The problem with drilled/slotted rotors is that they chew up your brake pads MUCH faster- Should of replaced with OEM style "blank" (flat/plain) rotors!!!
Drilled slotted performance rotors ,, equals excellent braking than a reg rotor and drilled slotted cools off faster n doesn’t heat up like flat plain rotor
Thanks for posting the video with it being out of your norm. I ordered the grease and "impact screwdriver" while watching your video. Pads and rotors are on order for my 2015 sonata commuter and I'll be following your tutorial. Do you feel it saved a significant amount of time by having all four wheels on jack stands vs one at a time?
Have 85,000 on my 2015 Sonata just did the back pads myself. Was still actually alot of pad left. Gonna do the front next weekend. Got my pads at Autozone
So I have a question I have these installed on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata all the rotors are great except for the driver side rear like the hardware makes a noise when it turns causing the rotor is warping to fast and I switch them out twice and same problem like how when you was spinning the rotors and how it was making that sound that’s how mine do on the driver rear side any suggestions? Thanks
So, when you were spinning that rotor & prying that back plate off the rotor - was that the noise she was hearing...something got kicked up & bent that backing plate (not sure what that part's called)
First, thanks to your son for his service - hopefully, he'll come home safe & sound. Second, that dealership should be ashamed of itself - it's the 21st Century, & mechanics are STILL trying to take advantage of women?! Ridiculous! Third, and this is my totally unsolicited opinion, but you probably could have gotten away w/new pads & having the rotors machined. But, you've given your daughter-in-law peace of mind, & that's worth a lot more than a $1000.
Yeah I know but I had her order parts based off the dealership's diagnosis. I live 2 hours away so this was the first time I looked at the problem. I used all the parts she ordered so this was one less thing for her to worry about.
Great job and no non-sense video... can you tell me what was that you used to spray on the new rotors while you are installing and why it needs to be used ?
There is a few different names you could use. In order of expensive to cheapest: EBC, POWERSTOP, OR R1 if I remember correctly. I went with the PowerStop drilled and not slotted... Feels like I have a lot more brakes now. Slotted can cause noise in my experience.
I'm glad she didn't fall for their crap! I thank your son for his service. 🇺🇸
Tell your son I said thank you and to make it home safe and sound.
The way you bled the brakes, I've never seen before but I'm going to try that. Seems efficient.
Thank your son for his service shame on dealerships for trying to sell her stuff she didnt need
God bless your son. Thank you for his service
Thank your son for his service and God bless

Nice job. And they do look cool.

Do you have part number for rear pads?
No Autozone looks it up on there computer
Good brake job. Only things I would do different is stay with the blank rotors, and put new abutment clips on the bracket
Why the blank rotors?
@@bryanperaza2784 slotted rotors eat the pads more quickly
Good Job!!
Where did you get the rotors from? I'm having a hard time finding the drilled ones thanks
Try Powerstop rotor. Good quality.

good job
What size is the torx for the rotors .?
Why loosen the bleeding screw versus using a c-clamp?
Pushing old fluid into the line may contaminate the ABS system
Great job
If she does not like the brakes squeal she is going to hate those drilled and slotted rotors
Your right drilled and slotted rotors tend to collect dust in holes and slottes
So, when you were spinning that rotor & prying that back plate off the rotor - was that the noise she was hearing...something got kicked up & bent that backing plate (not sure what that part's called)
I think most of what she heard was the front where the edge of the pad was worn getting into the rotor.
If you can put in a link to those rotors I would appreciate it not sure if you got them on Amazon or from an auto parts store please let me know
After How many kms did you replace that everything ?
Good job 👍🏻
Question how did you bleed the brakes.
$160 plus a good supper lol!

Break cleaner !
Good job looking after your sons wife. The dealer should not be taking advantage of a lady whos husband is serving in the military!
Dealers shouldn’t be taking advantage of NO 1 period!
Where did you find the slotted and drilled rotors for the Hyundai sonata I've been looking for them
Rockauto.com has them
@@stringmem is the website trustworthy ?
@@onofreeduardo4298 yes i shop from them all the time
@@stringmem heyy , sounds good then bro i was just looking at their site , they seem to have everything for your needs and affordable price ! Thanks 👍
What was the part name of those rotors? I want to put them on my sonata

Nothing wrong there just rusted just needs some hard braking to polish them rotors up
The rust happened while the car was parked waiting on parts. It has been raining for weeks.
Come on fella, put a lil paint on those calipers!
I would have posted name of rip off company and give review online.
1 lol
Thank you
