I've only ever tried crochet twice in my life and I just made this for my little ginger cat (nugget). I messed up in a few places but it's not noticeable, I've never made anything apart from a straight line before so thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial
@@LittleGemsCreations1 I realised my cheap Chinese wool make it more difficult, I bought some decent wool and remade it and I'm really happy with it, I've gotten to grips with crocheting thanks to this video, my cat drags her jumper to me to get me to put it on so she definitely likes it

I have been trying to find a simple easy pattern as I haven't crocheted in over 25 years and have a cat I love dearly and we live in the Northwest Washington State and it rally gets cold here. I just rescued a kitty and shew as so matted she had to be sedated to be shaved. I couldn't remove the matts myself since they were to her skin. She is so tiny and so I'm going to make this to see if she will tolerate wearing it. Hopefully she will. I'm keeping my place a bit warmer right now for her.

Could I do this with big fluffy yarn? My cat is loosing his fur to mats and I want him to be warm since he’s so old. I have a yarn that looks almost identical to his fur but it’s pretty bulky

Do you think I could measure it on my cat already after the chain? Like seeing if the circumference is right and then based on that adapt the number of stitches for the back and front part ☺️

I've tried this pattern 10 times, and for the life of me when I do the chest part, there's a gap of about 8 stitches after I add the 20 HDC. I counted every single row, and can't for the life of me get it. 😥
Why would a cat want to wear a sweater? Most animals find clothing binding and restrictive. I don't agree with it. How would you like having something you don't like stuck on you? Treating animals like dolls. Think about it.

You could try but you may have to use a bigger hook size. But the bulk may make it the same size even with the bigger hook. Let me know if it works

You absolutely could. Measure your chain around the widest part of the chest and waist. I hope this helps. 🌹

4 ply medium weight yarn. Roll the yarn in your fingers and see how many strands it has. This will tell you if it’s 4 ply.

My daughter has a hairless cat and he loves the warmth of a sweater. I think it just depends on the animals temperament.
I have some cats that are not as fat as others and they will shiver until I put them under the blanket
