I did the same swap Vibrant 1142 then 2 weeks later changed them for the Vibrant 1794 and sound better.
Charger 4Life Out of curiosity, why is that? I’m currently running the 1794 and they have a pretty annoying drone at around 1700 rpms. Pretty annoying especially on the freeway

When I had my 2010 R/T 5.7 done they didn't want to step it down to 2.75 after the Flowmasters so they ran new 3" pipe back to a set of dual outlets. Sound was amazing. Not sure why these cars have 2 3/4 in pipes on them. Need 3" all the way.
The R/T has a 2.5" exhaust stock so if the flowmaster was 3" I could see them not wanting to step it back down. The scat pack actually shares the same exhaust manifolds, cats, and catback with a Hellcat so it works plenty good enough. An aftermarket catback gains zero hp on these cars.
I've been doing a lot of research on this resonator, the 1142. I thought the whole point of this resonator was to quiet down the car? I have a '07 Grand Prix GXP with the LS4 engine previous owner installed Jones mufflers and deleted the center pipe The noise inside the car is killing me especially at 55 mph. every other video I've seen on the 1142 shows that a quiet exhaust down. I guess my question is how was it that yours is louder?
My exhaust was completely stock prior to the 1142s being switched out for my stock mufflers. If I was straight piped first it for sure would have quieted the car down.

Just replaced the factory mid mufflers with these and I am highly disappointed. Basically sounds the exact same. I will either be replacing the rear resonators with race bullets or swapping the 1142s for the 1794s.
Completely unnecessary unlesss you got 1200hp car it’s about sounding good now showing how small your PP is with the loudest garbage you can get

Can’t decide whether to get the vibrant 1794s or the vibrant 1142s on my scatpack what would you recommend? And whats the difference between them?
1794s are louder. If you aren't planning any additional exhaust mods i'd probably go with them. 1142s started kinda quiet but once broken in they are decently loud. I'm thinking about adding catless midpipes which will make the car even louder which is why I chose the 1142.
Oh okay i get what you mean. Yeah im just looking into getting the vibrant resonators and maybe just exhaust tips nothing too big. The scatpack already sounds good as is

Cold start sounds craps mine is obnoxious af. Going to try to put 4 of these on my z28
If I want it quieter than stock exhaust cause of the Loud cold start you think these in the back would make it even quieter
My guess would be that it would make your cold starts louder or stay the same. I don't think it will make your car quieter.
What would you recommend on my 2019 charger for getting it loud and and that deep sound likes yours? My mid mufflers are deleted and back resonators are still on and rasp sound when you punch it. Would you recommend one of these vibrants to get it loud and deep sounding because I'm not trying to quiet it down. Just want it loud and deep sounding. Any info would help, thanks.
I probably wouldn't get these ones if you don't want to quiet it down any. Maybe the vibrant 1794 or the dynomax mini 24250.

No, this vid is about the mid mufflers. I removed them but added this resonator instead of a straight delete.
Sounds good I have a Hellcat stock catback exhaust I been trying to find some mid mufflers to replace my stock mufflers
Popular choices are dynomax mini race bullets and vibrant 1794s. I went with 1142s because I'm getting catless midpipes or longtube headers eventually so it will get louder.

@@aaronferguson47 That muffler is 6 inches longer than the 1142, you might have fitment issues. That's quite a bit longer than the factory hellcat muffler.

Correct, i mentioned the diameter difference in the video. Resonator is 3in inlet/outlet and the stock exhaust is 2.75.

Also there’s a little angle you have to make up for. Mid mufflers are offset not straight like the resonators.

Did you change the exhaust in the rear ?
I just replaced the stock tips with Carven 5 inch tips.

I just bought a 2019 scat pack and like how it sounds. Taking off the muffler is too much. Should of went to a carven muffler or Borla. Or look into magnapacks. That rasp is way too much lol
I would think these ultra quiet resonators are not meant to replace your muffler lol but to each their own. I like a deep growl without popping and cackling and raspy farts lol nice carven muffler or magnaflow muffler with stock reaponators / aftermarket resonators is a good setup imo.

Sorry to sound stupid in ?s.. when you let up off gas there’s no drone. I cut my resonators and added flow master 10s, letting up off gas sounds like your in a tunnel w/ a 6 cylinder. I like the sound of your as mine but just wanted to know after you let up off gas was any change into a drone or raspy shit sound. Thank you for responding
I would describe it as sounding like a stock scat pack but just a little louder, no drone at any point. Maybe after you let off the gas mds kicks you into 4 cyl mode?
