Todays self cleaning ovens will eventually overheat the circuit board. The repair man warned us never to use it and just clean manually. But we figured out a hack. We cover the panel with foil and aim a fan at it while it cleans itself to keep the heat to a minimum. So far so good. Been 3 years.

Working in a restaurant, i knew a couple of these, but so glad i watched this for the rest! EXCEPT bacon grease theow away. At least bury it by a tree, but if you eat bacon, that stuff is great to cook with. Pipcorn, burgers, as buttsr on garlic bread grilled cheese, etc.
Thanks for all the other tips. I thinj my grandmother and mother used some of these, but when i was growing up, boys did not learn to cook, even when we begged. Again, thanks.

Bacon grease should never be near a drain unless you like paying plumbers to unclog your pipes.
I keep all bacon grease. A fried egg cooked in bacon grease os awesome! Used to cook greens, fry a burger in bacon grease. That grease is white gold!

Most of these, I though were common knowledge, knew the lettuce one from years working in the food industry, same with the eggs and a few other ones but he does have a gem here and there that I did not know that are actually really helpful!

I put my eggs in a pan and select a lid that is a little too small, one that fits just inside the rim
of the pan. I heat an ounce or so of water in a coffee cup in the microwave, and after I have
the eggs already going, I add some of the hot water and you can see the eggs steam up and cook.

If you slowly pour the left over grease , lard into a stainless steel bowl it automatically melts and solidifies the block each time without cracking the container ( vs glass )
Filtering through a sieve , paper towel or cloth can be a good way to capture larger particles

Bacon grease is good as gold! Don’t throw it away! Store it in a container; use some every day. It is actually good for you and gives your food a wonderful flavor. And use your burger meat drippings to put over a little food for the neighborhood feral cats every couple of weeks and they will keep the mice controlled and off your property!
