  • The Kunda-Nqob’iTB (KN-TB) programme was a 5-year Cooperative Agreement between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Union Zimbabwe Trust (UZT) under the TB Local Organization Network (TB-LON) funding mechanism. TB-LON is part of USAID’s Global Accelerator initiative to end TB globally through funding local organizations in priority countries to implement locally generated solutions to improve TB prevention, diagnosis and care services. The lead partner in Zimbabwe is UZT, with three other local organizations as implementing partners, namely Baines Occupational Health Services (BOHS), Jointed Hands Welfare Organization (JHWO) and Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Zimbabwe (HOSPAZ).
The US$15 million, 5-year (2019 -2024) programme sought to improve TB prevention, diagnosis and care services across eight priority districts with high disease burden for TB, gaps in treatment outcomes and high concentration of artisanal mining activities. These are namely; Chirumanzu, Gwanda, Gweru, Insiza, Kwekwe, Mwenezi, Shurugwi and Zvishavane.
The project was officially closed and handed over to the Government of Zimbabwe on 25 September, 2024.

I hope and wish there will be a follow on program to build on from this legacy. Congratulations to everybody who was part of this program. The impact is real.
