      If you know where to look, I guess it is like a number of fisheries, finding a balance between various demands.

    Great video. That was a roller coaster of emotions! Up here in CQ, I have been trying to nut out the local threadfin near Gladstone and this video will certainly assist in my learning, I'll give this technique a crack next set of big tides!

    Hey mate. I’m on holiday here this week. Got a 20hp quintrex explorer. Bloody wind up here this week! Is it still pretty safe to head to the creeks? Just got my boat license yesterday so pretty new and safety is number 1. Cheers

    • @FishingBoatingExploring
      @FishingBoatingExploring  3 года назад

      Hi Mate - yeah this wind is killing me. You will be fine in the creeks and rivers. Just need to be careful around large open areas as the wind will create white caps etc. Quite a few of the boys have been fishing the Burrum River and Mary River and having success. 👍

    Mate one of your best vids! I feel your pain losing that fish and who hasn't had there outboard stuck in the mud when using the electric? lol. Exactly the type of fishing I like to do around here, ya just can't get shallow enough. :) Once again Awesome Vid! Thankyou.

    • @FishingBoatingExploring
      @FishingBoatingExploring  2 года назад

      Austackle sugarglider, i am unsure if they make them anymore or actually if austackle is around anymore. But a vibe type lure will work just the same.

  • @yeebrodo14

    how tight do you tend to run your drag? down in brissy here i have mine almost locked, but i fish landbased around structure.

    • @FishingBoatingExploring
      @FishingBoatingExploring  7 лет назад

      Depends on if there is structure around, this particular spot is free of structure and only has heavy mud, so I go a little lighter on the drag, the one I lost however I went too light and really needed to lock it up, but I was a little distracted by the boat not moving. The electric motor means you can chase them down and out manoeuvre them most of the time so you can ease off on the drag but obviously I failed on the last fish. lol

    Great stuff mate. would I be able to kayak up those creeks or does the tide run too hard? thanks

    • @FishingBoatingExploring
      @FishingBoatingExploring  7 лет назад

      Lee Winger should be able too, might take a while to get there though, takes me a solid 20mins in the Quinnie, but I guess you could start in the lower reaches and move up. Sand Flies are thick before first light, and in the two main creeks leading in the tide does move a bit in the centre but if you hugged the northern bank you should be fine.

    • @FishingBoatingExploring
      @FishingBoatingExploring  7 лет назад

      G'Day Mate - I have done a bit, but not much so far this season, managed a small barra a week ago while testing some lures but was not really looking for a barra at the time.

      Plenty of choice of fish species in your neck of the woods mate! I hear they catch some nice sized elbow slapper summer whiting up your way on lures as well. Cheers mate thanks for your response.

    They are not even remotely related to salmon. What a meaningless name.
