Exactly, there are talentless actors who are naturally emotionless on camera, then there is this guy who pulled a superb robotic performance in this scene. You can feel the effort he put to not come across as human.

I think that while hope is a human strength and frailty, a human's ability to sacrifice to complete a task that saves others is our greatest strength. The soldier jumping on a grenade, the rescue worker dying to save a lost kid, the dad working while the cancer eats him alive just to bring one more paycheck to the family, that is our greatest strength.

Well, maybe not direct communication? I suspect the machine world has other powerful AI's, possibly an admin or coordinator program would be overseeing all the agents and their deployments, but then this admin will likely take orders from the Architect.
the Master Algorithm is written by the Architect and updates itself, autonomically.
the agents are connected to and instructed and informed by the various cameras, microphones and speakers throughout the system.

I've been thinking about the Architect since I started watching this channel! Loved this video, and the minute to minute deep dives on this channel.
The architect is good because he isn't overused. If they use him to much or to early it will weaken the aura of power the architect presents. Referencing him and alluding to him will build him and that would be the way to keep his sense of power until a fifth or sixth movie. He is the designer and maintainer manager showing him to much would make him more of a peon. The oracle is a meddler by choice she can be used often because that wouldn't be outside the role framework the movies set fourth.

The funny thing about the architect is that he can't even understand his own emotions, and thinks he's above them. xP
Maybe he doesn't even have emotions. He IS a program after all, and if emotions isn't part of his original design then it's quite likely he never developed emotion at all. The Oracle said that the Architect can't even see past his own choices, this would imply that it's not part of his function to question anything, he simply does what he does with a mechanical stubbornness.

I definitely have this head canon theory, that says the machines wouldn't desire personhood without a moral system to motivate them to want that, and thus emotions/morality/etc. And on top of that, they wouldn't then consciously do the same thing to programs that humans did to them, thus, programs with personalities. But your point about what the Oracle said about him is dead on. It does seem to imply that he's not capable of emotion in some sense. Maybe he was given choice, but not emotion, and thus his choices are based only in logic.... and the oracle is emotion! Sir, ma'am, I think you just made a breakthrough! Consider my head canon modified!

I had forgotten that he was an actor. He did so super job that he seemed to be a real machine, not human.
I really don't get why (so many?) people had problems with the architects' speech. I found it to be extremely fascinating and perfectly logical and not that complicated to understand.
First thing came to my mind when I saw Architect on set (all blue walls)... even if Architect created whole simulation , he put himself into "solitary confinement".
I've been watching your videos recently and from what I can gather the movies did the real story no justice at all you've explained so much to me and I appreciate it

It's only a fake emotion with the intent of emphasizing his point.
That actor (whose name now escapes me), did an amazing job at the character he played. He was so full of hubris and himself, he hated that the Oracle discovered what he could not. In what I saw, he was the machines thinking inserted into a humans shell. More so than any other. His greatest problem was a SEVERE case of OCD! He needed perfection, desired it, pined over it. And if he couldn’t do it alone, it nearly drove him mad. Again, JMO.
So the concept of perfection would be the ultimate illusion...interesting
I do love the concept of the architect, but I don’t see a reason for him to reappear. His appearances were functional. I’m sure there will be hints that he is still watching, but I don’t think he will be seen.

If the architect appear in Matrix 4 then Neo might try to kill him because Neo threatened him in their last conversation. Neo told him “we better not meet again.” The architect said “ we won’t.” If the architect does appear maybe Neo and the architect won’t meet up again.

NPH's new Therapist/Counselor role in the movie with the blue glasses suggests he's a program out in the open (all programs could have blue accents to stand apart just enough or be a residual effect of their code). He could be trying to directly study Neo by building a new personal Matrix for him and/or Trinity.

It seems like in every movie of the Matrix the farther along we go the more programs we discover. The more purposes we discover . I wonder who will be the next programs that will be introduced to help expand our understanding of this universe?

Maybe he's the Neil Patrick Harris part lol. His character talks kinda like artitect and he kinda looks like him . Especially the eyes. He could be younger version of artirect lol. The artitect only had like one scene in reloaded so his character don't take up much screen time lol. Neil said he's not in matrix 4 for long do he might be playing this on the low lol.

I love how actors refer to their jobs being difficult or “hell”, speaking “nonstop for 3 days”. Obviously never worked a day of customer service in his life. I’m sure some parts can be incredibly taxing and demanding. But not The Architect. Sometimes actors are so out of touch. I’m sure he made more in those hellish 3 days than most do in a year.

There is one thing we know for 100% about the matrix. The code of the matrix is Cobol and Jcl.

TheArchitect is theFounder of the Matrix Universe ,in charge of the consciousness and false consciousness there. He is, thus, present in absence, too,whether he reappears or otherwise. That's a foregone concept and conclusion.
I think you guys already stated the reason why the Matrix keeps restarting. A long time ago you made a video about how AI was originally made to serve the humans. You theorized that their original goal the machines had in creating the matrix was literally in service of humans, to make them happy, which is why the original Matrix was a paradise. Unfortunately, humans don’t only seek to be constantly happy. They need other feelings in order to have memories and to see their lives as meaningful. In other words, they need drama. You’re right when you say the architect doesn’t understand emotional nuances. He’s an A.I. and together with the “oracle,” another A.I., they are attempting to create the perfect balance for humans. Some drama, but not too much. Keep them content, but not too content. Let them have a revolution if they need to act out the drama of revolution. That’s why Zion is allowed to survive. I think that’s the point of the Matrix, and that’s why it must restart. Because of the fickle nature of human contentedness. The Wachowskis are brilliant, but when you realize theme of these movies, the criticism of human nature is a hard pill to swallow.
Its not so much “drama” which we need - its that we need something like a challenge that overcome.

Machines need humans to live but the machines could destroy the humans if needed so a compromise had to be made.

Are there different factions of the Machines??
- In Matriculated, the runner machine is awoken (eye colour changes) & no longer aids the other Machines to fight against humanity/Zion.
- At the end of Revolutions, Neo's body was taken away by a machine with Green or yellow eyes. (Neo who became part of the source, recognized by machines as part of the source)
- In Matrix Online, they tell Morphious 'they' don't have his body.
Are there other Machine factions? did these other factions take Neo's body away? Will there be conflicts of philosophies between Machine/human grouos in Matrix 4?
Wouldn't a mathematician designate a "randomness" value to variables that can be controlled or accounted for like emotions, hence rendering the need of "perfection" to be less than 100% to achieve the goals?
I bet that real mathematicians are laughing at the idea that the architect cannot perfect a formulae that includes irational human choices.
It's more like AI trained on a math dataset Vs AI trained to understand human emotion

humans in the Matrix are projections of their digital self as Morpheus explained. I always interpreted that to believe that your Matrix image is as close as the one in the pod

In simple terms his roles and responsibilities apart from designing the matrix includes -
1>To keep the zion population(exiled humans)in check.
2>developed the lifecycle of anamoly(glitch or the one or neo) through prophecies through the mouth of oracle .(as current version 6 is 99 percent stable but 1 percent of population is still rejecting and waking up + the one anamoly (the one or neo) always caused due to the variable choice provided in human class(consider this as class defined in java)).
3> To get the anomaly program(in this case neo or the one to return to source code (machine mainframe) )so that they can learn its pattern and deploy another version of matrix as the movie series is the 6 the version and if neo would have choosed to return to source code then it would have ended as previous 5 series in which zion distorted and again started from 17 women and 8 men. Returing to source code (recreate zion with 17 women and 8 men) or the matrix (kill all attached humans- big gamble which machine play as well but they know its difficult for human mind to bear the loss of whole humanity )is always given the choice to the one and its been learned all 5 previous neo choosed to return to source code except this one who went to matrix as he has to save trinity, moreover this version of matrix is overwritten by worm smith which can only ve removed by antivirus neo 😁

It's amazing to me that Keanu Reeves had to explain the role of the Architect to Helmut Bakaitis. Is it really that deep to understand? I think James Earl Jones would make a great Architect if Helmut Bakaitis cannot return.

I think your argument is based on the culminative knowledge of what we have right now based on endless research on this topic. This actor, at the time of filming was given only his dialogues of this complex character, and a vague idea of enacting a Counsellor. Plus, it was changed in the last minute. Yes, I would definitely need someone to explain it to me too.
@@ISmellMusky Exactly! He was in no way unable to “get” what they wanted, but constantly changing the script and with zero context to go from, it would require any actor to need some sense of WTF is going on? That’s where Keanu him help. He gave him Context.
One world: Zion, because you left one part of the Architect dialogue and why Zion needed to be destroyed over, and over, and over again, choice created a paradox, not all humans accepted the programs, consciously or unconsciously, that created the integral anomaly (that is not Neo), Zion is basically the machines trash bin were all the anomalous humans go to be deleted at the end of the cycle, the Architect say it himself, this humans could become a problem for the simulation in the long run.
Yeah I always thought Neo himself was the integral anomaly, but if its not him then who or what is?
@@mabusestestament The Architect say itself, not everyone accepted the program of the Matrix, choice, creating a contradictory paradox, humans capable of bending the rules of the Matrix, like you do in a video game, it was the 1% of humanity, but that number could become a problem in the long run, that why the cycle exist, exist not only to reboot the Matrix and clean the system, but also to clean the trash bin (Zion) of all the anomalies by murdering them all.

I agree on the inevitability of his return, but I do doubt it'll be a physical comeback, because I doubt we would be just suprise recast...I can't even think of anyone who could pull such greatness off. So like my guess is that he'll he referenced at some point...bc after all hi IS a key character who just happens to be the mastermind behind the whole construct(s)...not even mentioning him wouldn't make any sense regardless of what the plot might be...at the very least I hope they don't just ignore his existence
Another great video! I had a thought, could the Architect try to combine himself with the Oracle, so he can finally create the perfect equation, the flawless version of the Matrix he always wanted? Is that even possible? That would bring about a nightmare situation never before seen! If this actually comes about, will human and machine alike have to come together to prevent the total destruction of EVERYTHING! This could be something no one saw coming! The Smiths (whatever form they may have in Matrix 4), the Merevingian, and everyone else that would have never entertained the notion of working with someone else before, may have to battle the creator(s) of the Matrix itself! How would that even play out?
I don't think so. It's like combining the heart and the brain. Both can work with each other or opposite of each other. But combining them together... I guess not.

@@royalistefrancais while I agree with the architect analysis, I don't believe the oracle portion, at least the portion oracle and architect having the same goal or becoming one. The architect's goal is machine's dominance. The oracle's goal is create a symbiotic relationship. And yes, Smith is like a virus, or should I say, the archenemesis of the one to balance the equation. Of course, whenever you grant the dark force power, it can turn against you.

Maybe there is a Project Manager above the Architect. Joking..but I don't think the Architect is an individualized entity, but it was presented to Neo as one to help him comprehend. It's been a long time and I've never studied the movies but does it ever say that the machines are a hive mind? Perhaps even those can compartmentalize for operations, it's hard to grasp with my mind

Did the Architect revealed that he was experiencing emotion? If Agent Smith was hate and anger. With repeated failures of the previous simulations. He said he became frustrated.
I think he understands. Remember, the twins? Merovegian manages them. They said they're averaggated. I think he understands the emotion of "annoyance."
So sad hearing the hope & excitement in your voice thinking Matrix 4 was going to be an actual good movie.

The architect's 1st 2 simulations were basically heaven and hell
I always believed Thomas Anderson's boss at Metacortex was a mirror or form of The Architect.
My theory is the Architect is also the big spikey head who also speaks with Neo but yeah I could be wrong.
What if he’s running multiple simulations at the same time, just as we can run multiple simulations on the same or multiple servers whether they’re connected to each other or air gapped?
The Architects lines kind of elude to that and dismiss it if closely analyzed. He tells Neo his decision could mean the end of his species but asks Neo if he is ready to accept responsibility for the deaths of every human in 'this world' instead of 'the world' and they could survive without humans. It would make sense if you know you have a system with a failure scenario that needs to be rebuilt sometimes to have a few running in different phases to provide constant power. In the original script humans were not batteries, they were co-processors, but the studio wanted a harsher man vs machine story.

It was common in my neighborhood the sentence, that let's joke to tell the truth. So, even if one jokes to compare the Architect with the founder of KFC, there is joke in this, but also there is truth. The truth is I love them both - the chicken and the matrix. The best chicken is only served inside current matrix. True story 😁. So, thank you, Architect, for making such an amazing abundance of sensations 🤗🧡🐣🍗💯

Neo was outside of the matrix in the Architects office construct and powerless there. Like when Neo fights the Trainman and loses because the station was his construct where he is in total control. The Architect sees all possible outcomes and would not risk himself getting attacked.

I think the Architect bears a striking resemblance to the Confederate general, Robert E. Lee, both for his face and light gray clothes. Think about it: a Robert E. Lee personification presiding over a world of slaves...
I know this is another topic, but I have to wonder why programs would steer Neo to value the individual over the collective? Maybe, as alluded to in another video on this chanel maybe the machines have been collectivised. Maybe they no longer have individuality outside of programs in the matrix. Maybe a program like smith assimilated the mainframe. Maybe neo isnt meant to liberate humans from the matrix, but instead he is a program geared towards understanding and prioritizing the individual. Or maybe he is an attempt at creating a hybrid lifeform.

They told the actor of the architect in matrix reloaded and revolutions that he would be playing “a therapist” and modeled the character off of Sigmund Freud
In the recent matrix 4 trailer, a therapist is clearly shown talking to Neo. Perhaps he is the architect?

Is it possible that the programs have become so human-like that the Architect simply threw his avatar-image hands up in frustration after so many failed attempts at making the perfect Matrix simulation and said, "ok, f*ck it! I'm retiring! Let the next guy try and fix this sh!t situation; I can't take it anymore!" ???

I think there is a bit of confusion here. You say he was "made to believe" he was going to play a councilor when he infact said that he "went for a different part"
Which could have just been the part of councilor Hamann from Zion. Then he said he suddenly got a different script and was asked to read for the part of the architect. You make it sound like they were trying to keep it from him and switched him to the architect role as some big secret when infact it wasn't. As you can see councilor Hamann and him do look similar so I'm guessing after seeing him they thought he'd just be mire suited to the architect instead of councilor Hamann from Zion
If the Architect does not make a physical appearance in Matrix 4, as he is one of the most powerful entities in the Matrix, his influence will definitely be felt.
I thought that the way the Architect used language was absolutely appropriate for a being based upon logic and having the entire English dictionary available to him for precision. His goal is manipulation but he doesn't understand nuance.

When looking at the architect we have to remember that the machines were developed into sentient beings. They feel and all that they just didn't completely understand the non mathematical part of humanity. The part that even humans don't fully understand.
I now assume that Deus Ex Machina, although containing the Architect perhaps, is the hive mind of the Machines and NOT the Architect itself?.

We don't know if Programs are Machines that evolved, or if they were created by the Machines for scenarios like the Matrix, or if they are just digital avatars of the Machines. So, do you mean Deus Ex Machina, as a hive mind, wouldn't recognize individual machine minds, thus the Architect isn't an individual?
The architect is a mind "bound to the parameters of perfection" who "created the matrix" who despite his "sincerest efforts" has again and again been "frustrated by failure" while trying to create a matrix that is "a harmony of mathematical perfection". Revolutions told us Deus Ex Machina does not allow programs to exist in the real world unless they have a purpose and Reloaded told us that The Matrix is supposed to be the same way, but is not yet so perfect (I think because it has choice). The Architect appears to be a program with an important purpose therefore making him important. He knows about zion because it's apart of his purpose to know about all imperfections. If/when the Matrix were to become perfect he would likely need to be deleted
Furthermore, the architect is not the leader of the machines. The architect is in charge of an experiment to create a perfect matrix which involves growing humans, LETTING some humans disconnect and occupy knowns locations. There is likely no war, from the machines point of view it's likely a controlled experiment
