would upshift but then need to downshift not long after... Or are the automatic transmission out there smart enough to shift correctly in that situation?
That's a great video, and a beast of a car... Don't like the noise, but it probably wouldn't put me off... I'd like to see how that compares to a Camaro SS-1LE on track (even though it's priced like a ZL1-1LE).
Really happy to see you on a track rather than pushing cars around on the public roads. Very cool to see you setting a good example (I'll try to avoid your street videos just to keep this feeling alive lol).
I must be getting weird ears as I get older, because the audio clipping for me is pretty noticeable. But nobody else seems to have an issue with it. Other than that. great vid as always.
honestly i couldn't even finish watching this video... his driving was soooo bad.. and after all your experience on/off track and you still drive like this Matt Farah? c'mon... obviously you aren't Chris Harris, but jesus dude.. that was just hard to watch.. and everyone just keep rambling about the stupid watch... Are we (Christian Roman) and myself that noticed your shit driving?
Just thinking Matt, I think it be cool to add some lap times to compare to other cars since u have been doing the same track a lot.. also if u could have a go pro for ur gauges up front....either way I love ur videos
What people don't seem to understand is that you're not just paying for a fast car. You're paying for a fast luxury sedan. Everyone knows you can make any car quick with the right amount of money.
In my opinion you should have camera gyro stabilisation off when mounted to a car. It turns the opposite way to where your eyes would go and feels weird.
Did the E46 came with a lot of luxury features too in its time, or was purely an enthusiast car? Most modern cars come with a lot of stuff that I don't really care
Matts hand placement, and both hands on the wheel REALLY went out of the window in the BMW .... does that come with the car when it is delivered? Bad example Matt ... I should pull your ear for that!
It seems like BMW changed the standard car a lot over the life of the F80, a lot of reviewers hated the non competition models. Knowing you'd be at the track, I'm surprised you weren't in a competition package car
The watched look really nice clean men design. I like it, just if they have the same cases with some inexpensive automatic ETA movements, still very good though, as the quartz Citizen is still pretty good, it would be awesome! Very nice car too, awesome car, and I understand why Matt wants to slide it a little, drift a bit, instead of clean cutting the corners every time. You are not in a real race for positions, so why not drift the beemer now and then, this car is good for both:)
Hi, Matt. Can you recommend a Vincero watch for my balls? I want something with a bold look that gets noticed in the locker room, yet comfortable enough that I can wear while playing tennis or sailing. Does the band breathe well?
Hungover Matt commentary is best Matt commentary.
19:05 "Oh I know that guy"
Matt owes him money. jk.
lmao.
Dude wish I knew you were at gingerman
Best One Take in a while. Really fun to watch.
I like the "VINCERO" watch your wearing when you drive the m3,looks like the rolex model !?
Its the the Vincero Explorer 2!
Lmao I always skip over the commercials but man that that camera man joke @0:45 had me laughing so hard I'm glad I actually watched it
19:04 "oh I know that guy!" 😂😂
These M3s have grown on me so much. E92 and E46 are still my babies, but this car is definitely a beast.
As for the ceramic brakes, they apparently don't last that long on the track. They produce a lot of heat; pads and rotors get thin pretty quickly on these cars. They last as long as iron brakes, and given one rotor costs more than four grand, it seems like a waste of money. Not enough people appreciate the 335i.
Mahic408 it's not just BMWs, it's any fun car.
same for me, the BMW gives so much confidence when you drive it. In my 320ci e46 M-Sport, its not the power but the handling for me. I simply love it.
Idk I'm seeing more aggressive driving/hooning in AMGs , BMW drivers a quite sensible where I live.. maybe I'm just out at the wrong place, at the wrong time... who knows?
Must be nice to be able to hoon a car around a track and not worry about buying the tires and brakes.
maxxjett films I am sure it would be. You should start a RUclips channel, grow it big and do the same.
boofighter that's the dream, have the channel, but the grow it big part is hard.
well, once you grow it, we can then get on your channel and post comments like: "Must be nice to be able to hoon a car around a track and not worry about buying the tires and brakes."
U R NOT ME lol! That's true!
but for now, you can just be very grateful that at NO COST to YOU, you can Enjoy watching someone show you how NICE it is to "hoon a car around a track and not worry about buying the tires and brakes"...
4:14 was so scared that he was gonna go off road for a second there
Nah, that's how you take turn 5 at Gingerman. It's earlier and faster than it looks. I've passed SO MANY there who take it too slow.
Lol, he said he rocks the vincero but we see him rockin his rolex gmt for the past two weeks. Lies my nigga, lies
lmao
I guess someone hasnt had their coffee to see the joke. We all know this was just an ad so he gets paid, dont be anal
yep, fair call..
😂😂
Might be old videos though
Really enjoyed this Track One Take; was really waiting to see the stock M3 6spd taken close to its limits. Matt you really drove that car properly and enjoyed that slight oversteer spin out! The sound of the M3 with bass was pretty amazing.

Pabs S lol, facts bro! Was smh as well 🤷🏾♂️
Plus quartz movement? Ewwww.
yup lol :(
Blah blah blah. Cars dude
greg black seriously why tf people even paying attention to the watches lol
In the beginning there was a lot of hate for this car. It seems as time go on people are coming around. Time will tell if it is regarded as a future classic M product.
Audio setup with the windows down ---NAILED IT! Glad you got that sorted out.
Matt your videos really share how cars FEEL and I love that
MANUAL > AUTO
But nothing wrong with a fast automatic
Normal people > manual purists
RtdXyron if you lack a skill you're not greater than ... dumbass!
Jdm uncle ! *MANual
DCT is much better
Lukestersim :3 it is but not mechanical enough for me
Love the cloth seats. Nice to see non-leather options in premium cars. Seems to be fast, but personally would rather an E36/E46, if just for the sound. Or with current gen cars, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadfrifoglio.
Why not an E90 if just for the sound?
Because an E90 does not sound as good as an E36/E46. Also, a BMW V8 is just a thinly veiled disguised German bomb.
but the Alfa only comes with that vaginal automatic, not even a dct. The m3 simply has superior transmission options.
Alfa comes with a manual in Europe. Would import it. [Also, the Alfa auto is, as far as autos go, fantastic.]
ChaosphereIX I think that a small displacement high reving V8 sounds fabulous.
The audio is spot on great video Matt!
Matt, your audio setup is killer. To have open windows on a track for this quality is amazing. No problem at all.
lol love that you share everything you shoot (or at least it appears that way!)
Fun watching you track the M3. Got the semi-drift session in there yohooo.. Sweet car.
I have a stripper manual F80 M3 almost exactly like this one, only option is adaptive suspension. Still 100% stock, if I remember correctly the MSRP was around $65k.
I recently sold my GTR and ended up picking up an F80 M3 and i must say that i am insanely impressed with the car.
Is it that good I have 335i 2011 M
Thinking about getting f80
Comes in hot several times, LIKE A BOSS! Didn't die. Well done good sir! :D
I feel like I want to have Matt's job.. but I'm willing to put in 0 effort for in it. Best solution: win in lottery and fuck youtube
you'll be waiting for a while
skirne - i won 50 bucks on a scratcher yesterday.whooo!
Matt's insta makes hard to believe he genuinely recommends Vincero watches
I might start looking at these newer M3's as my next car.
wasn't expecting a video today, nice surprise :)
Hey Matt, thanks for the video! Loved it
19:04 Dude in the background points and says "Oh, I've seen that guy. That's the..."
"I suck....okay....I'll calm it down"......Love this video
This might be the most Matt has ever pushed any car. Im impressed, looks dangerous at last.
Brilliant pure driving video
Drove it in a true BMW fashion!
i am addicted to the Drug M3 (manual) but i don't want to get rid of it
coz i'm loving these kind of addiction far better than anything in the
world
I see that Blink-182 on the center screen, haha.
Good Morning my Fav Channel!
Damn those Hondas sound out of control 9:44
The S2000 sounded good though
MIKEK3NT Best soundtrack of the video. Wish he hadn't passed it.
Until it blew up :/
Mzn T This ain't f1 😂
Laugh all you want but when those rice cookers lap faster than a 80k track car they be laughing at you
Really enjoyed this video and the car also.
Damn I would never imagine you doing Vincero watches advertising
You should call the video, Matt is having a blast in a manual bmw M3 .
Track one takes are the best one takes
Still running Super Sports? Michelin have replaced the SS with the new Pilot Sport 4S. Their naming conventions are stupid but the SS was basically the Pilot Sport 3S, nicknamed the SS. Just replaced my second set of SS with S4S's and they feel remarkably sharper. Recommended.

LegendInThaMakin I was only getting 8-10k miles out of the Super Sports, let's see how these last

I've noticed for quite awhile now that windows down doesn't seem to really matter on audio, it's been good
I bought wireless lavaliers so when I have to drive very loud cars or use windows down on track I run those.
Hi Matt, can you do a C6 RS6 sometime soon? Would love to see you flog a tastefully modified one. Cheers
No C6 RS6 in the US
We don't get most of the RS models in the states.
The RS7 is essentially the same car in the USA. The car is great but it's very heavy and terrible on a track.
calzz5757 He said C6, the RS7 is based on the C7
3:50 until 4:00 What would an automatic transmission do here? I feel like it would upshift but then need to downshift not long after... Or are the automatic transmission out there smart enough to shift correctly in that situation?
I'm asking about a situation where the car doesn't have paddle shifters.
These cloth seats look amazing.
Cannot wait to buy one of these cars ... have never driven a stock one lol but I hope I can find a very clean stock one to start from scratch
Hey Matt, just curious, what's ur best time at Gingerman , and in what car? Thank you for the great video!
Bought a Vincero, it's fine for the price, just like the style. Also the M3 sounds better than the competition, except for the C63.
mdtrx z the M3 is probably the worst sounding car of its class, and while that's not to say it sounds bad, it's competitors do all sound better
You know when Matt says unnecessary things like "whippin and flippin the yams" he really loves the car lol
Matt, great video. You should try filming the pedal box especially with manual cars. I think people would enjoy that.
Talented driver...talking while driving that hard isn't easy!
I appreciate you not editing out that over rotation.
I would advise you to install a rear view camera when doing track. That way people can wave at you once you passed them.
God damn, thats a beautiful car.
good stuff .......love the every guy driving
That's a great video, and a beast of a car... Don't like the noise, but it probably wouldn't put me off... I'd like to see how that compares to a Camaro SS-1LE on track (even though it's priced like a ZL1-1LE).

A real treat hearing that s2000.
"Wow, I can smell that one..." sounds like my flight home the other day after a night of copious drinking...
I must be getting weird ears as I get older, because the audio clipping for me is pretty noticeable. But nobody else seems to have an issue with it. Other than that. great vid as always.
slow is smooth and smooth is fast Mr. Farah
honestly i couldn't even finish watching this video... his driving was soooo bad.. and after all your experience on/off track and you still drive like this Matt Farah? c'mon... obviously you aren't Chris Harris, but jesus dude.. that was just hard to watch.. and everyone just keep rambling about the stupid watch... Great video.
@6:43 Civic points by and doesn't track out at the exit ?
Matt you look great! Keep it up - mike
next one take you should try mixing up the angles when you walk around the car to make it a bit more interesting
Did the E46 came with a lot of luxury features too in its time, or was purely an enthusiast car? Most modern cars come with a lot of stuff that I don't really care
And it sounds like it wants to be a v8. That's depressing
I love the watch on the cameraman
After a day on the track and road...would you still say the ///M 3/4 are better than the equivalent AMG overall?
the letter which makes me Loving every single day
How are the ceramics vs steels for a lot of track use. do you have to replace pads / rotors often?
Doriftu - drift
Sabowei - subway
Matt playing blink 182 hell yeah!!
Matts hand placement, and both hands on the wheel REALLY went out of the window in the BMW .... does that come with the car when it is delivered?

$70k for a new M3 is nuts! I'm so jealous! I wish they were that cheap here. :(
BEAVIS Motorsport buy a used one.
BEAVIS Motorsport they are 120k in Argentina and the m5 is 140-150k :(
You can get a base one for 60
How is 70k for a car cheap?
relativity
11:47 I spit my drink onto the keyboard
cloth seatrs only in the US in europe you can get leather or alcantara
"See me at Gridlife Atlanta in August"
Posts the video after Gridlife Atlanta in August
as in optioned cloths seats and carbon brakes but no comp pack?
17:36 what is that Fit doing there?
GRUNGE ERA!!
The watched look really nice clean men design. I think you found out how spiky that car is when you drift it :p
Flippin the yams. Whippin and flippin the yams
Great Track
Hi, Matt. Can you recommend a Vincero watch for my balls? I want something with a bold look that gets noticed in the locker room, yet comfortable enough that I can wear while playing tennis or sailing. Does the band breathe well?
Leather seats, three pedals and ceramics for me, please.
mousiee7 I wish it was possible to get full leather dashboard with cloth seats. That'd be the perfect interior
Matt can you please test drive the BMW M140i
Not available in US
Blend line? What blend line?...
Are carbon breakes necessary? ?
15:13 move That Dope 😂😂😂
