I’m 42 and my kids 17 & 13 are currently discussing this. I can’t stress to them enough HOW big of a piece of the pie that they are, society is fiercely fighting against this shift. They’re the giants and the world keeps hiding the mirrors 😅… the world is yours kids; take all of it 🏁🚀
45 here with no social media...only check RUclips here & there as time permits. None of my friends are on social media either & I prefer it that way. I was finding that I cant even have a decent conversation with a person who spends too much time on social media. Real life social skills went right out the window. All of those platforms need to gone on somewhere so people can remember how to interact in their REAL LIFE, day to day, communities. Just a POV from someone who peeped game back when Myspace (the first social media platform) hit the scene. When it left back in 2006/2007...so did I.
I agree with everything you shared. I deleted twitter, Facebook and threads, but am still on Instagram. I believe we have to be able to do our work and stay connected and informed. I also can't boycott everything, so I have to choose , but it is amazingly empowering and it is soul food to me to stay dedicated to something, even when I know it is such a small contribution.

I agree, but..the other two socials .. you never run from the bad things .( to a point ) .. its about being heard and also to observe. If you shut down those socials , others can't find you with the things they need te hear. It saved my life , it helped me with info, insights. The silent wisphers must be heard, even when using different words with the same message. People are more important then they who think have power over all living things. We do not run or hide anymore. Remember karma ..but also remember power. The smallest thing can sometimes be the biggest change
I never been into social media. The most is looking at RUclips and I have a Facebook acct but no friends or family on it cause I just use it for the supppet groups they have. I never been on TikTok, instagrams, or what’s app.. I’m 43 and I felt like it’s all full of fake people who need validation because if your in my life then I already know what’s going on it… plus I think social media and dating apps are a big issue in relationships and get a lot of people in trouble. But I do see the benefit of it for people with their company’s
I too am thinking of joining Blue Sky and ditching Meta. I’ve never been big on Tik Tok. So I don’t have a strong feeling about it. But you don’t mention that Tik Tok is owned by a company in China. That’s different than any other SM platform that’s popular in the US. Spying and data/ information mining is everywhere but a China- owned company has a different motivation to do those things. It’s not just about making money and big business. It’s about espionage and spying and de-stabilizing America.
Keep this to empathy not politics. Yes I know people in the military who have discussed with me the tictok issue and it is china. My empathy has nothing to do with the tiktok and never has and neither has yours. Empaths discussing empathy dynamics has nothing to do with activism. You don’t have to buy the story the gov is selling but if they’re right you’re disconnected from your empathy because you’re only thinking of yourself and self promotion. Narcissism. Social media has a huge amount do narcissism. Tiktok in china wont allow the stupid shit you see in tiktok. They only allow Americans to do narcissistic stupid shit. And it’s a way into our system. I’ve known about the china hack and tiktok back in 2020 but my ex ran for governor of Montana so I knew all the information. You’re taking things personally and need to detach. Stop the justice shit. It’s annoying to a person who has a 130 IQ and knows better. You are probably monetized and will freak if you don’t have that income. It’s not about justice. It’s about security. Stop thinking about yourself and making this into something it’s not.

YOU made it political. I made it socio-economical. And even if it is/was political, why could empathy not have an impact on your political, religious choices? Please don't try to limit empathy and its moral foundation in all aspects of the human experience. Thank you for engaging and sharing your perspective.
I couldn't see this more differently. What's the point of empathy if not to provoke action in the face of injustice. Focusing on empathy for the sake of naval gazing at one's own personal experiences as an empath sounds more like narcissism to me. I most definitely believe my gifts were given to me to use for good, i.e. activism.
