Do you have ANY idea how hard it was to cultivate a personality in the mid 90s😂! You had to search hard, set your VCR to record 120mintues to see NEW unique bands like this! MTV was once upon a time cool!😂😂
I hate to see your broken face This world would give you anything As long as you will want to As long as you will want to I hate your state of hopelessness And that vain articulateness Your loser type wreck wanna be Not a pretty sight really In another world it'd be funny I hate to see your broken face A lazy life of fatal waste Of fashionable cynicism The poison, they want you to drink Oh no man, that's too easy Oh no man, that's so easy We weren't talking 'bout happiness Apply your leading potential To be useful to this planet The world would give you anything As long as you will want to As long as you will want to I hate to see your broken face A lazy life of fatal waste Of fashionable cynicism The poison, they want you to drink Oh no man, that's so easy Oh no man, that's too easy We weren't talking 'bout happiness Apply your leading potential To be useful to this planet The world would give you anything As long as you will want to As long as you will want to
Stereolab were introduced to me in the summer of 1995, I was sleeping on a couples sofa a few nights a week, she was called Miriam & was from Paris.Played them frequently an despite myself, I began to like the Stereolab sound.
When Stereolab came out with this song in the summer of 1996 I began having interest in them. I like their sound because it's like synth-pop and electronic.
I've seen a ton of shows from a huge range of genres over 35 years and seeing Stereolab in 2006 in a small venue is still at the top of the list for the most energy and excitement and groove I've ever witnessed performers generate in a crowd. That show hit harder and rocked harder than even any rock/hard rock/metal/thrash show I've ever been to.✊
I didn't listen to stereolab much, but hearing this woman's voice raised my brows because I heard it before - so I wikied the group and found it... Monade !! I love Monade, so now I'll be listening to more stereolab
@@ibelieveicansoar but truly what could be more proto punk than the motorik krautrock that they were emulating? just ask john lydon, bowie and iggy! i feel people tend to overlook the tremendous influence that klaus dinger’s drumming had on punk.
Love the song..love the video..loved stereolab early on but kinda lost track after transient random noise bursts.. Looks like i'll be diving back in and catching up after hearing this..
@@t.c.bramblett617 Out of all the Stereolab albums to shout out you picked the one where the band completely ran out of ideas. Peak Stereolab is everything between and including TRNBWA and Sound-Dust (except Mars Audiac Quintent arguably).

This is so accurate!🤣
4ad was a gateway drug
Plus we read a TON of books
This is the smoothest punk music.
Thanks to Stereolab, the carpets in my home are so noisy all the fleas have gone away! And the areas rugs too!
I hate to see your broken face
This world would give you anything
As long as you will want to
As long as you will want to
I hate your state of hopelessness
And that vain articulateness
Your loser type wreck wanna be
Not a pretty sight really
In another world it'd be funny
I hate to see your broken face
A lazy life of fatal waste
Of fashionable cynicism
The poison, they want you to drink
Oh no man, that's too easy
Oh no man, that's so easy
We weren't talking 'bout happiness
Apply your leading potential
To be useful to this planet
The world would give you anything
As long as you will want to
As long as you will want to
I hate to see your broken face
A lazy life of fatal waste
Of fashionable cynicism
The poison, they want you to drink
Oh no man, that's so easy
Oh no man, that's too easy
We weren't talking 'bout happiness

This the song that made me fall in love with stereolab!
You should hear there earlier stuff
Marvellous song from a marvellous and unique band...
I absolutely love their sound......just found them out ....
I totally missed out on them......
These lyrics say it all
Late night watching Rage in Australia in grade 10 and this came on and the world was changed forever. Still so amazing
Can we be friends?🤠

One of my favorite Stereolab songs
I've always loved them, but recently started paying attention to their lyrics. A new dimension of awesomness.

Just Peeped this CD...
Pure FIYAH. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Couldn't have made a more suitable video for such a delightful song!
One of my favorites.
If I am not mistaken they have an avant garde style.

Stereolab, lo máximo ❤️
amo demais!
Amo demais demais!
I love this song. It was pretty punky for them
did u listen to the first 2 albums ?
I thought that about this song back in the late ‘90s, but now I view it as a slightly heavier variation on their usual krautrock recipe

this is one of the most interesting music videos ive seen
SOOOO EXCITED to see you play on the 13th in Denver.
I was SOOO stuck on stoopid back in 94 and missed you back then.
Dream come true even without M.
Today this song was in my mundo and I was trying to remember it, I tried to seach lyrics, but nothing, and then I hum the song, it worked 😍😍😍😍
Here for this on 4/8/2020 as Bernie Sanders suspends his campaign.
Feeling this truer than ever right now.
So true it hurts like shit.
Broke my heart -
Whaaaa.
And even still 2 years later
Marvelous
Jadore Stereolab!

I was reflecting on the fact this song was the one that retained their earlier sound the most from this album iirc
Chemical Chords (2008) is really good, from my view (not sure if this view shared by most fans but I really like it)

Cracking, this is… ✨
Thanks!
Este tema esta buenísimo, ademas la banda y el video estan bien ambientado en la década de los 30 y un pequeño homenaje a Dalí ese excéntrico Artista.
Fuckin' amazing.
Cybele’s Reverie video, no?
1080p please!
November 10....live show in Rome

i just realized this was probably inspired by Uday Shankar's videos
the lyrics rule
I cannot listen to this song and not be happy.
fashionable cynicism
Glad it's not just me...
I hate to see your broken face
A lazy life of fatal waste
Of fashionable cynicism
The poison, they want you to drink
