- The new Thomson Nature Park has a novel roadway animal detection system to help animals cross the roads safely, as well as future plans to conserve wildlife in Singapore.
The Thomson Nature Park was officially opened to the public on Friday (Oct 11, 2019) it serves as a key conservation site for the critically endangered Raffles' banded langur
Formerly known as the banded leaf monkey, these animals native to Singapore have white rings around their eyes and a body of black fur.
Shy and elusive, there are only about 60 of these primates here and they were discovered by Sir Stamford Raffles almost 200 years ago.

This 50-hectare buffer park is unique for its rich cultural heritage as the site of a former Hainan Village. It is also home to a rich array of biodiversity and is notably a key conservation site for the critically endangered Raffles’ Banded Langur
If u want to clock distance, u can walk from Macritchie, windsor, Upper lower pierce, casuarina eat prata then to Thomson, around 23km, me and my 12 yrs old done twice.
