      My wife and I have two fifteen year old boys. We are self employed in the hunting and sport fishing industry. We were going to give them summer jobs but their science teacher who is a vegan activist had just one debate with them.
      They turned vegan they made some good points with us. For example they asked how could we live with ourselves knowing that everything we have has been paid for with the blood of innocent animals.
      We realized that after they asked that question they pulled out their cell phones. So we cancelled their cell phones, took their desktop computers donated them to needy families long story short everything they have now are the clothes on their back and a roof over their heads.

It's important they have internet access or have you stopped them using your internet at home? 🧐
      Personally, I think your taking this choice of there's the wrong way, , there are many crop deaths and they are eating those crops, so are you going to take away there vegetables too? because you pay for them. Like they are a luxury, they should buy there own food.
      You and your wife are very much the intentional bigger Hypocrites here, your going out hunting and fishing harming other animals and fish yet you are against animal cruelty? Now I just stick to horse and dog races once in a while. Made money on those bets as well. We were even going to invest in partners on a horse. But the jockey wasn't too keen on using the whip, so it wasn't a winning horse. I would prefer to have a return on an investment.
      You are probably supporting human trafficking and don't know it. When you go to buy your plants you don't know if how exactly those field workers got into this country and they owe those a debt they will never pay off
      I have driven down the highway and seen plenty of dogs and cats in the rain and we just kept going.

    How to make vanilla cake:
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter two 9-inch-round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper; butter the parchment and dust the pans with flour, tapping out the excess.
    Whisk 3 cups flour, the baking powder and salt in a bowl until combined. Beat 2 sticks butter and the sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to medium; beat in the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl as needed. Beat in the vanilla. (The mixture may look separated at this point.) Beat in the flour mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with flour, until just smooth.
    Divide the batter between the prepared pans. Bake until the cakes are lightly golden on top and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Transfer to racks and let cool 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edge of the pans and turn the cakes out onto the racks to cool completely. Remove the parchment. Trim the tops of the cakes with a long serrated knife to make them level, if desired.

      Dunno if I'd phrase it that way. But being vegan is the neutral choice towards animals. Same as not being a murderer is neutral, and not being a rapist is neutral. It's a non-action. So I see it as an obligation in the same way that not hitting others, without justification, is an obligation. Technically we shouldn't even have a term. Hence why I try to focus on how everyone is a carnist, as opposed to me being a vegan.

    Interesting topic discussion on a cow vs. dog speciesism. One thing I have yet to understand about ethical vegans or vegetarians is that when a farmer goes to harvest his crops or spray pesticides on the crops, he or she is technically committing mass genocide of numerous insects. Why does a cow, chicken, or pig have more value than different species of insects? Is it because they are larger? Spend more time investing in their youth? Furthermore, if we did not eat cows, deer, pig etc. this would lead to an overpopulation of these animals anyway and they would die out eventually due to a lack of resources and famine. This is a well established concept and population equilibrium will always occur naturally. One thing we can agree on is that large factory farms in which animals are treated terribly is a big problem ethically and has an unfavorable carbon footprint. Curious if anyone has any thoughts on this.

    • @erichmyles4481
      @erichmyles4481 2 года назад +1

      No species has more value, vegans need to live also, so it's about minimizing harm. But since more farmland is reserved for feeding vegetable for animals than humans, the way to reduce those insect deaths would still be to go vegan. As for those animals dying, that's true, especially since we've bred them to not be particularly healthy. But letting them live out their very short span, and not forcing them to breed in the way we do is the more ethical choice versus breeding them by the billions to die. Vegans aren't against animals dying naturally, that'd be a pretty difficult stance to maintain lol but harming them for our pleasure isn't really the same thing.

    • @julian9794
      @julian9794 2 года назад

      @@erichmyles4481 You definitely bring up some good points. I will say though that overpopulation of a species followed by lack of resources and subsequent starvation for the animals is not a fun way to die. This is why hunting is so important in many areas as it helps to maintain population equilibrium. Overhunting can lead to poor outcomes but so can not hunting at all. However, this is like comparing apples to oranges when comparing hunting to mass-produced domesticated animals like cows. Killing and eating some of the cows using regenerative agriculture methods would help to maintain some amount of equilibrium. This still probably does not satisfy a lot of vegans and vegetarians in terms of the ethics of still killing animals but I would be interested in seeing a study on how many animals (insects) are killed from mass-produced plants such as soybeans vs. the animal life killed from not only producing the plants to feed the animals (insects) but also from killing the animals for their meat. That would be a pretty difficult study to conduct with all the cofactors and sampling methods.

    • @erichmyles4481
      @erichmyles4481 2 года назад +1

      @@julian9794 while I can hear the argument for local hunting due to overpopulation, since I haven't done the research, I don't think it applies to these animals we're eating en masse, as they're not wild animals, it'd be our responsibility to care for them until they died as it's our fault they exist in the first place. It's be hard to find that data on insect deaths, as even the soy is mostly used for livestock, and more non vegans are using it at present than vegans, but it's about minimizing harm, bugs plus animals is objectively more harm than just bugs, and if you're saying that plant farming should be done more ethically, I doubt many vegans would disagree.

    • @julian9794
      @julian9794 2 года назад

      @@CicoinTokyo777 Ah, very mature first statement. Why would humans not breed these animals into existence for eating? The nutrients in the organs and the skeletal tissue of a cow are unmatched when compared to plant-based foods. These nutrients from cows are bioavailable and easy to digest for most people. Conversely, the nutrients in plants can be hard to digest and for myself, anecdotally, a lot of plant foods and grains exacerbate my Crohn's disease. I have been able to put my Crohn's disease in clinical remission by eating a primarily red meat-based diet with some fruit, avocados, sweet potatoes, and very few easily digestible vegetables. Cows are also able to survive in multiple geographical locations year round. In most areas of the world, a vegan or vegetarian diet is unrealistic as all the plant and crop life have a hard time surviving during the winter. A vegan and vegetarian diet is only realistic now because of modern agricultural techniques with worldwide shipping. However, a vegan or vegetarian diet is not the best modality for all people as certain individuals have a harder time digesting plant-based foods and grains such as myself.

      This was a long time ago ; 40 years.
      But, this anecdotal example shows the negative power that Culture & Tradition can have on emotions & the resultant behaviour.
      It has got easier from all those years ago & your kids aren't going to be assaulted at school for choosing.
      Tradition can be changed & we are changing it to a more Ethical Tradition.

      it would be refreshing for vegans to question their beliefs too but they're too religious and emotional that they'd never listen to anything meat eaters say and agree with them because it's so bad for them to see the world in that we may need to kill animals to be healthy - it's not a world they'd believe therefore a balanced conversation isn't possible due ot selfishness from vegans!

    Everyone has a "veganism bucket", and when that bucket is filled to the top that person can then make the changes needed to become vegan. Every time they come across people who are doing vegan outreach or other people who are spreading the reasons to be vegan, that bucket gets more and more poured into it. You never know how full that bucket is for someone you're talking to. They could have an almost empty bucket, or a bucket that's nearly full. What you pour into it could be the tipping point they need for their bucket to be full and for them to finally have what they need to become vegan, or they could have a long way to go still. But either way, when you're doing vegan outreach or just talking to family and friends about being vegan, or even just posting a vegan meme, you're pouring into the buckets of everyone who sees it and hears it. It's up to each one of us to do what we can to fill up those buckets! Thank you to everyone who does their part to help others to become vegan by pouring into those buckets!

    I really enjoyed this conversation also. I like how Joseph was able to reflect and really think about his thoughts. I also like how he was able to think about what is happening to the animals on factory farms. I like how Joseph said he prefers the Mcplant burger over a cowburger which is good. There is no cruelty and violence in plant burgers. Plant based burgers are good for you also and are healthy. Your activism is very effective Joey because you really got Joseph to think about the horrible ways animals are slaughtered and how they are tortured in factory farms. It is very refreshing to hear that Joseph didn't bring up the plants feel pain bullcrap. I like this guy Joseph he is very nice and smart. He knows that animal products are not ethically sourced which is good. I hope that someday Joseph makes the change and goes vegan. You are awesome in this video as always. Joseph was really understanding and open minded with everything you were saying to him Joey. That's the thing with factory farms also is that they will try to market their lies and propaganda in any way they can to you. You can't believe their lies because it is all bullcrap. Like how factory farms say that they do free range egg farming that is a complete lie because those chickens never get to go outside and roam around ever. They are crammed in these tight cages which is sickening. Great job as always Joey. I agree also that Joey is a true legend. Keep up the great work man. And ya animals are someone not something.

    Dedicated Joey Carbstrong and Tarion Partridge and their team are exceptional at stopping people creating all the excuses to not be an animal abuser and pay for the abuse of innocent sentient beings. Typical libertarian human supremacist you respect me I respect you and then I respect needlessly taking the lives of innocent sentient beings because I love as he quoted at the end "Chicky nuggets" what an arrogant self entitled person to deny and exploit vulnerable beings just because...
