Thank you so much for the video. I have been trying to connect a generic data logger (exactly the same) for the past three months until the inverter blew up. Changed it for the Growatt (identical) now hopeful to get the Growatt datalogger connected.
The previous data logger had no configuration information.

Thank you for this. I never managed to get the app to work but your pairing method worked to get it connected to WiFi. I then went into the online dashboard and was able to add manually there :-D Once in the online dash it then also appeared in app.

Growatt asks for an OSS code that is taken by the growatt installer or the society he works for...how to bypass them?
Very useful video! Thank you! There's one thing though and I don't know if anyone has experienced this before. When I try to enter the IP in the browser, I get the message saying connection has failed. Any clues to why?
In the end I did successfully configure the dongle skipping the IP method but I still wonder why doesn't work for me if I followed every step. I'd appreciate it a lot if someone could shed some light on this ❤
This is helpful but I can’t seem to get the app connected on the last configuration part. It does not connect the data logger to the router, but it’s flashing blue after I logged in to the portal and configured the WiFi there
Same thing happened to me. Did you get it resolved?
When i scan for datalogger configuration it shows (Existing datalogger SN).. what does that means ??
Great video, very helpful. But does it provide the real-time information or there is some lag between the real-time information and the information on the growatt invertor?
It logs every five minutes, so not in real time.

I installed the growatt wifi and everything is ok. Two days ago there was a problem with the growatt battery and it was fixed. After connecting the battery with the inverter we realized that the growatt wifi is only lighting green... so what's the problem?
Glad to hear I’m not the only one with issues. I have blue flashing lights all around on the dongles, then I go to scan the bar codes and it says success!, but nothing pops up and it never takes me to step two. Any suggestions? (Tried rebooting the dongle)

What color the key should be at end of the process? Mine is still blue although my phone is connected with the datalogger. And it shows discharge on the shine on app. Not pv charge and discharge. Is there somethin wrong?

Hi there Ben.. very informative.. saved 120 trees then started the rangie and killed a small Forest 😆😆😆all jokes aside.. love the idea of producing your own energy and keeping costs down,, can the panels be cooled down in any way? As always stay safe and keep the vids a coming Paul.
We could always aim some fans at the panels.
You can scan the logger during the process then plug it in...
Unfortunetly with the Android 14 phones they Shine App not worked about pair with dongle.
Hi Ben ive the same set up could you share your settings so I can test my system? currently the dongle isn't on the dongle list it won't connect it so I have to connect growatt to clear it?

I had it a couple of times, if you follow the procedure it should work.

Hello Ben, could you check if the ground pin is connected to neutral in the inverter using a multimeter?
I used a multimeter , set to continuity to check all my earths/grounds were connected.

you should be able to see load consumption on the app, have you tried the desktop version? Log in with the same details as your app here: server.growatt.com/login

Hi there Ben, thanks for the informative video. I've been having issues connecting as well, with the configuration failing after it reaching 100%. Do you think there might be an issue with my wifi router settings, or would it rather be a faulty dongle? Should I go ahead and order a new dongle? Thanks for the help
Not sure, if you have followed the procedure in the video, it should work. Make sure your dongle is specifically for your inverter. Growatt sent me a replacement which was not compatible with my inverter, they sent the right one and it connected up fine.
If you still havent got it working, try to plug the dongle into powerbank or adaptor for smartphone 5v 1A. Got mine working, what a day!

Hey Ben, quick question. When I add my connect my datalogger with the app, I can only see my current production and not my consumption. I do not have a battery installed. When you open the app you see everything automatically. Am I doing something wrong? I'm using a MIN 3600TL-XH with the Growatt ShineWiFI-X. Thanks in advance!
When I open the app, it shows everything from production to consumption and in my case my battery percentage. Not sure why yours doesn't.

what if the color on growatt wifi can't change? I've tried clicking it 1 time the result turns blue but it's not full, I tried clicking it again but it doesn't work. what is the solution for such problem?
So the dongle needs wifi to be on 24/7 to be able to communicate with the shinephone app on my phone?
Having mobile data only on the phone is not enough?
If you want it to log data all the time then yes the wifi dongle needs to be connected to the growatt server 24/7. It connects to your app via the server. So it goes dongle - Router - Growatt server - back to router - device that has the app.

I don't know what the password is, I have tried but have not been able to access that part. You could ask Growatt, I wasn't too bothered as our inverter is in the house and easy to get to to check settings etc.

The spark didn't manage to get this setup, but then I realised he was scanning the wrong barcode. Typed the code in via the website and it all worked fine.
Do you know if I can pull the data into my home server?

No, I just have the Growatt dongle and the ShinePhone app.

On the 2nd day of trying to get it to connect.. Infuriating. The ip address does nothing with the dongle
i have been trying on and off for months to get it connected. I get the blue light then nothing shows up in the networks and just before it turns back to red i see it but then can't connect because it is then in the incorrect state. Tried again last night - no go. even from Phone or Tablet.
@@LucidFX. still not working here either. Since tried changing its server url, allowing router to access. Gets to about 60% +fails. Just will not connect to the hg633 router
@@mrmr3289 I think I will try again tonight. Perhaps on the weekend i will just yank it out and put it back in and see if that helps
@@LucidFX. it can be reset, pulling it is what I tried too. When the installer talked me through connecting it there seemed to be some extra steps that didn't makes sense. Still even then it didn't work.

Could you help us? We have Network Timeout its saying the shine box isnt connected to the router. It was working earlier so i dont know why all of a sudden its lost connection.😩
We get that sometimes, always comes back. I wonder if it is issues with the growatt server.

Can you connect to the dongle with a smartphone and see your stats ? Or do you need a a router? My only source of internet is my phone.
No, you need a router to connect to the server (in China) and then you phone gets the data from the server. You can't connect to the dongle directly.

You would not believe how much issues im having with this wifi dongle! I tried all your steps and my app does not look as good as yours. Interms of information
Its not working it turns to steady green when i configure the hotspot and when i open shinephone it says error
It it is only flashing green, you have the dongle connected to your inverter and your router, but it is not connected to the Growatt server. Until it flashes blue it will not show up on the app.

Poor Service support. I suggest if one cannot provide required service, one should not do that particular business. Took the solar rooftop system but on request no service support is provided. The concerned person Mr.Anand Desai and Mr.Gaurang have no reply to our issues. Mr.Ashish from Growatt is always unavailable to contact. Though, solar rooftop system is a must need and very useful, No point spending 3-4L behind this company. Go for a different company instead of Luxsoli and Growatt !!!
I've not had any problems with Growatt support, always answer my emails and respond accordingly.

I have been emailing them, emailed growatt first , then an engineer emailed me back. Never had the need to call them.
