It's amazing like you're experiencing real Star Citizen for the first time.
I love Jack. Been watching him off and on for years and he seems like a really nice guy with a pretty dangerous wit.
I've done a lot of RP gaming and most of the movement I'd do is at a normal walk because you wouldn't run at breakneck speed all day. Slowing down like that really does give you time to take it all in and absorb your environment for immersion.

I play in widescreen too. It's amazing! It's more impressive because the aspect ratio matches fills more of our FOV (field of vision) and so it's a little closer to VR without being VR. It's more immersive. Once you go wide ya won't want to go back.
Yeah the white panel is a bug. That's happening with other ships too like the ramp door of the Pisces Expedition. Should be black but it's white.

larger 16:9 display fills even more of your FOV
somehow I feel like people got brainwashed into thinking that vertical size of screen doesn't matter as much as horizontal
though covering more of fov in one line leaves more impression than more FOV overall cause the further from center of FOV the less comprehensible it is and more overwhelming,
so I can kind of understand why it feels like that to some (also using it sideways/vertically will leave similar impression, so it's not exactly widescreen it may be tallscreen as well that feels more impressive than 16:9)
Still if you have gone with widescreen I assure you it will be even better with 16:9 of the same width
Btw the most impressive is playing on projector (that's gamechanger)
The only thing I feel that I'm missing on is playing on OLED: space, stars... that screams for black that is black... though I don't feel like moving my pc to connect it to tv just to check it out... maybe if cables behind my desk weren't in schrodinger state it will be easier for me to motivate myself to do so

Just to clarify something, 4:3 was the old "standard" ratio (NTSC) or in Europe 5:4 (PAL), then widescreen appeared as a 16:9 ratio (the first time TVs had a wide aspect ratio greater than 4:3 or 5:4), starting with 720i/p, 1080p, 1440p and 4k and so on. If you are playing in a 21:9 ratio, then it is called Ultra-widescreen or Ultra Wide Cinema (because movies were often filmed on 35mm, which is wider than TV's/Monitor's 16:9 widescreen).

It would be epic to have a larger population of bandits or generally fight-able NPCs everywhere that you can interact with. I know they've put in a small amount, and hopefully much much more on the way, but it should eventually feel like Skyrim where you just randomly encounter groups everywhere rather than at small specific locations.

    • @patrickbateman69420
      @patrickbateman69420 2 года назад +1

@@rudestbeast4907 yes, the space combat is great, but good FPS gameplay and exploration mechanics are also what Star Citizen is all about for the future. They're constantly refining those other (equally important) aspects because CIG wants the game to be an incredible, all-inclusive, space sim. They want you to be able to have as much fun as possible at any scale of the game.
      It's like this:
"you wanna jump from system to system taking out high value targets, dogfighting around asteroids? We've got you covered. BUT - you also wanna explore the planets and move from settlement to settlement engaging in FPS combat against a host of different enemies? We're also looking to have that fully covered."
If they can make this game feel like an epic adventure at any scale you decide to play at, they will have well and truly 'won', and that includes an immersive planet-side experience with large populations of NPCs and combat scenarios that are akin to, for example, Skyrim. You can see that this is on the way.
It's much more than just wing commander on roids.

In Shadowrun it's called an Autodoc system. I love the Shadowrun worldbuilding. I'd love to have the system be as enjoyable as the setting.
If weather is so bad that you can't see, use your systems (artificial horizon, inclination meter, altimeter) to get your bearing as correct as you can get and slowly land. Or wait out the winds to get a better view on your LZ.
You need to hold down the trigger button to charge this sniper rifle for it to do actual damage I believe. Not sure if it's that one or another, but I believe that it's this one. I haven't used Sniper Rifles in SC because there was basically no reason to do so up until now.
I absolutely agree though, it should do more damage even without being charged up.
The medpen isn't working because it's empty. You can see that the cannister where there's normally the red hemozal liquid, there's just the casing.

I bought my widescreen just for Star Citizen ! and its so good looking because its much more similar to a realistic point of view IRL because Ultrawide screens are curved and they simulate the rounded shape of your eyes, and to have this big wide screen its much more realistic because IRL when you walking around your field of view is not in 16/9 scale... its more panoramic !!! thats why 21/9 comes so much better in the feelings !

Also, compared to No Man's Sky... NMS feels a lot more shiny, colorful, and lively than Star Citizen, I mean, look at that planet, there's nothing to do, no animals, plants.

Love the content..... If I may propose a suggestion...
When you're trying to draw attention to something like the immersion.... Nothing breaks it like over using the word immersion....
Think.... Monica from friends leaving a breezy voice mail and ending it saying... "I'm breezy"
Side note... I felt the red rage there.... Hard to know when to teach a mook a lesson... And when to just let the mistake ride....
    Keep it up home slice!

Wow, you must be the master of language. I am immersed by how immersed you are by how many times Olli said immersion. Give the guy a break, he is having fun by not knowing how immersive the game is when dedicating the whole screen to the game. Or did you miss that part ? And what is the red rage, how to teach a mook a lesson and when to let a mistake ride ? You must be the internet master of telling people how to emote themselves.

Hey olli, love your content! I've been watching a lot of your fellow creators in the star citizen community, trying to learn this game. However this game has kicked my butt from day 1, witch was about 4 days ago. I got all the necessary stuff that I thought I might need for missions. Though the next day I crashed my ship and couldn't find my body at the red marker. Then I got a crime stat (don't know why) I died at New Babbage and woke in prison. When I got out, I did a delivery mission because I got a fine for the crime stat (I guess) and had very little auec. I used what little I had to buy a crappy gun for the mission a back pack and armor piece. Got shot, spawned back at NB, went back to find my body, collect all my belongings. All is good right? nope :) left my helmet. So I'm broke crappy suit, crappy gun, and no way to breath. But I'll make a come back. Keep up the great content!

      @billywashere6965 2 года назад

Yeah this game is not like Call of Duty or Battlefield. A lot of people hop in thinking they're going to be Rambo, but it has to be played more like Escape from Tarkov or Arma in the FPS portions. I usually stick with delivery missions when I'm not in the mood to deal with the FPS tactics, as they can be quite rewarding with all of the loot you can nab from the habs. It's a good way to practice taking off and landing in the ship, practicing low flying, and gearing up for when you get ready for the bunker/bounty/mercenary missions.

The nose of the ship looks heavy to fix this they got 2 options add additional weight to the back or change the shape of the landing gear so that there are wedges tilting the ship back instead of being flat they would be slanted like a triangle which would lead to the nose of the ship pointing up... now ordinarily that wouldn't look good but due to the ship's bird like design I think in this case it would work!

I have 2x 36" vode screen monitors. I usually play in windowed on one of them and plays with my alt on my VR computer using Parsec. Works pretty well for me anyway.
AS to immersion, the first time you try out Elite Dangerous in VR you get totally gobsmacked. I WISH this was in VR, and that you had fully functional displays and buttons in the ships. That would take immersion to the next level.

Been using an Ultra Wide for 5 years and love it. Wide screen (2560 x 1080) with a regular screen (1920 x 1200) next to it. I always use full screen on the wide panel and if I stream do all other functions on the 2nd screen. I'd recommend a ultra wide to anyone thinking about it.

I was thinking of getting one but while 21:9 is getting pretty common in games it is still not perfect and its really annoying in the games that do not support it. I guess it must be even worse with curved 32:9 where the black bars are even bigger. Did you have a lot of problems with that?

right shift will lock your ships rolling so when you are in third person you can just not worry about up and down mouse movements and just land
The running is based on what direction your are running in compared to the wind
Once your ship is level when you want to land you just hit it and landing is to easy
