No i totally disagree. It wasn't just him changing because he travelled, it was that he was genuinely a horrible person, the way he manipulated her throughout their relationship to make sure she never became independent and stayed dependent on him. He stopped her from having fun, dancing with the girls, he stopped her from getting a job despite her being really smart and getting a great job offer. He wanted her to stay in her shell, innocent, docile and dependent. He wanted to have full control over her.
Then he probably went outside and had affairs with women who were independent, fun and dressed sexy, the very thing he didn't allow her to be. After making sure that Rani lost her identity in that relationship, he didn't want to marry her anymore. What an A hole. She wasn't going to see his perspective while travelling but rather she has started to see how horrible he was to her, that the relationship wasn't all rainbows and colours but had major flaws, he was really toxic and now that she was falling out of love and finding herself again, she can see that.
When you see more and more cycles, that's Netherlands. One of the best place in the world with most friendly people.
The second hand embarrassment I got from watching this movie now that I actually KNOW what is going on... hahaha ! Much love to Kangana for portraying the innocent country bum that we've all come to love :)

you got her completely wrong .before they used to be a couple .after he changed his choise and broke their marraige a day before the marriage day .so she decided to go to paris alone without him as honeymoon .she was so innocent that she could not understand that he was a selfish guy(vijay) .after coming to paris she realise that he was not correct for her .she learns and makes herself as self independent and as a morden lady .after all this ,he comes to her again with a marriage proposal which she finally gets the ability and successfully rejects his proposal .

No. He called it off because after London and his business trips, he thought of Rani as not being "modern", an outdated virgin, a small towner who cannot match upto his status.
But Rani with her exposure to the world, will understand how VIJAY made her timid, restricted her and was unjust towards her.
Also, you must see this in context. Even now in India, in some families and areas of our country, women are not allowed to step out without a veil on the forehead... So marrying someone of one's own choice is far far away. In her case, her parents gave her liberty to choose a man she likes. And the man she chose, insulted her whole family by calling off the wedding( which in itself is a huge deal for the society's perspective towards women, an ancient idea, still not wiped off). Case in point: remember the fake uncle and aunt she met with in Paris? Their reaction is the usual one.
Also, she was by nature a "good" girl. Remember her drunk speech? She went for this love affair because the guy was persistent, a family friend and she too fell in love. But he tookadvantage of her submissiveness. His mentality was mean and narrow. So, no, she doesn't change in Europe. She understands in retrospect how Vijay boxed her up in his vision of a trophy wife and good daughter in law for his mother. She learns to love herself, the way she is.

You missed the point... He did not called off the wedding coz he got enlightened after visiting Europe, its just that he found white chicks and rethink abt his choice... why to settle for a typical traditional Indian gal when he can get a white hot chick so he called off the wedding... N Later he is chasing her coz she by mistake sends him a pic in Hot dress which makes him realize she can be hot too... Not out of regret... In her case she has been suppressing all her ambitions dreams and likes for this guy on the name of Indian values and ways and LOVE... But now when she is all by herself in a strange land with diff ppl she is getting new perspectives and she is discovering herself from her eyes and not his point of view... What the guy did, is a typical stockholm syndrome in Indian men who go abroad marry a white chick and call off wedding with Indian gals..
