    We never had good luck with a super dampner. Ours would always weld the hub to the crank and then it wouldnt come off. We also had the flywheel come loose. We went to a larger fluid dampner and never had any more problems. If you look up a super dampner they say they dont do anything until 6,000 rpm. Our motor never sees 6,000 rpm

    I think the big dogs in pulling are like the big dogs in drag racing. They have very successful business and need a good way to spend some money instead of giving it to uncle sam..But I always root for the underdog. Mr Bill could you please do.a video on why you guys use water injection? Is it to cool the charge air from the turbo?

    Schedule 40 black iron or galvanized fittings are only good for 150 psi. Hey Bill, what is growing on with the extra water pump ? Steam power or hydrogen power ?

    • @stevenarnold3935
      @stevenarnold3935 3 месяца назад

      Probably water injection to cool down the intake air to make it more dense to increase the horsepower.

    • @danthurman9076
      @danthurman9076 3 месяца назад

      @@stevenarnold3935 ok now I understand what you're doing, the tractor pullers in Iowa went to an ice cooler to chill the intake air instead of water injection. It held about 40 pounds of ice. Being an air conditioning and refrigeration man I can make the intake air colder than ice for sure. I am sure a compressor takes a little more horse power than the water pump. This would be right up Bills alley, use LP gas in the compressor to make a super cooler. 😯😁😉

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey Dan! It's a good thing I didn't know about the 150 psi limit, I never would of got anything built. Seriously, those small fittings have held 1500 psi no problem, the smaller the size, the greater the pressure they can take. It is for water injection to cool the boosted air. I've used them on hydraulic lines also, and never had one fail. I guess the ancient ones I've got laying around are made out of tougher materials?

    • @danthurman9076
      @danthurman9076 3 месяца назад

      @@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 well God has been on your side Bill. I understand about the pressure your work with. We change to schedule 80 for steam pressure Bill, that equals out to 3,000 psi. Your fine, I have also used schedule 40 for all kinds of hydraulic lines also. I didn't realize what the hydraulic system pressure was. Water does not compress like oil for sure. 1 drop of water expands 1500 times when converted to steam.

  • @casperbecker3794

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey Casper! l wasn't speaking of the tractor being a super or prostock, I was saying the guy l got the crankshaft from was a former superstock puller who now pulls prostock. You are correct, a. prostock is limited to one turbo, a superstock has multiple turboes. The tractor I'm working on is far from being a prostock, l just pull in some local open classes with it.

      You would find it interesting to see their design, they use several large rubber "o" rings to dampen the vibration. Maybe you can google ATI Super Damper and see something about the design.
