One of the great guys in the game over the last ten years. Everybody enjoyed his presence, his game and his personality. He made the finals in 29 singles tournaments - and won 17 titles. He finished the year in the top 20 seven times, 5 times in the top 10 and 3 times in the top 5. He was a four time Grand Slam finalist... and a US Open champion. His one handed backhand was such a beautiful shot to watch.
@@crypticcomputing604 Carlos is in new era, he doesn't fight with Thiem and Nadal on clay season lol. If you really want to put "ex" for Thiem, then you have to do the same for Nadal and that doesn't sound right
@robmarth2226 in trophies alone Carlos is already ahead of Thiem, including Clay. I agree with the Nadal part. King of Clay until surpassed. Carlos is Prince of Clay. End of conversation.
@@crypticcomputing604 hater, you can't even understand the context of this discussion and stick to trophy count LOL. I don't know easier way to explain what "different era" means to you. End of conversation.
Thiem faced prime Nadal and prime Novak, Carlos didn’t. Ofc he has an easier time winning on clay. I’d easily say that prime Thiem is better on clay than what we have seen from Carlos so far.
One of the nicest players in Tennis. The players because they know him well obviously echoed the same sentiment about him. Always positive. Always fighting until he won his first Grand Slam. For a heartwarming person like him, after COVID world situation didn't really help him (yes he won the USO without spectators) and he obviously lost the desire to compete. The wrist injury just added to it and took away from us easily another 5 years of his great tennis. His match against Djokovic in one of those ATP finals is one of the best matches ever. Nobody troubled Djokovic with power like that (because his shots were power + unpredictable patterns). Best wishes for whatever you do after tennis, Dominic Thiem 🍀🤗🙏🏼 Please be involved in tennis. 🙏🏼 Happy retirement!
He was my favorite player. I hope a become a fantastic trainer and does what Juan Carlos Ferrero did with Alcaraz. Despite the setbacks he has achieved what only few have reached in their career. Thank you Domi!
I remember Thiem playing big matches, he had so much power in his shots, injury killed his game, but he used to be a beast, that's all you need to know about him.
l love you playing tennis,l miss you😮 very much,l wish you all the best and have a brilliant life ❤️ ❤🎉🎉, please share your joyful moments with your fans via internet, love you from my bottom of my heart ❤
I think he didn't win all he should have won, at least one/two master 1000 more and one/two slam more but for me he has been a truly example of respect of sport and love, passion, kind to be a good person. After Rafa, and then more then Rafa, Dominic is my favourite player. Thank you Dominic, so sorry for the injury and for mental effor after Us Open win.
Sad to actually see this video even if ur not his fan. ... Maybe he got his backhand technique wrong by hitting with too much of force that broke his wrist.... Tennis and Austria lost a talent
The problem was in his forehand. Hence why his injury occurred while hitting a forehand. After his injury he was still able to hit rockets with his backhand but never again with his forehand
@@luciusfuciusexactly, i was watching his match in Vienna yesterday he was launching rocket BH’s but the problem was his FH lacks of power and depth and this is were his injury hit the most, so he can’t be competitive anymore with such mediocre FH, too bad he was going places 😢
Dommi. I love 💕 you. But injuries is a bitch. You couldn't have done better. You'll join Del Potro in that group of some of the best tennis players whose career was cut short by injuries. Hope you will be prosperous in whatever endeavor you choose to embark on in the future. 😊😊❤
For me it is never about titles... it is about love, passion, personality, art of play
Good point

One of my favorite players of all time. I hope we see a backhand like that in the future of tennis.
we will never forget prime Dominic Thiem. the first guy to challenge the big 3 supremacy
Can't believe we lost both the king and prince of clay in 1 season. New era is certainly here, but I will never forget Rafa and Domi 😭
Not to take anything from Thiem and his impact in tennis, but the Prince is Carlos. Or maybe you mean a former Prince.

Teared up a bit watching this.. i've been following this man's career for nearly a decade now. One of my favorite players of this generation.

Such a joy to watch prime Thiem !
He is a favorite of mine. I could watch that backhand forever. He will be missed in the tennis world. Best of luck Dominic!! 😢😢😢

Goosebumps, especially as an austrian

He always has pleasant and calm manner no matter what. And, his one handed backhands will be missed. Cheers!
When every opponent says something kind about you, you have to be proud of what you achieved, despite the numbers of titles you have
Beautiful tribute.

He is a great person, he was the first person won the grand slam title among the young generations. How sad he left like this.😂😂😂
So sad for Thiem because of his injury. That backhand down the line is just nasty ! I think the shot is even more flat that Wawrinka's.
@tennistv, can you please put the names of the players somewhere? Dont know all of them, thanks 🤗
Tennis TV better do a big three version of this video... I'm sure Djoko, Rafa and Fed have a few nice things to say about Thiem.
Они уже говорили, тогда когда он сообщил о завершении карьеры
He was a sinner at his era.. dangerous player..
He is one of big three backhanders,,Roger, wawrinka and third Thiem.👍👍👍
Number one is Almagro.
And Justine Henin
@@4CK-n1w And don't forget Gasquet.

his backhand is not that bad on the wrist.

Yes, Austria has lost a talent in Tiem but has won a new in Sinner.
