Thanks so much for this excellent video. Was the perfect fix for my 2015 4Runner. Unfortunately after I spent $1,300 at the shop (didn't fix the problem) and another $650 on 4 O2 sensors and a MAF sensor.😆
On my 2007 FJ I have been fighting a P0158 code for 3 or 4 years, and approx $3500. Bank 2 sensor 2 O2 sensor has been replaced (assuming that bank 2 is passenger side) 6 or so times. The bank 2 exhaust manifold was replaced with aftermarket header for 1 year then I took it to Toyota and the replaced it with an OEM manifold, and new sensor 2. Unclear as to whether they replaced Sensor 1, I assumed that they did. They wanted to replace the Mass air flow sensor, but it had just been replaced. I have since replaced the Mass air Flow sensor and B2-S2 again. I have it up on stands now looking to replace Sensor one myself to save money. (Looking for a video on how to reach it- May stop and try this first) Any insight?
@@bundysgarage these aren’t supposed to sit flush up to the nut. There is supposed to be a gap between the nut and valve cover plate with a little thread still showing. You do not bottom these out flush. If you see in your video before removing it you’ll see it’s not flush but still a little threads showing.
My Tacoma does not indicate any signs of an oil leak, nor oil burning. But, I am losing 2 qts. oil every 2 weeks. I don't know if Why and the 2 ACE Factory trained mechanics say they can't figure this out. Question:. Can a defective PVC Valve cause this?
My Toyota Tacoma is a 4cyl. 2011 with 245k mi. This is the only problem I ever had with my Tacoma. PVC Valve has never been changed to my knowledge and I do not do maintenance myself. I leave that up to professional mechanics who I have to put my trust in their training, experience and expertise.
@@jimmatzek5895No signs of head gasket leaking. There is no signs of any sort of leak. I never heard of any car or truck not having a PCV valve. Jim, there is no tail pipe smoking and no signs of raw oil leaking from the tail pipe. There is no water not coolant in the crankcase or n the. Dip stick. I need help?
The pcv valve is one of the most over looked components on a engine 🤦♂️i recommended to all my customers to change it at least every 6months. It will prolong the engines longevity tremendously👌
Replace every 6 months seems a little excessive... than again, they are cheap enough. I added an oil catch can. Should the pcv valve fail, less chance of vapour making it back into the engine
several mechanics ACE Types, say that my 2011 4 CYL Tacoma does not have a PCV valve. I do not under- stand that. I have never changed the PCV valve, because no mechanic has ever told Me that I am supposed to change it. I have over 248K miles on my Tacoma and it recently started losing oil without any signs of leaking nor burning. There is no tail pipe smoke nor leaking. There appears to be no engine burning of oil (blow-by). Not a drop on the garage floor. What the hell is Causing oil loss?
You should have a 2TR-FE 2.7 liter engine. If so, the PCV valve will be located at the back of the valve cover on the passenger side. It points at the firewall. It basically screws right into the valve cover at the back of the valve cover on the passenger side. Be careful when you replace it, the valve cover is plastic so don't over tighten the PCV valve
I just have mine venting to the atmosphere, where the hose connects to the intake I just blocked off that hole and got a longer hose so it just vents to the bottom
Thank you my brother! I will be replacing mine tomorrow.

Thank you for this. For the record, the service manual for a 2016 4Runner states 20 ft-lbf for the torque on the valve.
Thanx again
Love the intro song - sounds like meshuggah.
Also thanks for the video
Great video. Detailed and very informative. Thank you.
VERY NICE AND DETAILED VIDEO.
Thank you. Well done.
Thank you for the tutorial.
what was the symptoms of the engine .. thanks

What damage to the engine can a faulty pcv cause?
Excess pressure from the crankcase can cause seals to rupture and leak. Seals on crank, valve covers, etc.
Do u really need a new hose ?
Doing one on my moms car and I’m not replacing the hose
I tightened it as much as I could and it’s not sitting flush will it be ok?
If it’s not sitting flush there’s something wrong. Make sure you didn’t cross thread it.
