    I like the first one a lot, because you can build it anywhere with very little materials. The dvergr stairs are great, but they *DO* require exotic materials (more than just wood) to make, so for an outpost or a teleporting spot in a pit or something, the other stairs work really well. I also *REALLY* like the second and third stone stairs, because I love building in stone and I like being able to run up and down them at full speed.
    Nice stuff man. Appreciate the video :)

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Stone is one of my favourite things to build with too, I just wish there was more stone components available, hopefully we'll get some in the future!

    Like that second and third one quite a bit. Love the wood/stone joint buildings.

    Looks like the devs took inspiration from several languages for Grausten. It's a combination of the German word for Gray, Grau, and the Swedish/Danish word for Stone, Sten.
    Nice stairs! Think I'll try to tackle #2 and #3

      That makes a lot of sense! It’s very literal in a non obvious way and I can really appreciate that. Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed 🙂

    They've added a function where you can change the snap point too which makes it easier to get some of those corners to snap (I think Q and E on original controls?). Try it out, it will make those difficult snaps a lot easier, and you can build 2x2 boards in a line without risking falling from 10 meters with 25hp :D
    Previously saw a wooden variation on the stone 5x5 stair. Hoping it works with black marble but afraid the arches are going to be in the way. Yours makes more sense, more durable if you're hit with a raid. Do the wood-iron poles get damaged by AoE attacks even when covered?
    Can't wait to get grausten (gr-"ow"-sten, as in "ouch," or just Greystone if you prefer, pretty sure that's how it translates).

      I definitely need to experiment more with the snapping options, I’m a bit stubborn and have stuck to the old way of doing it with auto snapping.
      I’m not sure if wood iron poles get damaged when covered to be honest, if I was to guess I would probably say that they do, but that’s only a guess, don’t hold me to it!

    That first staircase looks like something that you can't build until later biomes, but you can do this right away in the meadows. Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you! I really appreciate it. I did try starting a playthrough of the game in survival but I didn’t get very far. I might just have to do a second attempt at playing through it, keep your eyes peeled! :)

    There are shallow grausten stairs too. They are just hardly noticable on the list

    • @meancuppajoe
      @meancuppajoe  3 месяца назад +1

      So there is! I’ve even looked at them several times but didn’t clock that they were the shallow version because they didn’t specifically say shallow. My bad for not paying attention I suppose

    1 is brilliant, the rest are too compact to be smooth save 4, which isnt a staircase anymore 😜

    • @meancuppajoe
      @meancuppajoe  3 месяца назад

      Clearly I was obsessed with the word smooth that day! I meant that it was fairly fluid to walk up the steps without constantly getting caught on them. Also, I think slopecases can technically be staircases? Otherwise SHHH, nobody else noticed 🤫

    16:20 how about ashwood? or hasnt it been in the game yet when you were making this?

    • @meancuppajoe
      @meancuppajoe  3 месяца назад +1

      To be honest yeah I made pretty much all of these just before the Ashlands update, but when I actually had time to record it Ashlands had just been released.
      The Grausten stairs at the end was more of a last minute thing I had come up with that just barely made it into the video.
      I will undoubtedly make another staircase video at some point, so I'll make sure to add one or two that include some Ashwood 😀
