  • I've never held a motorcycle carburetor in my life, so I learned how to rebuild this S&S Super E carburetor. Is it hard? You tell me!
Here are the videos I relied on while learning how to rebuild this thing. Big thanks to these channels for putting out great content.

Youre almost there! It will be a fun reliable bike once it is sorted. I swear by the evo and super e carb. Very simple but dead nuts reliable.. and for me anyway has more power than i use. I have a mild cam and screamin eagle heads and pistons with the super e.. wouldn't trade it for the world

One step at a time, the banana hammock is coming along nicely. Once you finish the basic minor issues you will feel better, I am sure the oil light is a little gremlin in the wiring. That motor sounded too good to be running on low oil pressure.. Keep Your Stream Strong!!!

Thanks bud! I put a gauge on it and got 0 oil pressure. Shelby gave me some troubleshooting steps I’m going to get to this week.

Two things from past experience one whenever you take the flanges off check and make sure they're not warped I've seen a few of them just from the heat and them being made of aluminum they warp and will not seal well. Another thing is especially with evo's and early twin cams people will adjust the idle down real low so it gets elope but the oil pump needs a minimum of 950 RPMs in order to lubricate the system correctly and it'll cause the oil light to come on at low RPMs. After seeing the gorilla snot on the intake I'm pretty sure whoever had it previously was not the most adept wrencher

yeah I got the idle to about where I think 1k rpm is once I got back from the test ride but I didn't do any of the other adjustments yet. Not until I figure out my oil pressure issues. Still working on that.

Two wheel Rocco,Lowbrow customs and Pacific Mike are my goto for carbureted Harleys 👍 they helped me through a carb rebuild for my 99 Buell. I recommend a ultrasonic cleaner.. heat water first if you end up buying a lower wattage as they are cheaper to buy and take like 30 minutes to heat to temp. My cv carb air/fuel screw was only a half turn out it had a plug covering the access so it was stock settings..thought that was strange and the jets had 43 & 200

She's a little grimey. Not bad. Like anything else mechanical, it seems incredibly daunting if you haven't done it before but... 9/10 times, wrenching is much easier than it seems. It's just all the other bullshit that sometimes likes to slow down your progress that becomes the real pain in the ass 😅
