Quick question, I just installed my GTV kit and everything works perfectly but when I try to do the flywheel the wheel spins really fast, how can I fix that ?
Pretty cool, one thing I don't understand is why the VESC climbs hills better than normal onewheel. The only explanation is that the VESC allows battery to drain faster.
odd place for this comment - but there's 2 reasons: 1) FM controllers have very conservative current limits to protect them from overheating, 2) VESC firmware includes a feature that lets you raise the nose of the board automatically when you're on an uphill (or lower the nose on downhills, making them much safer than on FM boards)
@@gannonboyd6962Mine does the same. I've tried dozens of times. I'm told it has to do with not balancing it perfectly before initiating Flywheel, or needing a better IMU calibrating. Not the case for me. The manual method doesn't work for me either. I'm determined to get it working! I love my new vesc XR. THANKS Dado for all the hard work that has gone into Vesc Tool.
I seem to have an issue getting Flywheel to work after a vesc install on my XR. Board seems to be working fine except I did a 'flywheel' test and it doesn't balance. My wheel starts to balance momentarily then the wheel spin speeds up abruptly in one direction and increases to super fast and the balancing fails in about 1 second. Can this be an indication that some settings may be off somewhere else? Thanks for any help!
@@barrymonteiro8893 this isn’t too uncommon. Flywheel just doesn’t work for everyone out of the box. But with Float Control you have the ability to tune the Flywheel settings to make your board work. Still no guarantees though
I'm going to borrow an iPhone to use the settings available in Float control's Magic. Are there specific settings to use in Magic for Flywheel or are the settings board specific? I see you have Flywheel- P: 6.0 Flywheel - RateP: 0.35 Duty Tiltback Angle 1.0 etc. Can I use these settings or do you have to adjust them based on your boards behavior or something else? Thanks for any help. My board wants to join the Flywheel club! @surfdado
@@surfdado I finally got the Flywheel working! It works with Vesc tool and the Android app. I don't have an IOS device. Interestingly it doesn't activate when I attempt to initiate it manually with the sensor pad left, right, left, right sequence. At least I've joined the club being able to do the best vesc Party Trick! 😃
i can see that you have a pint bumper on the front of the pintx to allow the float plate to screw in but how do you get it to work with the rear bumper? would love to have a float plate on my pintx like this.
Also, it seems to motor cuts out too early in one direction and doesn’t try to kick it back over, is this one of the settings on the magic page? Do those settings update automatically or do you need to apply them somehow?
After some practice and luck I was able to get it down better! And thank you so much for all your contributions and the amazing float control app Dado! I’d love it if there were some way to donate or give back to you or the other contributors, you guys have done amazing things! Let me know if there’s anything like that!
looks cool i tried it and my board just went spazzy fast in both either direction it was tilted does that mean my settings are incorrect do you think ?
What a cool feature. Thanks for all the R&D you've done to make this more available to the rest of us. You sir are a god among insects.
With your vast fortune from all this VESC development, I expect to soon see that store changed to Dado’s Liquor.
I think it's justified to now start all your videos with Hi kids after all the awesome stuff you've done 😂🎉
Nice! Thank you so much for all 🙏🏻💫
Thanks for also showing the Android way!
Hi my board nose dip sometimes at speeds it’s a pint S , with pint v kit , follow your boring VESC tutorial😎 thanks for everything you do
Hi Dad! 🤣 Thanks for the nice feature
We all love you dado
Awesome! You might have to consider a change from surfdado to floatdado now 😂👍
So sick!
Hi ! It’s so cool 👍🤘🙏🤙
This is amazing
VESC has changed the game
That is so FLY!
Cell Draining Winter Mode: Activated
Love it ❤! Are you running the stock tire on that pint x?
enduro (backwards hehe)
Would be a cool trick to jump onto the board when it’s in flywheel mode! Although im sad i can’t kick the board when it’s vertical

When I try to do the flywheel mode on my Floatwheel the wheel spins too fast to balance.
My board does this as well, did you ever find a fix?
@@gannonboyd6962 I re did the imu set up & now it has no issues doing the magic flywheel
Mine does the same fast spin and fails to balance as well.@@gannonboyd6962

@surfdado how can I get Float Control?
Didn't see it in the Playstore.
[Edit: I got it's an Apple product]
@ yeah sorry, convince Simon to add it to Floaty 😛

remember onewheel?
It'd be cool if we could put an extra button on the board somewhere to program in modes like this one button click
You can press the foot pads to activate it too. Left, right, left, right

for the rear I used glue only, just like TFL's PintX float plates
You know you can tap the foot pads left, right, left, right to initiate the flywheel mode

My vescXR wants to balance front end down rather than tail end down, any ideas?
Also, it seems to motor cuts out too early in one direction and doesn’t try to kick it back over, is this one of the settings on the magic page? Do those settings update automatically or do you need to apply them somehow?
The settings update every time you hit Flywheel ON. Each board can be a little different.

When you start make sure the board is practically balanced on its own. Poor IMU calibration can make this difficult
I wish it was easier to build one of these.
whats the controller your using in the pintx?
Trampa 6 75 - there’s a video about it
👍
That's dope what is your mileage on this pintx vesc
I’ve put maybe 150 miles on it since we converted it. It had about 500 when I bought it
@@surfdado how many miles per charge on the pintx vesc
@@me_josh I’ve never checked on the PintX but I’d expect it to be similar to what you’d get on an FM PintX. It’s still the same battery and motor

where can i buy this in europe?
Buy what exactly? Plenty of info on pev.dev about VESC though
What app is this on..?
Float Control (iPhone only)

careful in wet parts with a non waterproof board :P fiiiiiireeee !!! I know it by experience lol
that's why I went 1mph so that water doesn't splash up from the tire - I'm not letting water get anywhere near my electronic parts
Lol the french guy 😂🥲🔥
WTF!!😳
Love how your son corrected you and you promptly replied too bad so sad, I like flywheel better 😂
Perfect metaphor for engineering versus marketing 🤣
Sweet
Cause I always leave my $4000 board. Sitting out spinning when I go in the liquor store
So cool!
