Coming from a guy that uses Deviantart and occasionally reads fanfics, this episode actually gave me a bit of a chuckle. Actually, no. I was bursting with laughter this episode. Loved every bit of it.

Uhm, there was a time (before The Scam came out) when the official ship name for Darwin and Carrie was on discussion. However, not short after said episode came out, everyone agreed it would be 'Carwin'. And now that Darwin himself adressed it like that, more or less it's official.

Sage Marchand I know that don't get me wrong it's great for what it is but gumball just takes a bigger risk by using completely different animation styles and blending them all together and not to mention that IT'S A KIDS SHOW and they can be just as dirty as South Park at times while still dodging the censors. That to me is what good writing is.

Sage Marchand yeah it's very flexible because the only big story arc this show had was the void and that was very well put together not to mention it was still hilarious and had a lot of fourth wall breaks. This show is something you can instantly pick up on and get invested in the characters. You either love it for it's diverse cast of characters, it's outstanding comedy, or it's unique and great animation. And it'll make you appreciate the more serious moments even more as it makes our characters more 3-dimensional and relatable so you can have an even more fun time watching them.
Gonna be honest that Gumball x Darwin moment was horrifying mainly because people actually do ship siblings. Basically if two guys have any sort of acknowledgment of each other no matter if they’re brothers or not they are automatically shipped. Same goes for about every other gender but the weirdest of ships always end up being guys. (Darwin x Gumball, Jake x Finn, hell there’s even Dipper x Stan)
Brain. They are not actual brothers, tho, so it's fine(?) 😂 Kid, we ship for the "chemistry" between the characters, not only if they are guys. A lot of shippers prefer straight couples. Some are not ok to me but we're not here to shame anyone...

Darwin is basically an adopted child making him his brother. And it's weird regardless of how anyone tries to explain it. And literally no one ships for "chemistry" this episode was basically shipping in a nutshell, random ass people put together as a couple whether they have any sort of chemistry or not.
I think some girl said that the purple Darwin characters was hers on DA. But took it the wrong way thinking they were making fun of her for being autistic. Which isn't true. The writers of the show aren't making fun of her or anyone's OC. They're just having fun in a good way with this

It is a little disrespectful to directly reference a fan to make a joke, but I don't believe that they meant to be disrespectful. They meant to satirize the fanbase itself, not specific people. Who knows, maybe this is a coincidence, and if so, the fact that a fan stepped forward and claimed their OC was used would show that the show has very accurately judged the OC fan artists. The joke was in how rapidly and aggressively she was writing, and the fact she wasn't even remotely trying to mask it. Remember: Light was a master of subterfuge when he wrote in the Death Note... Mikami was a madman scrawling into it.

This episode is so full of roasts! As soon as I saw the terrible Gumball OCs I knew I was sold on this episode. Really, this is the EXACT same stuff I saw from the Gumball fanbase on Deviantart. I also like that it roasted Carball! I know some people still ship it, and it's all good fun, but people get pretty out of hand with non-canon ships and fan fictions and fan art, and it's just hilarious to see The Amazing World of Gumball's take on it. It makes me so satisfied that they're also seeing what I've put up with being part of the Gumball fanbase 🤣😂 But look, I have written fan fictions and such, so it's not like I'm not at least a little bit part of the satire. Tawog has proven again that they are very aware what their fans, critics, and/or copycats are doing, and I love that they're not afraid to show it. Grand episode!

I personally think this episode not just to make fun of shipping fanfiction or fanart, but also had a deeper metaphor saying that shipping fan can not be stop in anyway possible. Think about it, in this episode Gumball and Darwin tried to stop the ships Sarah create to continue exist, they tearing up character, break them up, burn them, twist them, flat-out destroy them in everyway possible, but non of the things they do stop them exist. Like the humanoid Darwin still "alive" after everything Sarah done to him. To me, it seems to be writor indicate that fan will continue to create whatever the shipping fanfiction or fan art they like, no matter how terrible they are, how people making fun of them, destroy them, got angry and cry out for them(like Darwin did), the shipping can not be stop. But in the end, non of them really matter, because it was all just fanfiction.

This episode just had me in tears pretty much from the get-go. It was so funny, and it was so accurate. They balanced the show's good sense of humor, the expectations we get imaging people like Sarah, and even some of the cringe factor inherent to pretty much every fandom. It was all done so perfectly.

I personally think this episode not just to make fun of shipping fanfiction or fanart, but also had a deeper metaphor saying that shipping fan can not be stop in anyway possible.
Think about it, in this episode Gumball and Darwin tried to stop the ships Sarah create to continue exist, they tearing up character, break them up, burn them, twist them, flat-out destroy them in everyway possible, but non of the things they do stop them exist. Like the humanoid Darwin still "alive" after everything Sarah done to him. To me, it seems to be writor indicate that fan will continue to create whatever the shipping fanfiction or fan art they like, no matter how terrible they are, how people making fun of them, destroy them, got angry and cry out for them(like Darwin did), the shipping can not be stop.
But in the end, non of them really matter, because it was all just fanfiction.

This episode just had me in tears pretty much from the get-go. It was so funny, and it was so accurate. They balanced the show's good sense of humor, the expectations we get imaging people like Sarah, and even some of the cringe factor inherent to pretty much every fandom. It was all done so perfectly.
