Fact check! Locals did not self-proclaim Singapore as a "Little Red Dot" on our own merely because of its size. In 1998, the then Indonesian President Habibie first described Singapore as being no more than "a little red dot" out of spite! Singaporeans have since come to embrace that nickname.
I visited Spore on budget, don't be tricked by this video. You can easily have a nice representable hotel in Chinatown and the Hawker centres, scatttered all over Spore offer very nice Malaysian, Singaporean dishes . Enjoy !!!!
I was born in Singapore many years ago, into a very poor family. Fast track 70 more years, I can now afford to visit Singapore and would usually stay at a Marina Bay Sands suite. From there I could see Clifford Pier, near where I used to fish and it brings back a whole lot of memories.
I find expensive hotel staff pleasantries to be phony. You arrive as a guest, you leave as a friend and you return as a family- meh. You're paying them to be nice to you, thats all.
I traveled to Singapore on the Ultra wealthy budget of the United States Government. Met and hung out with a lot of oil workers and locals, a very beautiful place. You gotta check out the port where all the boats come in and out…like something out of a movie.

Few weeks ago, on CNA, a Singapore TV show, there was a documentary about old folks dying alone at home 😢 a man said he doesn't close his front door, only the secondary metal frames door, just in case he die, people can discover his body sooner 😢
It's on my bucket list. Every travel vlog I watch on RUclips leaves me excited and astonished by just how much cool, interesting, delicious and aesthetically gorgeous stuff is on offer in Singapore. I lived for so long not having any idea. Now I know, I will HAVE to go to this fascinating little corner of the world.
Raffles Singapore was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. Excellent service and hospitality. The Singapore Sling at Long Bar was a little overrated. The Gin Sling, tasted much better….suggest by our host when I was there 😎
Most Singaporeans go to the Marina Bay Sands once a year when their employer throws a company dinner. We arrive early to walk around for free and that’s just about it.
As a Malaysian that moved to the United States for a while now, I will be flying back to Singapore and Malaysia soon and I can't wait to explore Singapore. Planning to make a bunch of videos there as well, it's such a beautiful country! AND of course the food! Malaysian/Singaporean food are the best! (I am biased :D)
for the hotel man who said you come back as 'family' if it is like 'family' I am not coming back for another 10 or 20 years. Family brings too much drama. I don't want to spent 10,000 dollars a night to have someone cuss me out.
Visited Bucharest few months ago on a business trip...well...small Paris is closer to a dream than to reality. 😂 Buildings lacking maintenance, no cycling infra, huge traffic jams, awful public transportation (especially the trams are SOMETHING 😅). There is a potential but you are far far away at this moment.
I visited Bucharest last October and fell in love. It truly is the safest city in Europe. And so much English! Many fast food places had English titles with Romania subtitles. Most people under thirty speak some English, which came as a shock. I spent the most civilized night of my life at the fountains in Bucharest. I will return.
lol 😂 no way I’m eating an undercooked pigeon. Singapore 🇸🇬 is well worth the visit. But I can also imagine a lot of tourists that visit there are stretching their budgets.

I visited Spore in budget... With lots of Hawkers, you can experience a lot of Malaysian/ Singapore food for cheaper than cheap. Everything from chicken to fish
As someone who used to live and workm in SG, you cant be tricked into this crap. Whch is why a lot of people go broke, except for Singaporeans. The only expensive thing in Singapore is accomodation. Evrything else like bus fare, train, groceries and food and affordable. A Singaporean said to us bfore, in Singapore, you dont need to spend more tha n 10 SGD in 1 day. I think as of today, its 15SGD. THat already includes your bus/train fare, lunch and shop around for a nice iced cold drink
The only thing remotely interesting in that itinerary was the boat in the end. The rest of this hilariously boring and not far different from travelling elsewhere except for more air-conditioning. It says a lot, for example, that the only person interviewed who actually dresses for the weather here is the captain on that ship.
This is the first time I'm hearing of the show "Crazy Rich Asians" and suddenly I'm reminded why I haven't watched television for the better part of ten years.
Singaporean here. Whatever is at Sands is bad taste. Look at the shops from a little distance for a better perspective, they all are tacky. Real Luxury is one that isn't store-bought but made bespoke.
Whats the big deal? If you spend US $5000 a day even in Rwanda or Somalia you will get the same first class ultra lux treatment and service like Singapore. To a person like me who has this kind of budget to blow, I value personalized service and unique experiences more than luxury cars, wine, dine, hotels and shopping. Example: I was staying at a former Maharajas palace in India. Saw a painting of his family in traditional Rajput wear. In 24 hours, the palace arranged a tailor, portrait painter and photographer to have my family dressed up in similar suits, jewelry and clothing. In 48 hours the tailor made the items ready and we had a family photo shoot, portrait and jewelry. Palace also arranged a convoy of 4 horses, 2 camels, elephants and a royal entourage. Thats is exactly what people like me look for. Unique, meaningful luxury experiences not available anywhere else.
