This is the Sony CFS-1000S, year of production 1987, in 1950 boomboxes didn't even exist, there were no integrateds, there were no audio cassettes, there were the legendary valve radios and turntables for vinyl records, however congratulations for this recovery and restoration
We don't have plastic casing for the radio in 1950's. It's either like a size of a suitcase or heavier than 5 kilos. But you've done an excellent work. What a great talent you have.
There is no way this stereo unit dates back to 1950. The first compact cassette was released in 1965. Boomboxes didn't exist in the world until they appeared in Japan in 1970; they were usually too large to carry. The stereo unit also had a small integrated TV screen. Boomboxes became available worldwide in 1980. This unit has advanced electronics, and I doubt that capacitors existed 70 years ago. If they existed, they weren't small like these. The electronics industry in Malaysia has also not developed enough to produce speakers. At that time, they were produced only in Europe, Japan, the Eastern Bloc, and Yugoslavia. Sony began manufacturing audio equipment in 1970. The first device they made in 1957 was a rice cooker.
Capacitors were around 70 years ago, but they were the paper & wax types, which were prone to failure. I replaced hundreds of them in the old vacuum tube type radios, as I owned a few. My very first radio was a vacuum tube job. First thing I did to it, with my father's help was replace the capacitors. There was portable boom box type radios around too, & these were vacuum tube units. Batteries at the time didn't last long. Sony were making audio gear long before 1970, except they didn't export many items from Japan. Sony were selling stuff here in Australia several years after WW2, & certainly well before 1957.
..and no spray paint visible on body, speakers magically "like new" after ripping apart membranes and coils, tuning wheel mounting bracket during disassembly broken, magically fixed when assembling...😅
reverse condition video, working tape on the end video is the real condition and recorded first before he damage the plastic case and throw to the trash for repair... and then... reversing proses begin...hahahahaha
This model existed upto the year 2000. Even before that in 1996 my dad bought hybrid music system having both casette as well as compact disc. After CDs became affordable these casette players became obsolete. This may be from 1970's or 1980's time because my maternal uncle owned one of these.
I have the same exact model and I used to scratch this Sony model using cassette tapes. I took out the tape cover for easy access and voila, my friends were impressed at me for scratching and mixing on this oldschool gear! I found a way to mix and match songs using the pinch roller, nudge it to speed up and slow it down by pressing the middle part of the rotator. Definitely not from the 50s but from the late 80s!
Use google to learn how fake this video is. For a "portable" ghettoblaster in the 50's you would need a hell of a forklift truck to haul it around. And a half ton of lead accid battery to make it work for 30 minutes. Stop making this videos to gain money.
I would like to cordial request to 'Mr.Kenichiro Yoshida' CEO of 'Sony Corporation' to reward this man who dynamically restored the 'sony sound system & speaker' 1950's (almost 73 years ago!!) model. Which he has collected it from garbage & successfully repaired it. Many thanks to that technician.
