+kppancake Really? I liked wearing a uniform in Primary and Secondary school. It was so easy, in 6th form (in my 6th form) you have to dress "appropriately" and professionally, and it's sucks and expensive. I kinda miss uniform sometimes.
If they allowed girls to wear trousers at my first secondary school, I'd have loved it a bit more, but nooooooo, they just had to turn everybody into little gender conforming "godly" boys and girls (which obviously worked well seeing as I'm now Agnostic and do not conform to gender stereotypes).
mine is just a polo shirt in blue or black with the logo with black trousers but next year its tie blazer shirt and GREY trousers with the logo and I'll be in year 10
i hope every Catholic schoolgirl can relate to wearing spanx or shorts under their skirts. they were the only thing that saved me from walking up the stairs and flashing everyone. spanx also let me play kickball, four square, and other games at recess on the blacktop since the girls weren't allowed to wear pants. i couldn't imagine just wearing the skirt with nothing underneath-i didn't live that dangerously back then.
TeenDream888 same...i also go to a catholic school. Our skirts are below knee length but even though its pretty long i still wear shorts underneath...i mean, everyone does..pretty much every school here in my country wears shorts under hehe
@nomopoly2515 Not part of the uniform, but teachers are happier anyways since the more girls wearing shorts under their skirts the less children flashing them. Also many young teen girls like to roll the skirts up a lot, if they’re wearing shorts under it at least they won’t be showing anything no matter what.
@nomopoly2515 Teachers are not robots, they can not and sometimes do not follow the rules set out for them. If something makes more sense to them they won’t bother saying anything, what school is really going to say that girls can’t wear shorts under their skirts??
Americans: If you go to a public school that you don't have to wear uniforms for, try coming here to England. Every single school has uniforms, apart from Nursery. Yup, that's right, every day I have to put of a blazer and tie and skirt and go to school looking like I belong at a funeral. Non-school uniform days are rare.
You are lucky here in Nigeria natter what day it is u must wear your uniform and our uniforms are plad dresses and t shirt and a blazer no matter how hot it is
I feels so proud because I'm a Canadian on the West Coast so we're not huge on French, but from what I've learned in school so far helped me understand everything in this feed. I feel so accomplished because I've studied French for 7 years, but it's public school education so it's not much
Where I live, almost every school has a uniform. We used to get so excited for days where we didn't have to wear them like non uniform day, international day, costume parade and many more unnecessary things but now that I think about it uniforms are way easier and less time consuming than just regular clothing.
I went to a Buddhist school my whole life and had to wear a uniform. I'm a guy, and I like that to this day I don't really care about worrying about what to wear each day. I'm used to it and I'm glad my mind feels free.
I've always had uniforms and I'm actually happy because I don't have the pain of waking up and having to pick an outfit every day, also there's less bullying about outfits because it's like "ew your outfit is horrible" "We're wearing the same damn thing" also it makes non-uniform days even more fun
I would have much rather worn a skirt than wear the shapeless khaki pants we had to wear in my private school. Collared shirts were a part of the dress code too. We basically looked like blue-shirt office workers. You'd also get in trouble if you didn't wear a belt and/or tuck in your shirt every day. (Thank God for dress-down day though.) Boys and girls had to wear this restricted dress code as well. So, you were lucky if you had a pretty face and could make this dress code look fashionable.
My high school had us wearing polos, khakis/navy blue shapeless pants that were so baggy on me and we got dress code violations for not wearing brown or black belts. -_-
Luke the upper part of the name is French, the lower part "fortis esto" is latin. The latin part is the school's motto meaning "be strong". i went to a belgian run catholic school. we had the same thing... motto in latin.
There's a school near mine whose is bright purple. PURPLE!!! Blazer and skirt and jumper and bag and Pe uniform and ugh We just call it the purple school.
The bottom part of my uniform is a tight pencil skirt. We wear heels. Did I mention? Most of my classes are at the 3rd floor of my school's main building. We had no elevators- just really long stairs. Loool. It was a nightmare getting to class every morning.
+SlogVlog Must be really cosmopolitan there, Id love to hear a variety of languages spoken daily. As it stands in South Wales i barely even hear any English, just like this scally/chav basterdised English, where "Safe" means everything from yes to see you later. My decoder ring for it got lost in my gene pool apparently.
+SlogVlog Is it really boring? I've seen pictures and Switzerland looks like heaven on Earth...it's on my Bucket list :) hopefully some people speak English there? otherwise i'm screwed..

In my country all the public and private schools have uniforms. I think it is the best cause we dont have to think about what we're gonna wear everyday..

Is it only Catholic schools that have uniforms in America? That's strange. There isn't a school in my country without a uniform. Some are stricter than others but they all have one. I can totally relate to Yenny's point about not knowing what to wear when you go to college. Took me quite a while to adjust.
+Grainne McKeown I think it depends where you live, in one elementary school i went to we wore uniforms and when i moved to a different school in the same town there wasn't any uniforms. In a weird way I liked them because everyone has the same clothes and they couldn't tease you for wearing something lol
Some public schools have uniforms in America, my mom works at one where all the kids have to wear polos and certain pants or skirts. So they exist, but most just have a dress code and will allow individual style
Pretty much only private schools have uniforms. Other than that it's a free for all like at my school you could probably come in in your underwear and no one would stop you
Jinger Yeoh Oh goodness, yes!! I went to a private school for 4 years, and it was slightly bland, but I realize now that I'm in America that I prefer uniforms!
MINE LOOKS SO UGLY, I'm going to another catholic high school cause I'm graduating from 9th grade, and I've been in this catholic school all my life, but the uniform on the other school is uglier.
went to BCLHS all four years, and let me tell you, three years after graduating i still look for maroon and white to wear. loved our uniforms, too bad they left out the black and white oxfords we had to wear on thursdays and days where we had mass. the uniform definitely holds a special place in my heart. GO WILDCATS!!!!!
Hahaha ! Moi aussi ! Mais je pense que elle a étudie seulement à la Romandie grâce à sa accent quand elle parle l'anglais ! Désolée en avance, mon français, ce n'est pas le meilleur. :(
Wow, no wonder Americans are so against uniforms, they were SO UGLY. Only the Swiss one was nice. I personally love my uniform, I save money on clothes, it makes school in to less of a "fashion contest", children are less likely to get bullied because of "cheap" clothes, it allows teachers and the public to identify students when out in public, it means you won't get sent home for in appropriate clothing and it prepares us for conforming to uniform expectation in the workplace. Idk why I wrote a mini essay on the benefits of a school uniform... Wtf am I doing with my life?
I live in a Chicago suburb and the only time I wore a "uniform" here in the U.S. was in middle school. It wasn't even a uniform it was dresscode we had to wear a navy blue or white t-shirt and jeans that weren't ripped or bleached or anything like that. In Mexico it was way different.
Each of you look amazing, both in normal clothing and your school uniform, In my schools I attended (which were all CofE here in the UK), in the infant & junior schools (ages 5-11) girls had knee length grey pleated skirts (if they weren't knee length they were sent home to change) or black trousers in winter, white blouses, grey jumpers or cardigans (in the winter), white socks (that had to cover the ankles) and black shoes. boys had to wear black shoes, black socks, black or grey trousers, white shirt and grey jumper (in the winter). In secondary school (12-16) the uniform was almost the same except both boys and girls had to wear a black blazer which had the school logo on and we had to wear a tie which had the thickest part showing, the only time we could remove the tie or blazer was during a class that used machinery (metalwork/woodwork/cooking), we were even supposed to wear the uniforms from home to school and from school to home. We did have the rebels, but not many, and if a teacher dared to cut your uniform the school would have the police involved as it was classed as assault, even back in the 1980's when I was in school! Do I have my uniform anymore? No because I outgrew it, so the school allowed those of us who were leaving in the next few months to attend classes without having to wear the blazer, as long as we had the rest of it...
I'm like the only girl that actually wants a uniform like a Korean or Japanese one. Btw, when I was younger I was in private school but the uniform was just a green dress over a brown shirt with black shoes.
The girl with long blonde hair kind of looks like Shakira
ikr

It sucks, trust me. In high school they never enforce it but only if your tatas are showing and you can see alot if a skin through shorts or shirts.
+C Perez its so much better! you dont have to think about what you're gonna wear in the morning.
I loved wearing a uniform. It was so easy and stress-free getting dressed in the morning!

In England pretty every school has this uniform no matter if it is a religious school or not (but I had to wear a tie with my uniform).
We all have to wear a tie in England boy or girl
Urgh why are Americans so lucky
Same in Australia
Why a tie is a must wear thing? Do you know why? Anybody? Does it represent something? Or is it symbolize something?
Katie Collier most schools in the US you can wear what ever you what.
And in Scotland!

Hahaha ! Moi aussi ! Mais je pense que elle a étudie seulement à la Romandie grâce à sa accent quand elle parle l'anglais ! Désolée en avance, mon français, ce n'est pas le meilleur. :(

I live in Australia So 95% of schools (public and private) have uniforms
+Lily Doherty Yep, I'm in that 95%.
My school uniform isn't nearly as bad as those!!! Mine is actually pretty cute!
The one with the long plaid skirt is absolutely beautiful in my opinion

Wow, no wonder Americans are so against uniforms, they were SO UGLY. Only the Swiss one was nice. I personally love my uniform, I save money on clothes, it makes school in to less of a "fashion contest", children are less likely to get bullied because of "cheap" clothes, it allows teachers and the public to identify students when out in public, it means you won't get sent home for in appropriate clothing and it prepares us for conforming to uniform expectation in the workplace. Idk why I wrote a mini essay on the benefits of a school uniform... Wtf am I doing with my life?
I havlove school uniform and people get sent out of school for bad uniform
yeah my school tried uniforms once and the bullying never decreased, it actually increased somehow so now we're bacl to how it was
My catholic school uniform is a white button up shirt with a red, white, and navy blue plaid skirt and I love it
Hey, these uniforms are better than my public school uniform. Would wear it anytime
All mexican schools have uniforms and they are not catolic schools, in USA all the schools dont have uniform?
Some do, some don't.
It depends on what school you go to.
no
I live in a Chicago suburb and the only time I wore a "uniform" here in the U.S. was in middle school. It wasn't even a uniform it was dresscode we had to wear a navy blue or white t-shirt and jeans that weren't ripped or bleached or anything like that. In Mexico it was way different.
+Alejandra Diaz (Veyra) really? I go to a school in the Chicagoland suburbs and we wear uniforms 1st-12th grade
This is every Irish school.
+Laurie Doré Yes omg. Skirts down to your ankles 4 life.

i wish we had plaid skirts and blazers. My uniform is so lame, I hate pullover sweaters
We have that uniform at my school but everyone rolls their skirts because it's better.
