Good Morning Blue!🍵 Talking coins in general, first we got screwed over by coinagegoing clad, then some day by all digital, hacker paradise! I don't care to leave it all behind any sooner than I have to, but I doubt I will have to contend with digital!
Can you tell me, I have 5 UC. 1950 D ,beautiful toning, what are they worth, just so a coin shop does not rip me off? My grandfather put them in plastic holders back in 1950 and they are something else man. Perfect, should I grade them. I took 2 of them to a local shop and the dude offered 15 dollars apiece, but when I declined, he looked like he was pissed.
BRSh the 39 no ment mark isn't nothing, is it silver? 48,54,56,are just old? My Apologies for the Newb questions hope I don't make u mad! I enjoy listening to you advice and teachings! Keep up the Good work
I'VE got a 1904 Jefferson nickle! There is a die error from the rim that a piece covers the tail of the number 6, making a 1964 nickle look like a 1904 nickel Has anyone ever seen one like this?
I recently bought a 1950d Jefferson nickel for my album I just started and it's a really nice coin probably ms64 at least and I paid $13 after shipping.
I have a misshapened die error struck on a 1957 Jefferson nickel planchet where the top of the obverse of Jefferson's hair is smashed into a small half circle above his head. And on the bottom the reverse where the word US of A words are, they are smashed and flattened below at the back of that same half circle. I knew nothing about errors/varieties till recently. The plan is to have some local coin collector take a look.
Started going thru my nickels few days back & believe found a 57d ddo in the word "Five" but can't find one to compare to..looking thru Wexlers anyway. Any thoughts where i might find more info? Also what would be considered an acceptable +/- variable weight when weighing not only nickels but coins in general? Asking because am not a lot familiar with different planchet weights for different denominations but do & have come across coins that to me doesn't fit the spec information i use quite a bit..referring to Wikipedia. Anyhoots i could ask much much more but have taken enough of your time by reading so hope didn't bore you lol! Have a good weekend i'm going back to nickel searching!
Came across 1959d Jefferson Nickle. The coin appears to have a wire rim error which produced a partial collar. In looking at coin under USB magnification it appears, to me, to show all steps on reverse. Does coin have value and how to determine value?
I have a 1959 roll of nickels I purchased on a auction at eBay that was unidentifiable role of nickels after getting them and researching them I noticed that the role was a d over s and I need to find someone to take a look at it for me I cannot find anyting in the books on this I'm talking about gyms touched D over s 1959 nickels and I have a 1959,61,74 full steps
Michael Bean I would search fairly local coin shops and see if they deal with pennies nickels dimes etc.! I have been to a total of 4 LCS local coin shops, and only one dealt with pennies, nickels, and dimes etc. I live in Washington state about an hour from Seattle… Where on the map are you?
Another good video brother. I love Jeffersons from the standpoint that as you said, the deisgn hasnt changed much since 1938 and there's still enough early date coins left in circulation to keep nickel hunting exciting. Thanks for sharing. See ya in the next one.
I found my first 1950-D in a bank roll about a year and a half ago I didn't realize at the time that it was the lowest minted nickel in the whole series.
Hey, my friend out there, look what i've found a Jefferson Nickel that has no mint mark both side of the coin. Dated 1965. What can you say about it ? I want to hear from you guys.
1965, 1966, and 1967 were a set of years that all coins from One Cent, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Half-Dollars were all from Philadelphia. So, no mintmark. 1968 and after they went back to producing more from Denver and San Francisco, San Francisco only being for business strike for a short time. Denver of course, business strike. It is complicated, but look up on those three years if you're new.
I’ve got a 1950D full steps I’m thinking about sending in for grading.
For sure should
I found a very shiny looks like new no mint mark 1957 nickle with very detailed full steps the other day.

I have a few Nickels 1944 P 1963,1964 Nickels
Surprised the 39 Philadelphia wasn't minted since that mint put out less then the other 2 and they have the wavy step as well as the straight step
I have Five cent 1964 d
Does the nickel with the D mark at the top of monument have value 1945
I have all them but don't know anything about them

I have one that doesn't have a mm and can't find any information about it.
Very nice I found my 50-D in the 60s. Dad and I would look for coins. I hope to get my grandkids into looking for History in coins.

A war nick is worth a $1? I thought not even that much based solely on silver content.
