    Blind tastings...
    Often surprising.
    Usually humbling.
    Always fun 😜!!

I’ve been hunting for the 1792. I can get the small batch pretty easily but I’m saving my money for this BP. Cheers Jon you took all those high proof like a champ lol. 🥃

Lol! These were heavy hitters for sure, but all tasty!

The 1792 is hot, but if you add enough water, make it 100proof
or so. and let it sit for a while it opens up into something amazing

Great advice. These are all hot really, but I agree, a little water helps bring out the flavours. Cheers!

Great showdown Jon. I have only had Rare Breed and Knob Creek and I think I would pick Knob Creek between those two. I also really like the 1792 Small Batch and would expect to like the Full Proof version. I'm a bit surprised that Bulleit did so well but such is Whisky's rich tapestry of experience and variability. Tomorrow it might be a different outcome. Slainte

I was very surprised Bulleit did as well S it did. I was sure it was last place! Like you said, another day the results would likely be different. Also, it is hard to do 4 Barrel Proof at once. I could have done round Robin over a couple of days. That might have been better. Still, fun to try!

Tons of fun! Really appreciate you speaking to blinds not as a medium for guessing pours but as an avenue to identify preferences. All about that! Great video.

Thanks. Your blind comparison work is so much cleaner, but these are fun to jump in every now and then. Glad we are aligned with the focus of their value. Actually, had I guessed every one, just how "blind" would that be!

Awesome barrel-proof battle Jon! I’ve got a 1792 FP pick from the BC Liquor and it is fantastic! I will review it and then put it in a blind shootout soon!

Blind reviews are super interesting. They surprise us all so often - and it is really (seriously really!) hard to get right ;) I was quite surprised by the scoring as well. I would have thought the Knob Creek would take the price as well.
Thanks for putting your "neck on the line" - always good fun ;)

Thanks. The rank scoring makes for a very large differential. If I had taken my time and ranked each on a 100 point scale, they may have all been within a few points. Still, fun to do and totally surprised me. Cheers!

Whoa! Four hitters there, Jon. Really can't go wrong with any of them. I think drinking them in one sitting may impact and change the flavors from what you'd normally get if you were only having one or two bottles. But then again, comparing them is part of the fun as well. Have a great week!

Totally agree. That level is a bit overwhelming. I took small sips, but still. They were great though, and fun to try!

Hi Jon, I am a big fan of rare breed! What a good price for it too in our market. I saw today that my favorite Canadian whiskey lot 40 came out with a peated whiskey! Have you tried it yet??

This was interesting. My wife and I did a blind taste test the other night of 4 bourbons. My number 1 was Rare Breed and 2 was Old Forester 1920. Her top 2 were Old Forester then rare breed. 3 and 4 were so close for me I’d have to revisit them but they were Bakers small batch (not single barrel) and Knob Creek 9 year single barrel. The whole thing was a shocker for me. Doing it blind is the way to go.

We learn so much when doing a blind, but it can also be a challenge with so many on the table. I would think OF 1920 would be my top on that list, then KC 9, but after this blind with KC at the end?! I would need to do it blind to believe it. Cheers!

Maybe. I was surprised my favourites; Rarebreed and Knob Creek did not do better. Thanks for watching!

This was awesome, was not expecting to see the 1792, Awesome pick!
Loved the blind tasting, ways so fun to watch!
Really great video, I've only had the rare Breed and the Know Creek and would vote RB over the KC.

Thanks for watching it though. I love doing blinds, but they are rather long and take a fair amount of editing. These are all excellent, and the 1792, really stood out today!
