AMG makes the most vicious cars on the market these days. If the 911 is the scalpel, this is the jackhammer. Love it!

One thing I’ve always loved about Tedward’s reviews is how he characterizes every car he drives, whether it’s his Porsche or a little kei car, it makes ME feel connected to the car HE is driving! Thank you for making these videos Tom!
I’ve taken both around the Nürburgring. The 3RS is one of the easiest cars ever to drive fast, but in the right hands the GTR is definitely faster. The torque is just crazy!
I hope I’m able to have a proper go in this some day. It’s outrageous!
That gearbox and its programming are delicious. The super aggressive downshifts in sport+ are awesome, but the lighting fast upshifts that bring the revs down right back into the party zone are also hilarious!!

Drove a GTS and I can't imagine having nearly another 100hp on tap with the GTR. These cars are becoming the performance car bargain of all time very quickly. Plus they just make more of a statement than a 911.

I loved watching the tachometer when he gives it the beans. Just absolutely smooth and crisp. It’s just the price point which hurts me 😭

Love these videos! I am always distracted by trying to figure which roads these are. I did recognize the stretch of 90 at the start. The color is amazing. My wife used to have a GLA in a similar shade of green and she got so many compliments on the car everywhere.

The SLS and AMG GT classes are destined to be future classics. The SLS AMG Black Series will become the 300SL per say, and the AMG GTR Black maybe the future CLK GTR. Undeniable leaders in every category for their class. Personally, I hope to pick up my own AMG GT (maybe the GTC or GTS) for around $50-80K in hopefully 5ish years. Not only will I have the best super/sports car from this age, I think it should go up in value a lot too!
The mark of a nicely tuned exhaust behind a powerful engine; it sets off other car alarms! In all seriousness though, some of Maserati’s security systems were on a hair trigger. My older QP goes berserk from time to time over the silliest things. Glad to see that’s never changed lmao

Woow - nice car!! What about test driving a Camaro ZL1? Sounds quite similar. Of course less subtle... But when I drove the SS I was shocked in well. Drove the tail of the dragon with it and it impressed me big times.

The Green Monsta bad ass color and controversial looks. I would drive one but one thing that irks me is the lack of Centerlock Wheels. That is a must for R and Black Series MB gets a F for wheels!!!!

Thanks! Assuming you're keeping the car for a while I'd go GT3. I LOVE this GT R but for long term abuse I'd rather deal with an NA engine and never worry about repairs on a hot V turbo setup. I wouldn't recommend the R8 as a track car.

I love it but can you really have more fun with this east of the Mississippi than with a BMW M340i or even an M240i? I’m in Michigan and I can’t drive my stock Evo X MR without risking a ticket. I used to ride bikes and these things remind me of superbikes that you can only use 25% on the street. They end up being exercises in frustration.
The only thing I don’t like about them is the older Mercedes’ tech and gauge cluster if it had this gen for both it would be perfect
