I love how tough you are with your ED!! That’s how I FINALLY had to overcome my ED…..by having enough of it, getting angry at it, and going against everything it would tell me not to do. (Kind of like being a rebellious teenager!😂) I tried at first to take my recovery very slowly and not push myself very much. What ended up happening is that almost a year went by and I STILL hadn’t made much progress and because of that I started to relapse again. It wasn’t until I finally got angry and started constantly doing the complete opposite of my ED thoughts that true recovery began to happen. I promise you that it will keep getting easier and easier the more you “fight” against it!❤️

AHHHH im so proud of u for having that pasta. u inspire me so much to keep carrying on with recovery. well done alyce, it genuinely makes me so emotional seeing u get through this as it makes me feel like i can do this too and that its ok to have scary foods too (currently sitting with guilt from having an unplanned big cup of hot chocolate, so watching this helped). im honestly so happy for u. keep going because u r doing so amazing and we r al here cheering u on

I am in the same situation so know how well you done here, and hopefully the more we challenge the more normal stuff will be. The museum looked pretty cool too.

Wow Alyce, you where and are so amazing. Most people wouldn’t think twice about eating out, but when your in recovery, restaurant food seems like the devil in our minds. And I can definitely speak from experience. This challenge showed how amazing and how strong and determined you are and I am absolutely so proud of you! I can’t wait to see you challenge restaurant food again and all the yummy food you will eat in the future.
This video is actually perfect timing for me because I just got home from a 3 day road trip. I have challenged restaurant food before on other trips, but not often, and I was much sicker then which made it extremely hard and I ate most of the food I brought instead of ordering something. But this time I brought a lot less food, though I still brought some, and I was able to eat more restaurant food and it was just an all together better experience and I was able to enjoy the food without a lot of fear. (Though I still felt some fear) Eating at a restaurant definitely isn’t the same yet for me, but watching you crush the pasta makes me determined to someday get back to ordering anything I want at a restaurant and participating in eating out with my family. So I just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one challenging eating at a restaurant. We are in this together!!
Lastly, thank you for countering every time you mentioned how much food you had. I have a bad habit of doing that too and I think it’s really important to catch myself when I say that and correct my thinking. Because that is not a lot of food. It may be more than usual for other people, it may not be enough for some people. Everyone is different and each person’s body has different nutritional needs. And especially for us that are recovering from anorexia, our bodies are screaming for more food and we need a lot more fuel and nutrients because we have literally starved ourselves. I hope that both of us someday get to get to the point where we can both eat intuitively and eat until we’re full without worrying about the amount.
Remember: You are Loved. You are Worthy. You are enough. ❤

Just started watching and btw I am eating pasta for lunch right now, WITH beans (because we need to get all the food groups in each meal, protein here!) and a sauce. It's a MASSIVE bowl too... Perhaps next pasta time you could try with a Bolognese sauce as the meat and have spaghetti, and try tortellini cheese pasta or ravioli! (With an alfredo sauce or pesto!)
You are so strong Alyce! I actually like pasta and always have haha, and while I did go a while without it or just didn't have that much of it, when I jumped in and decided to get well again I made myself include all grains again (rice, pasta, bread, buns, pastries, baked goods, cereal, granola, oats, crackers, wraps, pitas, etc.) and now they are just a staple! When thinking of a meal I think 'ok which grain will I go with? Ok then which protein? How can I add some fats to this? (sauces, butter, oil, cream) and for flavor ofc and just because it's normal to add butter to bread or sauces! It's not 'extra' at all. And then dairy and alternatives of course and desserts.
Pasta is no different than the other things you have eaten, it's all good food! What's bad is the ED and how it fears it. But there is nothing wrong with pasta. It's just food :) and you are allowed to eat all foods.
So proud of you for doing this! And boy am I glad to see that you finished the bowl. When I heard you say how big it was (it wasn't that big haha) I was worried that you were therefore not going to finish it. But, when you did I was like YASSSS!!! Because, we do need to finish everything. I finish everything I plate (and even go back for more at times!). Because, it's our prescription. We don't question it. Just gotta do it and get it down.
You are a fighter girl!! You so got this. Keep going and keep up the challenges! (It's the only way through) xxx
