Just installed a 146-460-11 in 2008 Sierra with 6.2 along with PORTED and Polished L92 heads and ported L92 intake. Comp had a cam shoot out but didn’t test the 285 LRR-H13 . The 288LR Made 550.7 with a 6.0 with STOCK L92 heads. So I’m curious to know a ball park Hp number
At 2:52 he was really wanting to say, so basically this comp cam is better everywhere "except below 4000rpm". He just exaggerates once per video on average. 😀 I am glad he or someone does these videos honestly though. I personally think the the mid 220s duration mid 500" lift 113-115 lsa are the best 6.0 cams for street strip
I’d really like to see the VVT cams. I have a 189-424-14 cam. No more 230s/240s cams before a high teens/ low 220s duration. Show us the torque increase a slightly smaller aftermarket cam can give.
In this exact configuration with the comp cam could you run a 1.72 rocker without risking piston to valve clearance? Thanks for making these videos! I’ve watched a lot of them several times now LOL
Hello Richard congratulations for your videos... See a question when you place the camshaft 54-469-11, with its springs that indicate, in a stock lq4 engine with 823 heads... My question is it does not hit the valve on the piston?
I have the comp cams 54-454-11 in an all forged 370ci ls , cnc ported rec port heads, with billet wheel s480 96x88 1.32ar borg t6 turbo. Just getting all the little pieces now to drop the engine in . Will this cam make power in a turbo app? Will have all supporting mods. Mostly race but some street duty. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to put either a 54-454-11 comp cam or a 54-469-11 cam for a 6L LQ4 . Is this a good option for this motor ? It has 317 heads on it . What can would you use ? Thanks
Any luck bud I have the same motor did you ha e to change pushrods I have the exact same thing as you I just don't want to fuck my block up if you have any information it would be a great help bud thank you
Richard, how would this cam do on a 10:1 408. I'm running a vs racing 80mm t6 with 1.32 ar and looking for a cam that will pull up to 6800rpms. I noticed this cam kind of fell off up top but as u mentioned it is probably contributed to the intake. Another question, I know the tbss intake flows great for what it is but at what point is it a limitation? Is it typically a restriction on a 400+ci LS?
So I’m new to the ls world. I’m getting an lq4 And plan on getting 823 heads I’ve been watching your videos and wanted to get the comp 54-459-11 cam with 26918 springs I was thinking about running an aluminum intake short runner plenum Also wanted to boost the engine down the line. Would that setup be appropriate?
Any recommendation for upgrade 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD w 6.0? LQ4 motor, 4psd auto. Already have KN air intake, planning e fans n shorty headers. Want more torque n power for towing. Don’t mind but if rough idle, but needs to be steerable. Thanks
@@Speed_Shed They started with an LY6 which has different heads and higher compression than an LQ4 but cams were similar, I think. LY6 is rated at 364 hp/ 383 tq. Still not sure how the throttle body change and injectors would get them to 443 hp/467 tq.
@@atrain2672 I was trying to figure out how they got those numbers from the LQ9 but I have almost the same set up on my L76, I did the DOD delete with a new cam, milled and PP heads, 1-7/8 headers, have a custom tune but I can't get anywhere near those numbers? Maybe I need to get new pistons with valve reliefs to make those numbers. Maybe even aftermarket heads?
Why does the dyno chart only show output from 2500+ rpm? Can the dyno not load it down that far? Or is there another reason? A 6 0 ls with a stock cam will pull from half that speed. Considering the amount of time daily drivers spend below 2500 rpm, torque below that speed is important. You are comparing your cam to a stock cam, after all.
We are not planning to test a competitor's cam on our channel.... However that would be a very aggressive cam for a truck, and would lose a lot of torque and response.
Christoph Madl you can by grabbing a corvette LS1 cam. Aftermarket doesn’t have the emissions restrictions to comply with. OEM would be what you’d need from the vette
For a 6.0, if you want max torque you might actually want to consider staying with the stock cam and going to a looser converter in the 4L80e. If you want to gain a good amount of torque and a lot of midrange power the 54-452-11 paired with the 26906CS-KIT spring kit is an excellent option and (with a good tune) will really wake up your 6.0!
@@Compcams1976 what about the 54-451-11 cam? how does that react on the 6.0? AND YES I'm probably in the market for a cam right now...... I have to drop the oil pan first so i can look up at the cam, but i think i have the early stages of a failing lifter after changing my oil today, even though it runs fine and has no weird noises

You'd be amazed at how well most sub .600" lift cams do in mostly stock 6.0's! People often forget how important midrange torque is.

They would most likely have a similar 25 ft lb increase just lower in the rpm range
I have nearly the same comp cam for my 6.0 with ported 243s. I hope it makes over 500whp
Any update on your setup? I have similar like yours 6.0 with 243 Stage II cam. I was told I might be in the low 400 bhp.
Well what did the 243 heads motor do
Hey Rich, can you guys run test on a lq4 6 liter with ls3 heads, ls3 intake, with ls3 cam? 😁
We need it

And that's with factory heads? And what fast injectors? Thanks for giving info bro.
Yes, more information on this reply
Any piston to valve clearance using that Comp cam on a totally stock 6.0?
Also did you replace the retainers and locks when you did the valve springs? Did you just buy a complete kit or was it springs only?

Baldilocks be getting it done
Was that comp cam with a sock 6.0 other than what you mentioned?
Do you think power would be similar with a .615/.615 236/242 on a 111lsa in this engine??
Do the headers rob the stock cam of bottom end torque?
Have you ever tested the xr275 hr Richard on a 6.0?
What is the best headgasket set to use?
Needs more hand gestures.

Yes try emailing comp for some questions

550crank
Tsp f 35 stage 4 cam would like to see that in a lq9 or lq4 6l no one has videos on it is that because its ls3 cam or just don't run right ?

What fuel is being used with this test. ? Pump gas? Please need info lol
@Comp cam is it a whole kit to this cam like push rods springs and seals

How bout a truck cam for a truck motor
Cams for the 6.2 engines please
We have tons of LS3 options!
Wow
Turn up the volume.
556 split duration cam with anti pump up hyd lifters
The valves didn't hit the piston with the comp cam.
But that is a rough idle why not show a small comp like a 212/218 for people that want smooth idle
Take a look at one of the videos we just posted, it compares mild to wild cams from the same series!
Now put a 250 shot on it
That’s rectangle port heads or cathedral port?
JadXtreme 08 came 823 heads which square port
I would've just kept the truck cam ... stopped there.. thats VERY streetable with hot rod power.... torque is king for the streets
You're not wrong. However, people swap these motors into all sorts of vehicles, for all sorts of reasons. Hence why we have tons of cam options!
