Bonjour la France, thanks for the comment. I did the same for some time, but the plug-in voltmeter/thermometer died soon. And now I can say for sure what the voltage is even without any HUD displays/voltmeters.
Thank you Roman! Superb, as always. I have also read the comments. Could you explain to me as to a novice in this area: were it not about the money, which type of lamps would you install all over the car, including headlights, of course?)) I thought LEDs are the most advanced option, and they consume the least current. You say in the comments that xenon lamps are very expensive. Could you provide just a comparative quote as for all three types of new headlamps for X-Type: halogen-xenon-led, please? I mean, this type is so many dollars per lamp, and this one is so, etc... I am confused about this... Thank you once again!)
I meant that an OEM X-type xenon is expensive, because you have to replace a lot of things, in case you swap OEM halogen for OEM xenon. So I installed Philips +130% halogen bulbs in high beams and make use of them as it is explained in the video. As for the low beams, I was using an aftermarket Chinese Xenon (Fast Bright) for about 5 years, until they burned out this summer - both and simultaneously. So I have to find a new option for my low beams. If you have any ideas on this matter, you are welcome to advise.
@@jaguarrroman Ah, I see! It is more complicated than I thought) I thought you just buy some good LED lamps for both low and high, install them, and off you go!)
It looks like a button issue. I would open the key fob and spray the red button with some spray for contacts and if necessary try to solder the button to the fob's circuit board with a soldering iron. In my case it helped.
@@jaguarrroman Thanks I thought it might have something to do with the alarm system. Even though I have the top end Sovereign model it does not have the alarm.
Thanks for the video, very clear! Could you please make a review of the heads-up display you’re using in this video (or even just reply here to say what make it is, and if you’d recommend it). Thanks and hello from Ireland.
Many thanks to Ireland for watching! The head-up is of some unbranded Chinese make, I've just purchased it from eBay several years ago. It has got multiple features, I'm making use of it from time to time, but I don't keep it plugged in the OBD socket just to be on the safe side to avoid any possible ECU issues.
There can be a lot of reasons, why your car is overheating: beginning with the engine head gasket blown or a thermostat, coolant pump, a fan control unit failure. You need a motorist to check the engine head gasket and an electrician to check the fan control unit (it sits on the radiator near the battery). Good luck to you and your car!
Hi great video, I have a question. So Jaguar that’s shown on your video it has a 2 outer headlights an 2 inner headlights ()()___()() do they all use the same type of bulbs H1 or is there something different with wattage? Sorry I’m new to this.
Thank you for watching! Both the high beam and the low beam utilize the same type of bulbs - H1. But it's up to you what bulbs of this type you install in highs and lows. I installed +130% Philips Halogen in high beams and HID fast bright F3 in low beams.
So I did get 4 H1 bulbs but LED that’s correct fit an the company says it’s works on 2002 x type, when I installed them it’s not working. Here’s the info on the bulbs 6000kelvin- 16000Lumen- 60watts-12volts.. I don’t know why it’s not working please help me if you can. Thanks 🙏🏼
@@bonebird7778 I've never utilized LED, I believe those era headlights are not designed for LEDs. LED needs good cooling to last long, which is impossible in our headlight housings. That's why I utilize HID and Halogen. I really wish you good luck, but can say nothing to help you.
Thanks so much for the reply, now that I installed the led something is wrong with my interior lights under the front foot space. The T10 lights won’t come off so I pulled the bulbs out, any I idea what’s wrong or how to fix. Do I need to change a fuse or relay??? I really appreciate ur help!
@@bonebird7778 I would first check the socket / wiring with a multi-meter, if 12V comes to the socket. If overhead interior lights are OK, it's likely not to be the matter of fuse/relay, its looks like the wiring/socket issue.
Hi! Very usefull video, I just wanted to ask if I can use Philips H1 X-Treme Vision Pro150, they seem the same, but they don't give +130% but 150%, will that be a problem? Thank you in advance.
Thank you for your comment. I believe it doesn't matter much: 130% or 150%. You can use even Osram Nightbreakers. The idea is that when Jag switches to 13.2 volts you can make use of any +% bulbs in high beams, they will shine bright and last for quite a long time (those bulbs are still alive on my Jag).
Thanks bro, but: X-type head lights are not designed for LED bulbs, they don't provide necessary cooling or need either cut or not cover back caps, otherwise LEDs burn out quickly. Besides, quality LED are much more expensive, than halogen bulbs. And cheap LED bulbs are often out-focused, because their array often don't match the filament position of H1 bulbs, Jaguar X-type head lights are designed for. Are you still insisting on LED bulbs for X-type?

I have a united States 2002 jaguar x type 3.0 is extremely difficult to replace the front passenger most right most headlight bulb. It space is soo tight to get to. I heard via the jaguar x type forum to use a bent coat hanger to try to reach the clips properly
@@hotmasked1 The matter is that when you get to know how it works you can do it with a screwdriver or any hook. You can try and remove a plastic cover on the driver's side, if it seems more convenient to you. It will be easier to handle the passenger side. Good luck!
thank you for those explainations, I use a voltmeter/thermometer plug in the cigar-lighter place. Merci beaucoup de France.

Excellent description of this process. I had trouble closing the clip because it looks like metal is not there. Have to try again tomorrow. Thanks

For some reason my red button on my key fob doesn't turn the headlights on like you demonstrated. Im sure there must be a setting that I can change??

Hi, i have 2004 Jaguar XJR Supercharged. I need to replace the head light Ballast how do i get the front bumper off?
Thank you for your comment, I will not deceive you, I have never experienced removing the XJR bumper. I believe, it's better google it.

just put led in there work much better and last longer and u don't need to clean them all the time

Try Mercedes lights system
Easier to try Jaguar X-type OEM Xenon, but it will cost half of the pre-owned Jag's price.
