Great video. That was a roller coaster of emotions! Up here in CQ, I have been trying to nut out the local threadfin near Gladstone and this video will certainly assist in my learning, I'll give this technique a crack next set of big tides!
Wow this is seriously the best format for delivering a quality fishing show.Mate your redefining what the top level of fishing shows should be every show. The show was full of epic content aswell.Well done mate.Seriously your doing a great job would love a chance to come fishing with you oneday. All the best cheers!👍
thanks mate for that insight in how to fish the Mary, been wanting to fish it for a long time but had no idea where to start.. after watching your video I'm going to give it a go in the future.. great stuff
Hi KURT, I HOPE YOU DONT MIND THE QUESTION, in one of your other videos , on fishing for black bream, where do you get your green weed ? we use to get it at the Tweed, but now in Brisbane just wondering. cheers mate love you vids,
Hey mate. I’m on holiday here this week. Got a 20hp quintrex explorer. Bloody wind up here this week! Is it still pretty safe to head to the creeks? Just got my boat license yesterday so pretty new and safety is number 1. Cheers
Hi Mate - yeah this wind is killing me. You will be fine in the creeks and rivers. Just need to be careful around large open areas as the wind will create white caps etc. Quite a few of the boys have been fishing the Burrum River and Mary River and having success. 👍
Mate one of your best vids! I feel your pain losing that fish and who hasn't had there outboard stuck in the mud when using the electric? lol. Exactly the type of fishing I like to do around here, ya just can't get shallow enough. :) Once again Awesome Vid! Thankyou.
Depends on if there is structure around, this particular spot is free of structure and only has heavy mud, so I go a little lighter on the drag, the one I lost however I went too light and really needed to lock it up, but I was a little distracted by the boat not moving. The electric motor means you can chase them down and out manoeuvre them most of the time so you can ease off on the drag but obviously I failed on the last fish. lol
Lee Winger should be able too, might take a while to get there though, takes me a solid 20mins in the Quinnie, but I guess you could start in the lower reaches and move up. Sand Flies are thick before first light, and in the two main creeks leading in the tide does move a bit in the centre but if you hugged the northern bank you should be fine.
G'Day Mate - I have done a bit, but not much so far this season, managed a small barra a week ago while testing some lures but was not really looking for a barra at the time.
Plenty of choice of fish species in your neck of the woods mate! I hear they catch some nice sized elbow slapper summer whiting up your way on lures as well. Cheers mate thanks for your response.
nice vid, though I'm surprised that someone who obviously takes his fishing seriously would handle a fish with a lure still hanging out of its gob. don't do it , people.
Great video. Super to see the Threadies up in such shallow water.
Thanks Alan
Superb,awesome narrative,great footage,great information.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it.
Awesome video. I'll be checking that area out next time I'm up at the Bay. Thanks for sharing Luke
No worries Scott, all the best.
Wonderful video Luke , the Mary river seams to a very healthy system.
If you know where to look, I guess it is like a number of fisheries, finding a balance between various demands.

Thanks mate, hopefully you land a few, I am keen to know if this works in your neck of the woods!!

Thanks buddy, really appreciate the feedback, guess you have to laugh, although at the time I wanted to uppercut myself!
Love the music. What is that lure call?
Austackle sugarglider, i am unsure if they make them anymore or actually if austackle is around anymore. But a vibe type lure will work just the same.
sweet vid mate
Thanks Ned, appreciate the feedback, will keep plugging away!
Fish That Snag - Fishing Videos no worries mate, keep up the good work
how tight do you tend to run your drag? down in brissy here i have mine almost locked, but i fish landbased around structure.

Wow tech has changed over the years
Damn those fish are huge
Thanks, this one was about mid range, they can break the 1.5 metre mark. Oh and Sub'd, like your channel, looks like loads of fun.
You had a bit going on there🤣
🤣😂 yeah.... i wont tell you how long i spent trying to get that lure back.
Great stuff mate. would I be able to kayak up those creeks or does the tide run too hard? thanks

Great footage mate! Do you do much Barra fishing in the sandy straits?
G'Day Mate - I have done a bit, but not much so far this season, managed a small barra a week ago while testing some lures but was not really looking for a barra at the time.

brilliant video Luke!
Sandy Straits are awesome.
This hot weather is tiresome though, as you say.
Nice work mate.
Thanks
Cheers Geoff, appreciate the feedback, made it home by mid morning today, that sun is brutal today.
yes I'm trying to build a boat in my shed, and I have to keep retreating to the air conditioning after about an hour.
Where do you buy your austackle gear through ? I`m a local and love to support local businesses.
Anglers Den in Hervey Bay have a limited supply and Freedom Fishing in Maryborough have a larger range.
Cheers

Not a fan of the background music. I am here for the fishing and the commentary. Not trying to be negative just an honest assessment.
They are not even remotely related to salmon. What a meaningless name.
