You should have the Baseball canon from Smarter every day essentially pitching to a super bat, an 1000MPH ball getting hit by a bat spinning at 500MPH, would result in the ball getting hit really, really far, maybe go for a distance WR? Would be fun to see 😂
Well scientifically speaking, you are more likely to break the record the slower the ball is going. It takes less of the energy the bat is creating to convert the kinetic energy of the baseball from energy going toward the bat to energy imparted by the bat into the ball going the other direction.

I imagine someone must've said this by now but I can't find it so, just in case: what makes a steel mild is a low carbon content, and so it tends to be a bit more malleable than high carbon steel, which gets used in things like blade making because it can be hardened to better hold its shape (in the case of a blade, better hold an edge).

On a walk one day, found a wire fence, oh, that's easy to climb through. As my head hit the wire, I felt this huge thump as if someone had smacked me on the head with a baseball bat, but then the pain vanished almost instantly... It took about 3 seconds to realise there was no baseball bat and that it was the fence that hit me lol

Incase anyone wants to know, velocity is distance divided by time in a specified/ determined directions. It's a vector, and all vectors have a known direction (which doesn't always have to be stated in the formula).

Fun video as always! Made me look-up mild steel (a small amount of carbon, enough for some strength but cheap) - so I learned something as well.
Did you look up Velocity , which is speed , in a given direction.
If you did not know , or look it up , then you maybe you now learned something else 😂
You guys should use that metal framework with the gnomes to set up a speed trap and measure the ball speed!
For those wondering, the only difference between speed and velocity is the former is a scalar, and the latter is a vector, in lamens terms velocity has a direction while speed is just how fast something is moving.

You need to make a giant pick axe so the transfer of force is much more concentrated, you spoke about this when trying to break things with the mega dart but you couldn’t aim the dart however with a pick axe you will know where it is going to land every time

If you're referring to the first hit on the first few minutes, it 225m or 738ft..not 200ft. Cheers.

Gongs are notoriously brittle. Which is why in an orchestra, the percussionist will subtly "warm up" the gong by rubbing it with the mallet to set it to vibrating before giving it a hard strike.
Just a quick answer to any wondering. "Mild Steel" is referring to the the carbon content of the metal. Mild steel is a low carbon metal in comparison to something like Cast Iron which is high carbon metal.
