Just got back from snorkeling Roatan and Playa Del Carmen. Great time. Thought of you two when I made it to a cenote and was only about 20 mins from Tulum! Slàinte!
I'm just back from Belize. At the airport I had a nice conversation of an expat who has lived on Caulker for 6 years. She said it's gotten much more expensive now that Covid is past, so visitors need to anticipate higher room rates.
The go pro is not amazing for bringing out the colours under water but this part of the reef near the island where we went snorkelling was pretty shallow and some bits were more colourful than others. If you are able to go scuba diving to different locations and other parts of the reef and some of the marine reserves near by the coral there is pretty healthy looking 👍

As with everywhere I guess, travel in general is much more expensive now since COVID 👎 Hope you had a good time there 👍
What snorkel tour company did you use?
We went with Caveman, we would recommend them 👍
It seems that sadly all the coral is bleached/brown or were there any spots with vibrant colors?
