Thanks for the video. I’m awaiting my Q4 e-tron 50 in the UK. Ordered in July. I don’t think I’m going to be disappointed by the performance when it eventually arrives!
Judging from the license plate this is an early dealer car that came with 360 camera hardware, but because of the lack of software none of those cameras work. I am in the same situation with my early Q4 50. Hopefully an update that will enable 360 and much more is just few weeks away.
Thanks for the very informative video. This range is not bad at all for the conditions and temperature. My own EV expreience is that a small 3c - 4c drop in temperature can reduce efficiency by as much as 10%. If we normalise conditions and temperature and the fact that the Q4 it was on 20" vs 18" wheel. Then a Q4 would be around 10% - 15% less efficient than the Model Y. The Sportback version would be even closer. Not bad at all.
Please please please test MEB car with and without heat pump. I ordered Q4 45, I have 1-2 months to update the order. Is it worth 1 000 euro? Not even Bjørn made this test. Thank you a lot!
Thanks Chris for the test! Just driving my Q4-40 since few days and I wonder if you can make a video on the difference of the myaudi app between etron models. Example: seems q4 myaudi app is missing lots of functionality compared to full etron one. Would be great to see the actual delta and maybe you have connections with Audi who can give info on future developments of the software for both myaudi and car OS? Keep up the great work and content.
Yes Q4 Etron app lacks a lot even compared to my old BMW hybrid's app. In hybrid I could even set when I wanted the charge to start, in Q4 Etron app I cannot even do that.
Thanks for good video's Kris. The time you have now is so called "normal" time. In the summertime you set your clock one hour forward, and that is sadly what's being canceled from next year. So it will still be dark early both summer and winter (:
Very interesting and useful video. I just ordered a Q4 etron 45, delivering time is about 270 days (yeah). The dealer assured me that the 360 camera will available as an option on late december/early january. I will add this optional since it is, to me, necessary. Maybe I will switch to a 50 too, given the very long delivery schedule
Another good and informative video. Thanks Kris. I picked my Q4 50 last week. Mine has back camera :) but no map (Android Auto works fine so far though). It is not a bad car to drive. It is silent and powerful. The problem I have seen in the first 120km is that the estimated remaining range drops when I turn off the AC :) Sad but true :) I think the car is still trying to understand my driving profile so let's see.
Based on your numbers for consumption and distance covered, you have to subtract MORE than 3%… From what I can see in the screen, you drove 235km, your consumption was 24,5kWt/100km and you spent 80% battery. That only gives 72kWt available energy! Since theoretically net is 77kWt, you actually have to subtract 6,5%..!
Hi Kris, nice videos keep em coming :). But is it only me that have hard time accepting that 60-70% in OK range from WLTP? I have not yet gone over to EV cars because I have hard time accepting total range on EV cars " driving A6 Diesel now". Been checking next year launches of Audi and saw few impressing numbers of WLTP over 700km range for some models. Are we to far away from getting minimum 500km range " Real life numbers?
WLTP cycle is not a test cycle for motorway driving. It includes city speeds. Average driving speed is 46 km/h. On motorway you have much higher driving resistance, therefore higher consumption. New cars Mercedes EQS and Lucid Air are currently the only ones to achieve 500+ km of range with motorway speeds. Model S comes close.
Hi Kris, Having driven both this and the "Fat" e-tron (I know you did the side by side comparison video). As an everyday car which would you choose? I need to look at my next lease vehicle and am torn between the E-tron 55 S-Line or going for a Q4.
Looking forward to the fisker Ocean. Better Price, longer range, faster charging, Way better looking, built by Magna in austria. So quality should be good. Do you know anything about the Ocean Kris?
Chris, love your videos. Waiting for the X3i . Can I make a small suggestion? Hyundai is actually pronounced with a semi silent h, and then a sound the same as the first part of “young “ followed by a day . Hyundai rhymes with Sunday 😊.
Good work on providing useful comparisons between EV’s. The “Proper motorway speeds” don’t seem to reflect most European realities, though. The majority has a 120 or 130 km/h limit on highways, with some with the 140 km/h limit. And here in Portugal, while the legal limit is 120 km/h, you won’t get a ticket (or anything else) if the police radar tracks you at 128 km/h, because there is a percentage of margin to be subtracted to the actual reading. And even if you go higher, you won’t really get into any serious ticket (that takes any points of your license) until you go above 149 km/h (plus the previously mentioned radar margin). I can’t speak for Spain (although I’m told that rules are stricter there), but on several thousand miles driven over there, I can definitely see cars making long distances above the 120 km/h speed limit. Most car magazines and tests usually show fuel consumption numbers at highway by those speeds. So what would be the expected range for this Q4 at a more realistic highway speeds in these countries (120 to 130 km/h)? Cheers.
Can't wait to see the same test in summer conditions!
It will be the same as the gtx on 20 inch that got 19.5 kwh per100km
Yes finally q4 etron 50!😍

MEB needs that winter-SW update, c'mon VAG!
Audi is trolling buyers so hard with not including cam as standard. 😳

Has 170kW speed been confirmed by VWG? The last I had heard was 135 kW with ID.5 release.
Good question, I’d like to know that too
Hi Kris - thanks for the video. Do you have a link to the news about the meb platform charging speed updates? Thanks!

i still think Q4 is the best MEB platform cars

Hi! Have you received your Q4 yet? I am thinking about purchasing the 50 one but I don’t know nobody owning this car to get any feedback.

Hi! Could you upload your sheet somewhere so we can see it? :)
That spec 😍
Hi Kris, have you considered adding a highway noise db levels to your review?
I couldn't find it but might just have missed it. Did the Q4 50 in this test have a heat pump?
Good question! i want to know that too...

Bridgestone make great golfballs but in my opinion Nokian does it better on the road, nice and quiet!

Just realized your comparing a Tesla model Y long range on 18 inch wheels vs the Audi q4 etron on 20s

Good stuff keep it up
Do we still have time for a video of your reaction to Taycan GTS Sport Turismo while you are staying at the "Kris Tower"? 😄
Nice Vid! I appreciate succinct, quality content.

I recently replaced my almost brand new Bridgestone All Seasons to Goodyears. The noise level of the Bridgestones was unbearable.
Answer before watching the video : NO
Proper motorways speeds. 110 kmh. Germans on here 🤣
No backup camera? Wtf is audi thinking?
Hm, it seems a bit thirstier than my GTX (+2 kWh)
It's no longer the tallest wood building.
It’s not? What is then? 🙈
@@KrisRifa Dushan Shuisi building in China. Just short of 100m.
Dushan Shuishi haven't finished construction so not yet an official record I believe?
@@JosephGwynneJones You might be right. I just saw it listed on Wikipedia and one other site as the tallest building so I assumed it was done.
Oh please, stop your clickbait headlines!
