Thank you for your honest reaction. You now have an idea of the wide spectrum of Tuomas Holopainen's compositions. This song, part of the album "Imaginaerum" (2011), was really written for Anette's voice. If you take another step in the band's history and listen to a song with the first singer, Tarja, you will be able to appreciate the vocal diversity that makes Nightwish's catalog unique. One of my favorite songs with Tarja is "The Siren", from the concert "End Of An Era" (2005)
A very unique and unusual song from Nightwish. "Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red" is another jazz flavored song with Marko and Floor. Live version of course from Wembley 2015. Or "The Islander" live from Tampere. It is pronounced Too-omas. I once again agree with Mrs. Coach. I am a Floor fan. 🌹🌹Respect to Annette.🙏🙏
I am sorry, i am going to comment twice :) With your willingness to see the multiple sides of Nightwish, I cannot wait for you to do the Schoemaker and procession lyric videos from the Human || Nature album. Really shows the depth of talent in this band.
For shoemaker please if you do the lyric video, please follow it up as a double reaction with the live version. Seeing the ending live will blow your mind! I I'm tearing up just thinking about it
For me Floor is perfect for Nightwish above all others. Nightwish creates so many types of songs, and Floor is just perfect in any singing role. Floor singing this is much better in my opinion, but I feel that about any song she sings.
I was a late bloomer Nightwish fan and Floor was the first I ever heard other than the Phantom of the Opera version with Tarja. I prefer Floor on all of their songs, but there are some that I will say I do enjoy Tarja's just as well.
Maybe. But during Foor - era nightwish hasn't made albums like Century child or Imaginarium. I'm not saying it's Floors fault. I'm just disappointed that Tuomas hasn't made a really great, emotional album with Floor. There are some songs for sure, like gsoe, elan, music and pan, but they are not as great, imo, than Beauty of the beast, Nemo or Song of myself. Let's hope the new album is it.
For your information, Anette did sing jazz like long before she joined Nightwish with her mother, who was a singer in a jazzband, she was very young, in her teens. Tuomas probably wrote this song to her because her background. Anettes two albums with Nightwish are quite amazing.
I have always said that Annette is a very talented singer who has the great misfortune of being caught between two amazing singers in Tarja and Floor. My favorite Annette song is her version of Amaranth.
Floor Jansen performed this number at her Amsterdam solo concert - and, well . . . let's just say it's a different listening experience. Anette was competent, but Floor . . . is Floor.
Thank you, like your NW reactions a lot! Can‘t wait until you react to their Tribute to Pink Floyd, High Hopes. This will be also interesting for you: Marco as lead, epic guitar etc…. Even David Glimour said he loves it.
Great Reaction! Nighwish is truly a whole vibe and always an experience in one way or another! Anette was the 2nd singer after Tarja (Ta-RR-eah) was fired in 2005. Tarja had a very rich Operatic style w/ a lot of Vibrato. Tuomas didn't want to "copy" that with a new singer, he didn't want someone to sing Operatically (at that time almost 2 decades ago). Anette has that thin "Poppy" style and worked w/ the songs Tuomas wrote for her, check out the official video for the song "Amaranth" w/ Anette. However, when they let Anette go Tuomas immediately knew he wanted Floor since Floor's first band After Forever toured w/ Nightwish back in the Tarja era (Floor and Tarja are still friends to this day). Now for ME since Anette has a pop style sound I don't like it when she does ANY Tarja era songs, for ME it just doesn't work, nope. But when Floor was official in 2013 Tuomas started introducing more Tarja era songs which Floor could TOTALLY do in an Operatic style like Tarja, see "Stargazers" live at Tampere 2015 because Floor said it was off the setlist for a decade (since Tarja left). Anette has gotten a lot of backlash over the years and a lot of hate which is totally uncalled for and unnecessary. It wasn't her fault she couldn't sing Tarja's songs w/ the same rick Operatic style. I'm sure Tuomas changed his mind for FLOOR, since she can sing clean, harsh vocals and Operatic or ANY style really. If you want to be introduced to Tarja I suggest the official video for "Nemo" and both "Phantom of the Opera", "Slaying the Dreamer", and "Planet Hell" all 3 live from the End of An Era concert 2005. And just for the record, even though *I* personally don't think Anette's vocals didn't fit Nightwish's big EPIC sound, her POST Nightwish work is fantastic such as The Dark Element project and her 2 Solo albums "Strong" being my favorite. But FLOOR for me is THE PERFECT fit for Nightwish!!!
On their solo tour, Floor also sings this song and I think it's better. Pls react to this too if you want. Floor Jansen - Slow Love Slow (live Amsterdam) ruclips.net/video/bBG8GdyLYDk/видео.htmlsi=6rO4Q1tUWMFQi0nZ
there is also anette era nightwish song meadows of heaven what sounds also difference like other nightwish product. you should listening that song and lyric version coz that studio version have original usa gospel singers, other version like live not have gospel singers. i think meadows of heaven are nightwish best song. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful sunday.
Love your reactions Coach! New Nightwish fan also, and I am following this journey with you. I like Blues & Jazz, live this song. You must react to Kiss you while your lips are still red. Sung by Marko
Marco is a really versatile singer. He won the Finnish version of “the masked singer”. As a Nightwish fan and knowing that it was him, of course I thought: how can you not recognize him.
Anette version is good but I prefer Floors version, too. More dynamic and her voice fits better with Marko’s voice. ruclips.net/video/1TjEfOjGdcE/видео.htmlsi=Dm5YByz5BwVPF91C
I doubt you'll find any Nightwish fans who would say that this is their favorite by any stretch, so you're safe, LOL! If they do, they're in the wrong genre. This song was written this way to serve a specific purpose within the plot of the movie Imaginaerum. Even though we don't go back to this as a "go to" track, it is very interesting to see these musicians' capability to compose and perform in any genre no matter how far removed from heavy metal. It speaks to their supremacy of talent. Jukka, the drummer, said in an interview that he had to learn a whole new drumming technique (using the steel brush) special just for this song. And, no, this style is not what Annette is all about. This was unique for her too. But, then again, so was metal. She came from Swedish pop band Allyson Avenue, and so her voice has a more poppy sound than metal queen. Generally, I think it is fair to say that the majority of Nightwish fans consider Annette to be far, far better on the studio albums and less so in live performances where Floor, and Tarja before her, excel. Although there are exceptions to that sentiment, as she does have her own diehard followers. As for Tuomas's name, it is the Finnish form of our Thomas. Using phonetic spellings that make most sense to our American tongues, it is pronounced like "2-oh-moss" with the accent on the "two."
This song was written for Annette's voice, and the band's abilities, so this live version is closer to the "original" than Floor's live version at her solo concert in Amsterdam. I like Floor's vocals better, but the band playing behind her, while good, just can't measure up to Nightwish. The studio recording of this song is probably the best version. Annette at her best, the band fantastic as usual.
Hey guys. We always respect reactors who express their honest opinions about the performances. For me, this song fits Anette's voice and style although I actually prefer the version of this that Floor did at some of their shows. Of course, I am prejudiced because I think Floor is one of the best female lead singers on the planet... if not the very best. Jazz is certainly not close to one of my favorite genres but it does show off the ability of Nightwish to play anything they want to. I can't wait to hear their new album.
Do yourself a favor and watch the movie that Nightwish made. The movie is "Imaginaerum" and is an 80 minute story based on The Snowman. From the mind of Tuomas who scored the movie. Great watch and the extras on the DVD are informative. I have not looked to see if the extras are on youtube. Love your reactions. BTW I'm a 76 yr old who found Nightwish last year. My bucket list is to see them live. I'm hanging in there.
Anette does have some jazz in her background, so yes, Tuomas wrote it taking that into consideration. Current drummer Kai Hahto also has some in his background, he helped Jukka out with the style. Coach, you're right, Emppu plays what the song needs, the entire band does too, but he does like clowning around.😁 Anette's usually is a pop/rock style. The music video for Amaranth will give you a taste of that. If you would like to see her today, she released a solo song a couple weeks ago, called "Rapture". Anette also has a day job, she is a nurse in her native Sweden.
This is the effect of Tuomas's expansion in Different areas of Music. Tuomas wrote Music at times to fit his lead Vocalist (Tarja = Power Dynamic, Operettic and Dark $ Warm Sparano) then (Anette = Modern Popular, Middle Range Rock and Jazz) then (Floor = Power, Range, Rock and an a Classical to Operettic set of Vocal Art Talents not seen in many Artists. Nightwish as a Band could described as "High Talent" and "Developed Work" the Brings the Music.
This song was very much a one-off from the Imaginaerum movie. It fits in well with the movie, with Anette lying sultrily on a piano and the band looking like a nightclub band in suits and neat hair! I'm not really a jazz/blues fan, but my taste does cross a few boundaries at various times and this is GOOD. Tuomas is pronounced like Too-o-mass. You hear Marco say it like that at the start of "The Greatest Show On Earth" live.
This song was in Anette's wheelhouse. She gets some heat from fans because: 1 - she replaced Tarja, 2 - she was a pop/jazz style singer which we can hear in this song and 3 - she wasn't the best on a live stage. This is arguably one of her best live performances as she is in her comfort zone. If you want to have some fun with this, check out Floor singing "Slow Love Slow" with the Marcel Fisser band during one of her solos shows: ruclips.net/video/bBG8GdyLYDk/видео.html
Anette didn't have a stage presence either back then. I think THIS is the BEST stage presence she had, it's believable that she can be a Night club singer, *where's my cigar? lol
Can you believe it...i saw that Performance the frist Time now. And im in Line with Mrs. Coach. Nicely produced, greatly performed but...thanks, but thanks no. And Anette was for sure the most wrong treated Person of us "old " Fans back then. I simply ignored Them at the Turn of the Decade. Dont repeat my Failures:) Tuomas have written and the Band has performed so many Gems in the last 30 Years, that are iognored by some Fans for one or another Reason, and that truly does Them no Justice, no Matter in which Lineup. Stay healthy!
Thanks for checking this out. Tarja there first singer has a very powerful vocals but sings more Opera/Classic, Anette there second singer sings more Pop and Floor seems to sing anything she sets her mind on.
For me, although Anette does a good job on a lot of the rockier songs, she really shines on the ballads. There's not a lot of decent live footage of her, so I'd like to recommend the fan lyric video for _Meadows_ _of_ _Heaven_ by Gonda Huisman (or just the official audio if that won't work). The only live versions are (a) from a phone at one of the very few gigs where NW played it live, and the sound isn't great on that one; or (b) Anette singing it with an orchestra after her time with NW. So I'd go with the studio in this case.
Anette's voice really shines for me on sadly overlooked power ballads like, "The Crow, the Owl & the Dove" (one of my favorite Nightwish songs), "Eva", & "Meadows of Heaven". "The Crow, the Owl & the Dove" has an emotionally powerful, animated OFFICIAL Nightwish-sponsored fan made video that won a contest to be the official video for the song. You might like it, but have a few tissues handy if you decide to check it out. Of course, songs/videos like Bye Bye Beautiful & Amaranthe are the usual go-to reaction video staples.
@@CoachCastTV My pleasure! ☺👍 Poor Anette really has had to live in the shadow of two legends in Tarja and Floor. She might not have the metal chops nor the versatility of Floor nor the soaring soprano glory of Tarja, {nor admittedly the live vocal stamina of either} but her warm voice has it's own charms as well. The songs that Floor hasn't covered with Nightwish from the Anette era and/or sadly don't have videos {"Rest Calm" being another such forgotten gem}, tend to get overlooked but are REALLY good. Hope I haven't worn your eyeballs out with my incessant jabbering, but Anette deserves to have a kind mention now and then. 🤘☺
@@Green-Lyon Yes, we can certainly appreciate that she is very talented. We have one with Tarja coming next and she made a great impression on us (not to spoil it too much).
Well, this is a little different, and rather unexpected! Loved the piano! And I was hypnotised by the beautiful vocals, which for once wasn't nearly drowned out by the instrumentals, and the melodic guitar music. 👏
Also a slow Nightwish song this time from Nightwish with Floor is ruclips.net/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/видео.html . Sleeping sun 2016 . I think your wife will add it to her playlist. Have a good day and Thank you .
You should check out Marko singing "While Your Lips Are Still Red." He has a sweet voice too - many abilities. 😊 To see a difference, Floor has sung this with Marko, too. Its great. Annette had trouble with consistency and pitch problems singing live, but these low notes she could do quite well.
Well done. This is the only live performance by Anette that is ever suggested by her fans as she stays in tune. It was written for the album Imaginaerum which was composed to form the basis of a film of the same name and this song was set in a jazz club.
With this song, I find it so amazing, that they can play this kind of jazzy music so well. This song fits Annette’s voice just perfectly! Another song for her is Scarytale.
That chorus is one of the most beautiful melodies that Tuomas has ever written. And I love seeing Emppu doing that jazzy/bluesy solo. Annette has a great voice, but I still like Floor's version better.
Thank you for watching this one. The nightclub vibe is exactly right! The movie version is good too! The visuals are awesome. The brass outro in the movie and album versions are really cool. In the movie context, as written for Anette by Tuomas, the change of styles fits the story and the character which Anette portrays. Don't save Anette's Scaretale for Halloween, do it now now now! (please?)
For great heavier Anette era song, I highly recommend the official video for "Amaranth" and offical audio for "Cadence of Her Last Breath". Besides being a longtime metalhead I'm also a huge jazz fan, and still go back regularly to all my Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and Billie Holiday collections, so I've always loved Slow Love Slow, but I realize it's not for everybody.
This was Tuomas’s delving into a 1920s jazz club, very different from most Nightwish. Now let’s see how they opened that Wacken show - Dark Chest of Wonders, Floor’s coming out party. Yes, you get Emppu, his greatest skill is playing exactly what the song calls for and plays it perfectly. Keep exploring Nightwish. NWArmy Texas
Nightclub gets it right. The song is from the concept album/film music Imaginaerum and the scene takes place in a nightclub. Tuomas was in his school's jazz band and that's where he met Tarja and Empuu. He had no further contact with Tarja beyond the band. When he recorded his first EP, the first demos were created only with Empuu, without Tarja. Only when these don't work does he bring in Tarja. The song remained a unique excursion into jazz. I recommend this song to introduce Anette because her voice goes well with it. With other songs this style becomes a catastrophe because it doesn't fit, especially live. I still like Floor's version better because she has a quieter voice and has better stage presence, not just because of the lack of a hat: Floor Jansen - Slow, Love, Slow (Live) A video about the pronunciation: How to Pronounce all the NIGHTWISH Names Like a Finn
I have the whole Nightwish catalogue, there are only two songs I removed, this is one of them (due to my personal taste). As always I appreciate all their musicality . If anyone reads this I am open to guesses what the other song is. Btw it is constantly amazing that out of their entire library I only dislike two!!!
I like Slow Love Slow. I visualize Tuomas (Keyboards) writing the song thinking about his method of constructing his music in his slow thoughtful and very creative way. After Floor took over on the World tour she started singing it in the concerts, but later it was dropped from the regular setlist for the bigger less intimate venues. She has sung it in her solo concerts, and does it justice. Here is a pretty good Fan cam of Floor sing Slow Love Slow with Nightwish only a couple of weeks after joining the band on tour. She adds a very sexy, sultry style and powerful ending vocals that have a very Pink Floyd feel, and Emppu has fun with the audience doing his blues style solo. Slow Love Slow Ft Lauderdale Oct 13, 2012. ruclips.net/video/Ol9VbuKKZ5U/видео.html
I heard now the versions from Anette and Floor. I have to admit that this was good, but i prefer the version of Floor. For some reason it sounds more jazzy
Please listen to the Pink Floyd cover of “High Hopes” with Nightwish. You will NOT regret it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Also…you can not overlook “The Poem and the Pendulum” and “The Greatest Show on Earth” by Nightwish. All 3 should be heard in the live versions.
If you want to see Anette "Unrestrained" then check out 'Bye Bye Beautiful'. A song written in the backlash of Tarja's firing. It's definitely not slow, slow 😁
I think Coach was spot on with his comments on Emppu and his guitar contribution - but I think that also applies to all the other guys in the band - they work for each other, and they obviously have such a great time performing. If you get the chance, and you have the inclination, you can check out Emppu in a band called Brother Firetribe - try this clip: ruclips.net/video/K5nXG_jmTBY/видео.html - this is more straightforward rock music than metal
Well done😁 if you want a total other side of Anette try out "songs the night sings“ that is from her after nightwish. The Band is called" the dark element "coach will enjoy 😉 greets from Germany, Martin
We must keep in mind that they were playing at a jazz festival. There were probably folks in the crowd who were not familiar with Nightwish. I think that it's safe to say romanticide would have been a little bit loud for the crowd.
Greetings to coach-couple! This song is very unique in Nightwish prodution. Bur it was very suitable when they were asked to performe in some kind of award-gala in France. I have watched your reactions to Nightwish and I warmly recommend you to watch/hear a concert in Hartwall Areena 21.st October 2005. End of an era -tours last, and Tarjas last comcert...although she did'nt know it then. That show is from Finland and there is 1song in finnish too. I know you both would enjoy it. Kiitos=thank you. Sincerely yours Kaisa from Finland
Hmm, when someone mentions a piano in a slasher, my thoughts go to "Halloween" rather than "Friday the 13th", but I admit that it's been ages since I saw either of them. I consider horror one of my favourite genres, but I prefer the more psychological kind. I think that this particular style of music fits Anette's voice very well, and I would certainly check out a jazz album with her if she would ever release one. I am not really much of a jazz person, although elements of jazz can sometimes be found in for instance progressive rock, a genre I absolutely am a fan of. I also appreciate the musicianship often involved when performing various forms of jazz. Heck, even the trippy music project Shpongle toured with a jazz drummer, and you really could tell from the intricate way he was playing the drums.
Hello Mr and Mrs Coach. It isn't one of my favourites songs but it is nice.sommetimes bands need rest. Nice to see again and happy Easter to everyone. ❤
that's ok, all 3 singer have diff. "sound", and that means at least 1 is "your" singer but always Nightwish 😉 (and perhaps it is Marko 🤣) I heard NW all time with Tarja and loved/love it, than Annette takes a time to enjoy because so diff. style but she does it well, and Floor can do hear style and twitch also to the other ones (🤔 mean that "Floor-Style" is all 😂) And all songs from NW are great and sometime you listen 10 times and then "click".. ohh.. thats my the sound i hear all the time in my mind
When I see Annette, I smile. Thank you for giving this song a chance. It's ok not to love every song. The ability to write and perform it commands respect and you nailed it. Enjoying your reactions and look forward to the next from this awesome band.
If Mrs Coach does prefer Floor, she also did this same song back in 2012 (in Orlando, FL) already with Nightwish, along with Emppu's shenanigans: See ruclips.net/video/1TjEfOjGdcE/видео.html
Was a fan of NW since 2003. Each era was unique because Tuomas wrote songs that suited the singers. Tarja's amazing classical vocals inspired NW to define the symphonic metal genre, Anette's silky pop/rock vocals allowed for a more folk metal sound. Personally I am not a fan of Floor's vocals but also not a fan of the subject matter of the newer NW songs. Just my personal opinion! But for me, I prefer the songs be sung by the original singers, not rehashed by the next one
Hello Coaches. Thanks again for taking time-out on your busy weekend to react to Nightwish. As others have said, Anette has a mid-range, 'poppier' style, which suits the two albums that Tuomas wrote for her. This particular song was written for a concept album which became a film (Imaginaerum) and is un-representative of the bands' back catalogue. I too am a Floor fan, as she is able to sing everything that Tuomas has written. Anette, unfortunately did not have that ability and she was really only able to sing live, songs written specifically for her. I am not a Tarja fan, but I guess you will want to react to her at some stage. She left the band Nineteen years ago (to put things into perspective). Floor has now been with NW for Eleven years! Love from England.
ruclips.net/video/rPP4PvqJ-9o/видео.htmlsi=kkcMAAHGgQtTXZOR. This is Marko singing All you ask of me Duet. Anette sounds better now at 50 than at 30. Emppu only does what the song calls for. Marko has always been an Amazing singer
This was certainly one from left field. - must admit I look forward to your weekly Nightwish reactions but felt the sting of disappointment when I saw you were reacting to this one! (Not that you you were to know ahead of time of course) seeing as you are now jumping around in terms of the Nightwish catalogue why not follow this up with the Poet and The Pendulum live in Wembley. - my logic is that you follow up a very average song with an epic and mindblowing one. Poet and the Pendulum has elements and sections that both Coach and Mrs Coach will appreciate. Super heavy music interspersed with beautiful and emotional lyrical lines.. Make up for this weeks disappointment by Delving into it next week! 😂 Greetings from New Zealand. I’m loving your channel - most especially how Mrs Coach has been seduced by this band👍🏻
A suggestion, ruclips.net/video/7naUXZVXres/видео.htmlsi=uIRRjFeEbRm5Bdma, this song is slow but heavy, has a sensational drum tempo, interaction between Floor and the incredible Buenos Aires audience, and perfect harmonizations between Floor Marco and Troy. And there are few reactors that do it. It will also show you a more current version of the band in a place that you haven't reacted to yet. Greetings from Brazil.
@@CoachCastTV Floor's first tour w Nighjtwish was in 2015/2016 for the "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album (Floor's first with Nightwish in 2015). The NEXT tour, now having Floor who can sing ANYTHING, Tuomas put together the Decades Tour a travel back in time of Nightiwish's history and back catalogue, some not performed live in YEARS!!!! For a DVD/Blu Ray release they recorded the show in Buenos Aires which is AWESOME!!! The visual and audio production and mixing is great!!!!! JUST as good of a show as the Wacken 2013 show!!!
My wife calls this the "slinky black dress" song, and that's a very good thing. That said, I don't think I'll be recommended Japan's Jazz Avengers to you.
I'm a huge Nightwish fan, but this is not on my list. If you want to hear some blue's take a listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn "Texas Flood" live at El Mocambo!!
In my opinion this is actually Annette's best song. The studio version is excellent and her generally weaker vocals aren't as prominent. She's not Floor though.
I appreciate this song because it shows the depth of ability that every member of this band has. I have always thought that this song was definitely more suited to Annette. She does a great job of it. And, Coach, thanks for mentioning Emppu. He is a master of his craft and should be much better known than he is. IMO, he is one of the best guitarists out there today.
I will probably tick off some nightwish people. But Annette in my opinion is nightwishes 2nd best singer. FLOOR being numero uno. Try her in another song like amaranth.
Not my style either. One of my personal Anette Marco favourites is Rest Calm. I know, another slow sounding title, lol but it changes up with some heavy stuff too. No live performance though. I would recommend the lyric video if you decide to do it.
Emppu can play anything but he always play what the song needs... and thats why we love him 😊
I concur.

Thank you for that suggestion. We are looking forward to hearing Tarja, as well.
I 💯% concur also with General Bardac’s suggestion ❤ the Siren is one of my favorites also. Amazing amazing unique song. ❤ ❤❤
A very unique and unusual song from Nightwish. "Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red" is another jazz flavored song with Marko and Floor. Live version of course from Wembley 2015. Or "The Islander" live from Tampere.

how gorgeous is this it is some good jazz and yes its annette
Many thanks guys for endorsing my request, like Mrs Coach says, Nightwish is so so versatile, whatever they try, they perfect !!!
One of the moust beautiful songs!❤

Definitely 😄

This is some great info. Thank you for taking time to leave such an informative comment.
On their solo tour, Floor also sings this song and I think it's better. Pls react to this too if you want.

She sang it with NW too (2012), but all the videos are fan shot.
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 But still better. Ft. Lauderdale version is magical.
@@Dipper737 Better than the trve metal hat here?🤣 Yes, absolutely!
Got to agree with this suggestion. I know its not your ideal song but really is worth a listen for comparison.
there is also anette era nightwish song meadows of heaven what sounds also difference like other nightwish product. you should listening that song and lyric version coz that studio version have original usa gospel singers, other version like live not have gospel singers. i think meadows of heaven are nightwish best song. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful sunday.
Love your reactions Coach! New Nightwish fan also, and I am following this journey with you. I like Blues & Jazz, live this song. You must react to Kiss you while your lips are still red. Sung by Marko
Thanks so much!
Marco is a really versatile singer. He won the Finnish version of “the masked singer”. As a Nightwish fan and knowing that it was him, of course I thought: how can you not recognize him.
The most impressive part of this is that he clenched the title by singing 'Gangsta's Paradise' LOL
I appreciate you. But I prefer Floors version 🤘
Floor makes everything better.
Fair enough - on this one, I prefer Anette.
@@elvwood Yep. Anette's version is far superior.
Anette version is good but I prefer Floors version, too. More dynamic and her voice fits better with Marko’s voice.
ruclips.net/video/1TjEfOjGdcE/видео.htmlsi=Dm5YByz5BwVPF91C
I prefer Floor version, she's just a better singer no disrespect to Annette
Thank youbfor the pronunciation assistance. Great comment overall. 👍
I like the jazz sound definitely different from them!
Thanks...appreciate the welcoming and well-grounded fan base.
Thank you very much! Keep on hanging in there!
I love honest reaction.. 💗..
Annette voice more to pop genre.. Every Singers has their own way..
Anette does have some jazz in her background, so yes, Tuomas wrote it taking that into consideration. Current drummer Kai Hahto also has some in his background, he helped Jukka out with the style. Coach, you're right, Emppu plays what the song needs, the entire band does too, but he does like clowning around.😁
Anette's usually is a pop/rock style. The music video for Amaranth will give you a taste of that. If you would like to see her today, she released a solo song a couple weeks ago, called "Rapture". Anette also has a day job, she is a nurse in her native Sweden.
Very cool. Such a noble profession to be a nurse. 👍
Thanks for that.
@@CoachCastTV Floor shows an entirely different side of her voice, all whisky and honey, served with a cigar.
Anette didn't have a stage presence either back then. I think THIS is the BEST stage presence she had, it's believable that she can be a Night club singer, *where's my cigar? lol
Btw - it’s TOO’-oh-moss. He’s the genius behind the greatness of Nightwish. They will have a new song out May 21, and a new album in September.
Thanks 😊
This song is not in my like list, but I still appreciate good performance.
Thanks for the insightful comments. 👍
Thanks for checking this out. Tarja there first singer has a very powerful vocals but sings more Opera/Classic, Anette there second singer sings more Pop and Floor seems to sing anything she sets her mind on.
Floor does this song incredible at her solo concerts
I concur
We appreciate this info!
@@CoachCastTV Looking forward to it 👍
A nice lounge lizard song. Lovely voice.
Thank you so much!
@CoachCastTV this version is the best version by Floor . Actually Floor's whole solo concert is a must.
You should check out Marko singing "While Your Lips Are Still Red." He has a sweet voice too - many abilities. 😊
To see a difference, Floor has sung this with Marko, too. Its great.
Annette had trouble with consistency and pitch problems singing live, but these low notes she could do quite well.
Yes, he seems to be the consummate professional. Thank you for the kind words.
I still like Floor's version better because she has a quieter voice and has better stage presence, not just because of the lack of a hat:
Floor Jansen - Slow, Love, Slow (Live)

I recommend you "the poet and the pendulum" live at wembley, for this epic journey with Nightwish
Emppu can play anything!🤘🎸
I don't like jazz, but this is definitely jazz. So i respect that how an experience.
I have the whole Nightwish catalogue, there are only two songs I removed, this is one of them (due to my personal taste). As always I appreciate all their musicality . If anyone reads this I am open to guesses what the other song is. Btw it is constantly amazing that out of their entire library I only dislike two!!!
I like everything with Floor only..

It's good👍. Emppu👌.
I heard now the versions from Anette and Floor. I have to admit that this was good, but i prefer the version of Floor. For some reason it sounds more jazzy
Please listen to the Pink Floyd cover of “High Hopes” with Nightwish. You will NOT regret it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Also…you can not overlook “The Poem and the Pendulum” and “The Greatest Show on Earth” by Nightwish. All 3 should be heard in the live versions.
Please check out the version with Floor singing this. Floor is the ultimate in Nightwish.
If you want to see Anette "Unrestrained" then check out 'Bye Bye Beautiful'. A song written in the backlash of Tarja's firing. It's definitely not slow, slow 😁
LOL, thanks!
Well this is not one for my playlist, I just discovered turn loose the mermaids sung by Annette and I love it
Hi y'all next song with annette you should listen to is crow owl and dove. It's a good song
I prefer the Goddess that is Floor 😊.
Don't care so much for Annette or Tarja but that is my preference. 😊
Well done😁 if you want a total other side of Anette try out "songs the night sings“ that is from her after nightwish. The Band is called" the dark element "coach will enjoy 😉 greets from Germany, Martin
Thanks for the suggestion!
And then there is Annette......That about sums it up for me.
We must keep in mind that they were playing at a jazz festival. There were probably folks in the crowd who were not familiar with Nightwish. I think that it's safe to say romanticide would have been a little bit loud for the crowd.
😂 For sure.
Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. We appreciate you watching.
Floor also sings this song alsoduring her AFAS performance in Amsterdam..try this one and (don't) compare them..
Us Americans would phonetically spell it (TOO-AH-mas as in christmas)
Halloween is definitely a classic music score in terms of horror movies, for sure.
@@CoachCastTV Yeah, John Carpenter FTW! 😃 Not only an iconic horror director, but his music definitely has its place in film history as well!

Thank you! 😊
that's ok, all 3 singer have diff. "sound", and that means at least 1 is "your" singer but always Nightwish 😉 (and perhaps it is Marko 🤣)
I heard NW all time with Tarja and loved/love it, than Annette takes a time to enjoy because so diff. style but she does it well, and Floor can do hear style and twitch also to the other ones (🤔 mean that "Floor-Style" is all 😂) And all songs from NW are great and sometime you listen 10 times and then "click".. ohh.. thats my the sound i hear all the time in my mind
When I see Annette, I smile. Thank you for giving this song a chance. It's ok not to love every song. The ability to write and perform it commands respect and you nailed it. Enjoying your reactions and look forward to the next from this awesome band.
Thanks so much. We can recognize the immense talent even if a song doesn't resonate with us. We look forward to more from them.
I personally love this song. The studio/video version is better. But another great song with Annette is Scaretale.
I'm a Floor fan, but Annette is good in this one (also like the Floor-version)
floor jansen sings this to!
If Mrs Coach does prefer Floor, she also did this same song back in 2012 (in Orlando, FL) already with Nightwish, along with Emppu's shenanigans: See ruclips.net/video/1TjEfOjGdcE/видео.html
Thomas tailored songs often to the singers voice
We certainly do want to check our Tarja for sure. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment.
Great reaktion :)
Im glad you reacted to this one just for an Annette taste. Then all it does is want you to go back Floor...lol
😂 Yeah!
ruclips.net/video/rPP4PvqJ-9o/видео.htmlsi=kkcMAAHGgQtTXZOR.
Greetings from New Zealand. I’m loving your channel - most especially how Mrs Coach has been seduced by this band👍🏻
Thanks. Yeah, we know this wasn't for everyone, and knew it going in but we wanted to see this lead singer and it seemed a good time to do it.
Thank you. We'll make note of this.
@@CoachCastTV Floor's first tour w Nighjtwish was in 2015/2016 for the "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album (Floor's first with Nightwish in 2015).
Despite not going crazy on this song in any way, he made a huge impact on it. A very memorable part for him.
@@CoachCastTV We talk a lot about Floor's versatility but the whole band are consummate musicians that can do anything they set their mind to.

I appreciate honesty, and in the spirit of honesty, I have to tell you that I dont like this song... I do really love Nightwish though!
We appreciate that. Honesty is the best policy. And we really enjoy this band, as well.
Appreciate that recommendation. We do want to hear more from her at some point.
