A friend of mine who was born and lived all her life in Idaho, she said that she does not mind people from california, as long as they leave their liberal politics/policies in california before moving to Idaho.
I went to Mich. Last winter after buying the appropriate clothing on Amazon. Walmart doesn't carry it here. I had a great time and stayed warm. If we move to Idaho, I promise to vote for a Republican. What bothers me though, is when they turn out to be RINO's. You know, like McCain, Romney, Flake, etc. Hopefully, Trump is running them off.
@@fordtechchris yeah man. Libertarianism ideals almost completely match up with conservative ideals. Just don't be socialist or leftist and we are all good to go.
I can see the effect Californians are having even in my little town.. if i wanted to live in California i would have moved there.. no they vote in ways that are not conservative ,,, and they want things they thought where great in Cali and it is a slippery slope..
Moved out of California last summer and work moved me up to Idaho in the Boise area. I love Idaho and completely agree with both main points in the video. The anti-California sentiment is very real in Idaho from the people born and raised there, but they are scarce which is unfortunate. In general, people are much nicer in Idaho when compared to California. I still could not get rid of my CA license and license plates fast enough though.
@Rocky mountain investigator of mysterious sighting You have plenty of life long ID residents who are bleeding heart liberals..... check out "pod help idaho"
@Rocky mountain investigator of mysterious sighting you are not a proper hunter. You sit on your computer all day and you type out insults and responses to people. Us libtards are invading Idaho .
It sure does suck for natives that California's are moving here. It's so expensive being from idaho. Use to pay 600 now I pay 1200. And pay sucks in idaho.
I'm from idaho. I am in Idaho right now. I say stay out of idaho, if you ignore my warning and do move here, DO NOT TRY AND CHANGE HOW THINGS ARE RUN HERE. If you don't agree.......LEAVE!
Im from Cali and planning to move to Idaho because Cali politics suck like Democrats and liberals I'm not down with my birth state. But we want TRUMP for 2020 and Beyond for President of the United States of America FOR THE GLORY OF YAHWEH.
You hit the nail on the head. I’m still in California and looking to move to Idaho because of the leftist politics in California and the outrageous taxes and cost of living! Couldn’t agree more! California is becoming an insane zest pool of liberal anti patriotism! I just can’t in good conscience raise my children here!
I would say move if it would make you happy, but people here are extremely closed minded and might not except you (which I hate). You have the right to be wherever you want so if it’s worth it to you go for it!
Stay away, please. You guys are ruining Idaho for us. You don't mean to, but Californians are making it impossible for us to live where we were born and raised. Driving up the costs of rent/mortgage while our base salary pay stays the same. I don't give a f about politics, I care about my kids being able to afford to live here when they get done with their education.
@@groowanderer You don't give an F about politics? Yikes, that's scary. And, no, we aren't going to stay away just because people like you whine about it.
California is not Idaho. If the ratio of guns to people were the same in both statds, Idaho would be fine. But California is so overcrowded it would be chaos for any law enforcement to organize. That's why both states have their own legislation. Don't confine people to a state that's real freedom.
I'm from Folsom and its literally the last conservative city in the county. But I would give up everything in the world to move to another state such as Idaho. POLITICS IN CALIFORNIA IS KILLING ME.
We left California because of the cost and political liberal direction, more so the latter. We are conservatives that love President Trump and move to Idaho Falls. We should have left a long time ago.
Agreed. Too many California and Texas people moving in and driving up the cost for locals to work even harder to make ends meet I'm glad I left . Traffic is bumper to bumper. Rude @$$ California drivers. Think they own everything. At least the midwest people who have decided to call Idaho home are very pleasant .
@@JohnKrill well said from a non-native Idahoan. It's become very much like any sprawling city in California which is the point. Since you missed that part. Make no mistake, I LOVE IDAHO. But the treasure valley is no longer a treasure. You sound like one of those that moved here and could care less about gun rights all just to have idaho be like where you moved from
I am living in and from Southern CA. I love my hometown of Murrieta but, like the video said, this state is moving so far left (I am conservative) that it seems everything is going against what I stand for. The schools are now legally authorized to teach kids, starting in 2nd grade (if the teacher or school feels like it), about anal and oral sex as a form of abstinence, using foods such as cucumbers as sex toys, and all of the different stupid genders... all in the name of equality and "child rights". This is all happening while taking away the parent's rights. The schools will pay for and take children, starting at age 12, to get an abortion and ENSURE the parents don't find out, because that somehow violates the child's right of privacy. These are just two examples of what the schools systems are doing, not to mention everything else this state stands for and is allowing, again, all in the name of inclusion. I don't want my kids being taught that crap. The taxes are INSANE. Gas prices are way too high. Cost of living is outrageous. We have a governor who is going to give illegal aliens more rights that citizens and do whatever the hell he wants, with no opposition. The list goes on. It is unfortunate because I love my city, the beaches, and everything else we can do here but there comes a point where you have to decide what is best for your family. I am interested in moving to ID because we can have the type of lifestyle that I want my kids to experience. Where you can ride your bikes in the neighborhood and not have to worry. Where you actually know and talk to your neighbors. Where people don't look at you funny for saying hello and being polite to strangers. Where you can afford a decent home in a beautiful city that has seasons. Where you have a better chance of retiring! I have family who just moved to Idaho and after only a few weeks, already love it.
FIGHT FOR YOUR STATE! What is wrong with you people? You just whine and run away...you act like an illegal....dedtroy a plave then run away from what YOU HAVE ALLOWED. Idiot
@@DianeHasHopeInChrist We are outnumbered by liberals here and on top of that they cheat in the elections so there is no winning the fight. It's evil and dangerous here and getting much worse thanks to the evil governor who was also cheated into office.
@@DianeHasHopeInChrist You talk more than the amount of hair on your bald looking head. If you think my comment is rude and uncalled for then you need to check yourself. If you're not from California then you have no room to talk, Karen. You don't know about the corruption going on over here. Sadly, you low lives do nothing but complain about Californians. Mind your own damn business and keep your rude comments to yourself 😊
I'm in California and I considered Idaho just because I want to move back to the United States. For those of you who don't know, California is NOT the United States in 2019. Not even close.
We understand, Lou! From the perspective of people outside of California, it looks like the entire state took the biggest bottle of stupid pills, and is now reaping the results! Combine that with Trump Derangement Syndrome... and you have CA in 2019. Californians simply don't seem to care that the policies they push SIMPLY DON'T WORK - and that's true as well for those Californians who decide to move elsewhere, but bring their politics and worldview with them! Now, if you're a Californian, and you either can't handle the taxes and high cost of living, or the politics - BUT you're smart enough not to bring that mindset with you wherever you move to, then people won't care one way or another. Its' those Californians who seem to think they're like religious zealots stomping around in the Amazon jungles, forcibly converting whoever they run into of the "enlightened" ways they see the world! Personally, I think the movement in CA to break the state up into two pieces, with a more conservative (i.e., SENSIBLE) "New California," and the liberal enclaves of LA, San Francisco, Sacramento, etc., left in the original state, has a LOT of merit - and I believe the Trump administration should do everything it can to help it along! Let the leftists and liberals die on the drastically smaller vines they're left with, when the rest of the state detaches itself from them and their "enlightened" policies... and let's see which one works! Want to bet where my money is placed?
I bought 20 acres in the Idaho County area of Idaho. There is no permitting requirements to build a home. But mainly I am a life long Republican and very conservative. The community I moved to is Kamiah. People actually wave at you when you drive by.
I dont mind if people want to move here from another state just leave it the way you found it. To many people come here and try to change everything and we hate you for it.
I’m moving to Idaho in Oct 2020. I’m moving so that I can buy a home before I retire in 10 to 15 years, something I would never be able to do in California as a single person on my income. I am so excited, I love Idaho, the people, the rivers and lakes, and the down-home values that are embedded in the communities there. If you have any tips for me as a single woman doing this, I would appreciate them.
What an awesome video! We moved from southern CA to ID because CA is not a kid friendly environment as it used to be when I was a kid. The politics didn’t fit our ideals either. Moving to ID was quiet possibly the best move! The people who are locals are kind! They care! You don’t feel like one person in a sea of people that don’t give a toot about you. When your stuck in snow or broke down on the rode, you get a helping hand from a stranger in no time flat. A place where kids are safe to ride their bikes around the neighborhood. A place where you know your neighbor and lend cups of sugar. :) That’s the ID I hope to preserve and pass down.
@Rocky mountain investigator of mysterious sighting damn. You're obviously a dumb kid who doesn't know what he's talking about. I can confirm that yes, CA is a liberal shithole, I live here. But liberals here are content here because it's all liberal.
@Jeanne Parker that's an idiotic comment from someone that obviously has no idea what people go through when they make a move like that. First of all the original commenter praised and appreciated Idaho and its people.... Second, if you're that distraught about money and business pouring into Idaho, then you must be dense. I am in the beginning stages of the process of getting out of the Laguna Beach area with my family. And guess what: we're seriously looking at the Treasure Valley area. Many many many families from our church had already moved to TV and all of us are conservative right wing Christian people that simply can't survive in the liberal cesspool of California. We all love California for the landscape, the weather etc...but the millions of us that are conservative, are being silenced by the rest of the state and all their liberals. Don't forget that California has over 40million people... The few hundred thousand that will relocate to Idaho will most likely as "far right" as it gets in the USA.
Great and informative video. I am a forth generation Californian from a long line of pro gun, hunting culture, pro law enforcement conservatives. I have been behind enemy lines too long and need to escape. Planning to shortly.
I've live in CA for 38 years and I am about to leave too...These people have become mad.... they know about the regulations and the taxes but nowadays they just blame Trump while the entire State is looking like Baltimore...
I used to live in CA, but its no longer business friendly and hasn’t been for awhile, and yes, the leftist politicians and cost of living are deplorable! It’s like Paradise - LOST!! 🥺
They aren’t Mexicans who are coming across. They are Central Americans who are fleeing their countries because the U.S. went down there and fucked everything up once upon a time (for globalization of local goods there’s a video about it on vox). Now it’s pure chaos. The U.S. is paying millions in restitution to Central American governments. Now we are dealing with the aftermath of what this country did to those people and they are rushing our borders for 1) SAFETY (all human rights are violated) 2) They are saying now you’re going to deal with us and the the repercussions you caused, you can’t avoid us anymore.
Excellent video. Last October I moved from Huntington Beach to Twin Falls Idaho. I chose Idaho for it's conservatism & ski resorts. So Cal just doesn't get snow and hold on to it anymore. My other reasons why to leave Ca is Home prices and rent has gone way out of reach. I have watched my (step) sister gold-dig for well-off men to make up for her financial & education mistakes. I have witnessed (in general) women's behavior, they are too arrogant and want a wealthy man( to take care of them in their lack of an education) and to brag about him to her friends. The shallowness is why the divorce rate is over 60% in Orange County. The traffic has become so horrible you need a motel instead of putting up with hours of traffic. the destination is not too far away ,but when you have to go 50 miles at 5 to 15mph it's tough. In certain parts of Orange County the attitudes are terrible and people drag race from red light to red light. There is a strong "you can go right after me ethic" in So Ca. Just check with drug rehab places for their statistics and you will see how caught up people are in their "fast-lane" lifestyles from youth to mature adults. Cali is a rich man's septic tank. So happy to not be there anymore. I am finding my end of month bank balance is a lot more from the lower cost of living in Idaho. I can play much more and save for the future. This was not possible in CA. AND Newsome is NOT my governor. Socialist pig!
The majority of them are not conservatives. They're liberals and leftists that have turned California into a shit hole, and now they're ready to move to nicer places, which they'll also turn into shit holes. They've already done it with Colorado and parts of Texas. They don't do this out of spite. They're just simply too stupid to understand that it's their politics that turns perfectly good towns and states into utter shit holes. They lack the mental capacity to make that connection. After all, anyone with more than 5 functioning brain cells would never be a leftist to begin with.
I'm not a conservative or liberal, I don't play the divide and conquer game, but I have moral traditional values, with that being said, I moved to idaho to get away from the liberal bullshit. And I've NEVER voted for anything liberal
I left CA for Nevada in 2018; quality of life was main reason; I could afford to stay in CA, but didn't want to. I also have a big reality check for everyone in Idaho, Nevada and elsewhere that think Californian transplants are turning your state "blue".... that is myth! Conservatives are the ones leaving CA. What is turning your states blue are your children that are the products of public education, guess which way they are voting when they turn 18?
I’ve lived in CA all of my life (in the Central Valley for my entirety) and have aspirations to move up north to Idaho, in the meridian area. I’m going to be attending Police Academy sometime this year hopefully and work for my cities Department (Los Banos) before I make the move. I’m very conservative and honestly, there are more people in the valley who are conservative here than anywhere else in the state. I don’t want to change Idaho in anyway, shape, or form. What Idaho is, is why I want to live there. Before pursuing Law Enforcement I was a college student studying Forestry and Natural Resources and the outdoors aspect of Idaho is what pulled me in initially.
Just understand as a idaho native. With a family. We cant afford rent anymore or to buy a home. It has doubled. I use to pay 600 a month and now pay 1200. Its insane for the little wages they pay I'm idaho. You seem like a good person just remember you moving here causes 1 more kid do go a night without food.
I left California and moved to Texas when Gavin Newsom was elected governor. He was the final straw. I registered Republican and voted a straight Republican ticket during the primaries. Love Texas and the people here. So glad to be out of that state even though it was my home.
The joke is that when a house burns down in California, Coeur d' Alene gets a new resident. Only its not a joke. Those horrible fires last year caused a tsunami of transplants as soon as the insurance checks started arriving. They come in waves; early 80s were bad too. Realistically, the Cals that move here aren't all that conservative. That's a myth. Many come here with the idea that Idaho can be changed. These are the ones you just want to strangle. Some exceptions of course. They can also pay cash for a house from the equity in their house in California. When I left Boise, the couple that bought my house paid straight up cash. No mortgage. Thanks for driving up home prices! We also don't like them because a fair percentage act like they are in a third world country and are condescending as hell. Like they come from California, so of course, they are sooooo sophisticated compared to us local yokels. You just want to ask: If it was so great, and you guys were sooooo smart and sophisticated, why are you here, bitch? Why did you have to flee? Obviously, you didn't know as much as you thought you did, because the junkies sleeping on your back deck (true story, one transplant I met couldn't keep homeless druggies out of his yard) took over and now you live here. That reality might induce some humility in most people, but not in a Cal. They just get in their leased Porsche SUV and drive away. Wish we could close the state.
@ markw999 well said as I share your sentiments exactly. Exactly I say. Even people I have known most of my life who came from Cal have "the attitude". Way too many here now. I can understand wanting to move here but I wish they wouldn't. We've lost so many great areas to the california plague.
Yes, it’s how you stated: the cost of living and the political climate is why my wife and I moved to southeast ID after living in the SF Bay Area for 46 years. Thank you for this very informative report.
I have a few reasons on why I would love to move to idaho. Community, Kindness, Church / Values, and politics being number 1. I don't believe that with the political climate I have been surrounded by in California that I can ever successfully vote laws into order and bring our communities back. Its change so much.Trust me I try every year. I try to convince others all the time to my detriment that what they are voting for does not make sense. I want a home that is more similarly valued and where you can leave your front door and say this community loves its town. I've heard people say that they come for the houses but I have a home here so the prices in the community is a plus but to me is not the main reason for moving because at the end of the day the wage for jobs will be different. I have looked at moving to Idaho after visiting there last year for a holiday and found Boise to be the most beautiful downtown I've ever seen. I was truly impressed by the care the town takes and the pride it has in its home. I hope the random messages from people I've read about evil Californians will not be the case when I come to live there one day.
Grew up in Idaho and left Boise for San Diego in 2010 and let me tell you..people are more open minded and welcoming here in Sd then when I was in Idaho. More culture and opportunity for me here. Tried moving back to Idaho once since and I turned around and came right back to Sd!
Yeah, people seem to think rural areas are some kind of magical fantasylane where life is perfect. Lol my in-laws live in a town of around 10,000 people and it's pretty bad. No economy, high unemployment. But then people who live out in the sticks complain they're getting their rights taken away. Lmao
@mAX Axe BTW, I consider anyone homeless who might still be in their home, but it's pretty much falling apart and they can't pay their bills. Which you see all over in rural areas.
Just as an update in 2019 the Idaho's minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. And housing costs in Boise now are closer to $450,000 for a two bedroom one bath without garage. If you are a teacher you are only paid $32,000 a year. Nice video, I love living in Boise, but I thought you might like an update.
As someone who lives in Idaho, it was funny watching the Californians trying to drive through snow. They seem to Mario Kart drift around every turn lmao.
I'm moving to Idaho early 2021 (going up next month to look at houses). I was born and raised in California. Why? Cost of living, insane gun laws, and most important: I am a conservative in a state which is so liberal, it disgusts me. This state is not going forward, it is going backward and it is time to get out.
Leaving CA because of the loss of too many freedoms. In my lifetime I have seen so many things become illegal that are allowed in almost any other state. Gradually, we are becoming serfs of the state, not citizens. I am heading for one of the FREE states.
The immigration to the bay area changed the culture, attitude to a different way of life. I spent one weekend in Sandpoint ID during lost in the 50s and I felt I belonged and I was safe. That's why I moved.
no, again with the denial. You are moving because you have killed your host. You will move to places that are healthy ( because they are red ) and then start it over. The California ideology is cancer and it will just keep destroying until nothing is left, or they wisen up and stop allowing it. NOT ONE state has had ling term benefits from the migration. short term yes, an influx of a tax base, then they realize that it wasn't worth it. Stay in the bed you made weirdos. Don't try to come and convert us. We don't need "woke" we need left alone!
As a 5th generation idahoan I can say that I and every "native" Idahoan I know are sick of how many people are moving here. Traffic has gotten horrible in the last few years, giant apartment complexes pop up everywhere making the town feel even more cramped, a rich Californian bought our local mall which has been the heart of our town for almost 50 years and is planning on demolishing half the mall to turn it into a strip mall so that he can use the back parking lot to build even more huge apartments. Ask any Idahoan who's family has been here for more than 25 years and they'll tell you, Idaho is overpopulated in the cities. And the problem is all these Californians that move here don't see how bad the problem is because to them "it's better than the traffic in California" if you're thinking of moving to Idaho, Please consider moving to Oregon or some other state. In Ontario Oregon you can get a house for cheap, the traffic isnt backed up at all and they have multiple recreational cannabis dispensaries.
Californians just wanna take advantage of Idaho. They don't actually care about the well-being of others. Everywhere they go, their mentality is "How can I become richer?"
I am still in California, just wanted to read the comments and add some facts to the discussion: 1) In the 1970s, when I was born, the population of the world was in the 4 billion(s) range. It is now almost at 8 billion. Guess what? There are more people inhabiting the planet than ever before! Lots more! Tons of Duggar families going bananas produce many people! What do people expect? California has experienced a migration boom which has crippled the state and pushed the poorer people toward states which they can finally afford to live in. Elite Silicon Valley corporations have hired enough out of the country workers who have then purchased homes with their newfound cash and pushed many native Californians out. Ultimately it is a domino effect, it is too bad that some of the states receiving these Californian migrants treat them poorly, they're just trying to make a better living for themselves like the people who came from their country to the Silicon Valley...which pushed out the migrant Californians.
Air Repair seriously I don’t know what everyone sees in Idaho. They act like it’s the best place in earth. It’s awful to be a teenager here, there’s nothing to do and the people are annoying
Raine_ Makenna as I said. I saw nothing special in Idaho. I went to see my cousin in Nampa, find out what happened to my GreatGrandMother. Those are the only reasons I went to Idaho.
Raine_ Makenna I love CA because mostly of the weather. I lived in Reno, NV in 1973 after High School. The Winter was colder than I was used to in CA. No other location appeals to me. I will only move from CA if it becomes too bearable to live here.
Both my spouse and I were born and raised in California, but it is hard being a republican there anymore. Initially moved to rural New Mexico for 3 years (amazing!), then headed up to Idaho where we've now been for 2 1/2 years. People ask where we're from and we say New Mexico just to avoid any awkwardness.
I was born in Colorado left when 7, Stayed in Arizona for 3 years. Grew up in then moderate San Jose. My parents are from Kansas and Oklahoma. Where should I say I'm from? I don't blame Idahoans for feeling invaded. When I was in Colorado we didn't like yeehawing Texans coming up to stomp around our state either.
Or you could just own it and not worry about what anyone thinks of you being from California. I'm a California lib and thinking of moving (we've priced ourselves out and ruined our state because of our politics). Idaho is one of the considerations. I figure Boise is a big enough city where we can find some neighborhood we'll fit in. If not, angry conservatives are easy enough people to ignore.
I'm a Californian who's watched several families I know move to Idaho in, literally, the past few months. Quite a phenomenon. Those leaving are all good, conservative families. The cream is leaving California at this time, for the most part. I'll be out in a couple years. California is finished. It's over for this state. I've lived here most of my life but have also lived in the Puget Sound area a few times. The last time I left Seattle it was, ironically, because of the traffic and overcrowding - returning to California in the 90s for a more peaceful existence. I hope that the Boise area doesn't experience the same kind of transition that Seattle did. But, those population expansion numbers are pretty sobering.
Diane Morgan I’m noticing you all over these posts with your shitty attitude. Wow anger will kill you. I’ll see you as soon as the house next to you goes up on the market and I’ll buy it up with all the money I made from the home I sold here in the greatest place on earth, CALIFORNIA. Good day!
Sadly, I currently live in So. Cal, and let me tell you, I can't stand it for the reasons you mentioned among several others. My family and I are looking to leave here in the coming months (2 or 3) and have been looking at Idaho as one of the possibilities, however, and this is in no way meant to be judgmental, I've heard by many that Idaho isn't friendly toward Californians. I've never been there, but know people who have and they say it's beautiful. All my wife and I want is a safe place where we can raise our kids, where its not hot year around, conservative, not taxed to death just to mention a few reasons. Any ideas? TIA.
Ada county is the number one place in Idaho that Californians move to. You will likely be treated better if you are surrounded by other California transplants, and Boise mostly just wants to hear you are conservative. Unfortunately, other Idaho towns might be distrustful of outsiders because they so rarely get any, plus they might not believe Californians who claim to be conservative. The mainstream media tends to portray all Californians as liberal. Frankly, I had to move to California to find out California conservatives even exist.
I currently live in Sacramento and my mom had lived in Post Falls for pretty much all of her childhood. I want to be able to move back after I finish high school or college. I just hope that Idaho is still beautiful by the time I'm old enough to move out...
I moved from WA state which used to be somewhat conservative at one time but has fallen into socialism because of the CA migration. I live in Montana now where its mostly a mix politically but more conservatives than liberals live here. Here we always complain about Californians moving here and destroying it and mention that we have serious Montanans at the border with guns ready to fight against Commies who come here. I am on their side now because I have seen what CA migration does and I will not take it anymore.
Native Californian here. I left the state in 2013 for Colorado, namely because I couldn't handle the California Marxist-Leninist Democrats any longer. Now that (sadly) Colorado is the new California, it makes me depressed. However, the Statehouse is only in session 4 months out of the year, so it will slow it down a little bit. No state is in the West is safe: Arizona is going to flip soon. Colorado and Nevada already have. Idaho and Wyoming will be the last holdouts.
As a lefty libby lib, I'm looking into leaving myself due to the fact that the things I support and vote for has massively driven the cost of living here which is making it impossible to survive. Many of my fellow lefties are doing the same, so depressing or not you might may just need to get used to it. And many of them are moving to Idaho which is one of several states I'm considering.
Ciscokid Kid I love arizona! It’s like living in California but not dealing with all the expenses. I live in Idaho right now but I plan to move there when I graduate.
I saw the writing on the wall back in 1976 and left California. Glad I did. Illegal immigration is totally out of control, hence the rise of the Democratic takeover.
We definitely will do that!! We are two CA's that have been here for 4 generations. However, it is for the above two reasons we are moving and building a home in ID. We respect the laws of anywhere we go, we are super grateful for the opportunity to move there, we love our constitution and are proponents of the law of the land. We fortunately bring with us friendliness, faith, love of neighbor, and hopefully will add some smiles in the grocery line. We don't take ourselves too seriously, and are probably the first to laugh at some of the CA jokes that will pop up. We can hardly wait. Our home sale closes today, God willing, and we will move into our new build in Eagle the end of January. Here's to experiencing some of those beautiful seasons that are part of #idahome. Looking forward to it!
Not to be rude or anything but Idaho was a much better place before all the Californians moved here. And I know it’s not all their fault, it’s just frustrating adapting to a new environment with them around.
True I hate it. I never had a issue before droves moved here now living in Caldwell paying 1200 a month in rent is outrageous and I have a kid and wife and we barley get by with this spike in rent. I miss what idaho was 5 plus years ago
It’s ok I just made 2 million off my house in California so as soon as the one goes up for sale next to you I’ll buy it up and rent it to family of 17 Mexicans...you will love that...stay positive!
Well, here is what I tell my Texas friends. I'm looking to get out of California. I could easily land in Texas. Here is how you handle the California problem. People are running away from California. But they still have a mind set. Even conservatives like me. And I can't help it; just as you can't help your mind set. But you did something right for decades upon decades, and now people, some conservative, some not so much, are running to you because unlike us, you did something right. Over and over again, no matter the subject, you did something right. Mind set. Now what you have to do, in an attempt to keep your state the way that it is, never vote for anyone, for anything, who can not show you at the very least, a four generation ancestry tree. I don't care how conservative they say they are. I don't care how much you like them. Never. Not for anything. It's not a sure thing; but I see it as a good chance.
Cost of living and politics. So basically politics. Welcome to Idaho! Remember to vote conservative. If liberalism worked you'd still be in California.
Moderate Libertarian from Texas looking to relocate out of the blueing south. Your governor sounds like he’s focusing on the right stuff. I need the cold and mountains 👍
I love Idaho I live here the people are nice I was a Californian now I live here and the people are nice I dont know why people say people are not nice they are
I0IProbie I don’t think people are nice at all, I moved out of Colorado and people are just rude. I want to leave so badly, I plan on going back to Colorado after I graduate
Have yet to run into all these "nice" Idahoans.Although folks are friendly when you first meet etc. It's super hard making friends out here and people you run into repeatedly go out of their way to not acknowledge you. I'm talking a simple head gesture, a nod or smile indicating recognition. nothing. instead much energy is devoted to avoiding eye contact or just pretending you weren't seen. NEVER experienced this anywhere else in the world. Not in the US and not in Europe. It's a beautiful city but I can't wait to leave. It's just too lonely here. I don't know what Idahoans are worried about: it's a conservative state with virtually no social safety net housing is super expensive and jobs are hard to come by. How is a californian, liberal, criminal class supposed to set up shop here?
Moved to Idaho from calico because of the Mexicans they are disrespectful.i was in pasedena attending Le Cordon Bleu and the mexican market had affordable fruit, veggies and such.i went to the checkout and they would not bag my food although they bagged every other persons.kinda blew my mind Now that specific incident was one of many which made me realize my home state had been infiltrated, and hey,it was land they once owned so I figure karmicly they deserve it.i love Idaho !
Born and raised in Riverside county and my husband is from OC. My husband and I left in 02 because he joined the Army. We are still in and approaching possible retirement and trying to decide where to retire. I used to think I would absolutely go back to California after our army life but having lived all over the US and Germany I’m really not sure. I’m pretty much obsessed with the idea, researching everything I can about taxes and cost of living and I constantly go back and forth about it. I do miss the awesome weather and recreational stuff and my Mom is there, getting older and is needing my help more. It’s quite a decision for sure, but lower taxes is definitely important to me so wondering if I can stomach the high taxes to go back
Thanks for hiking our living expenses through the roof to where locals can't afford insurance for ourselves, groceries, etc because we are now paying almost three times what we used to for rent/mortgages. Our cost of living has raised exponentially, while our base salaries stay the same. How are our children supposed to raise their own families? Damn near impossible already.
One major problem of this mass exodus to Idaho is the housing market. Being a 6th generation Idahoan I am unable to compete with cash offers from Californians. Prices are going up and my peers and I cannot get a leg up. It’s very frustrating to hear someone who recently moved here commenting that our prices are “so cheap”.
Also traffic except the rural parts. Youre 2 hrs away on a highway but it's still bumper to bumper. That's because people are willing to commute 2-3 hrs for a good paying job.
Dont bring your money to idaho now I cant afford rent. It use to be cheap here. But rich Californians drive up prices. I know theres others but mostly California. I'm site you're a good person but understand you loving here has now made others from her feel like it's not home anymore. The home they grew up in cheap living has now changed. It may be cheap to you but its expensive now to natives. 1200 a month for 1400sqft that's a joke. Outrageous.
My kids live in Nampa. Their neighbor sells real estate. In Spril of 2018 he told me that 4,000 people per month were moving in to Canyon County from California, Oregon and Washington.
Idaho has to be by far the unfriendliest state in the country. I've traveled all throughout the US on numerous occasions and have never been treated so coldly and with suspicion than the two times we've been through Idaho. My wife and I visited there from Georgia driving across the state on backroads. People gave us rude looks that gave off the vibe as "what are YOU doing here?" and we were literally tailgate followed out of town by a cop in a small town just like in the first Rambo movie. Seriously. If we tried to ask someone something or engage in a conversation, people would talk in very short simple one-word responses with no inflection and no smile. It was actually kinda creepy. And this was both times visiting there in different parts of the state. Being from the South we're used to people being friendly and welcoming to strangers or visitors, but the reception in Idaho (as well as rural Utah) was far less than friendly. People in Montana, Oregon, Washington and Nevada were much friendlier. I don't know if it's just Mormons or what, but reading these comments only confirms what we felt. And we're from Georgia! I can't imagine what someone from California experiences.
It's Idaho man if u aren't from here don't expect to be welcomed we know outsiders when we see them... We're a mountain state don't bring Cali people that don't want to adjust 😂 y'all done fucked up. We don't need y'all as we've shown!
My cousin from Oregon lived in Idaho for many years. She says the Mormons offer another layer of suspicion/ unacceptance, especially when you are seeking employment. I live in the deep south, too many religious fundies for me, but due to my appearance they leave me alone. I think they figure I'm a lost cause. Ha ha
Exactly, why is everyone so rude.. I moved from California and Colorado (both hated states) and people are just to rude, before we changed our license plate people would follow our car super close and people at school are rude too. I’m sorry I can’t leave I really want to because Idaho sucks but I’m not old enough yet
Moved from Loomis Basin (Sacramento 30 mi east) 16 yrs ago. Sold home for 500,000 (1860 sqft) and had built 4300 sq ft home in St Maries Idaho for $300,00. And, for the less crime and traffic.
I'm a conservative Californian who plans on reluctantly relocating out of my beloved home state in the next 10 years due to the reasons outlined in this video. Idaho is on the short list. I don't aspire to live in a conservative citadel, I just would like to live somewhere that has some balance still.
@@cliffd8880 just cause we're from Idaho doesn't mean we support Trump. My family has been here for five generations. My grandfather ran one of the most successful gas station chains, and a flight school. My step grandfather was CEO of BMC West. Something I have discovered in my life - likely due to my Econ/Business/Statistics background and work - is that one easy way to get an idea if a government entity is corrupt is to look at that government entity's employee retirement plan: 1) If it is set up through investments (typically mutual funds) like a private company's 401K, the entity is NOT CORRUPT. 2) If it's paid out of the entity coffers/funds, the entity is CORRUPT.... and will eventually go bankrupt due to ever increasing annual obligations with nothing to show for it. Take a look at the State/County/City governments of California VS Idaho. Can you guess the percentages? Of course there are so many other obvious signs of corruption in California as well. Ever increasing taxes with seemingly fewer and fewer benefits (ike Infrastructure). Large sums of funds being devoted to specific problems without any improvement to those problems (like Homelessness). Subsidies being paid out to companies that seemingly disappears without anything being done (Huh hmmm.... PG&E, LA to SF High Speed Train, Oroville Dam Project). And of course, all the cities and counties filing for bankruptcy - due to what I first listed above. Californians your state is irrevokably f$%ked (Democrat supermajority, and demographically modified to never allow that to change), if you move somewhere else, PLEASE remember that the shortest road to corruption is having an unregulated job spending other people's money. Don't continue to vote for big government.
@@curtissharris8914 Public unions are un-American; if you work for a public entity, you're there to serve the people - not set yourself up for a cushy retirement! Same thing with teachers' unions! I have no problem with *PRIVATE unions* if the employees of a private company want to unionize, knock yourselves out! California went left from 1992 on, unfortunately. But keep in mind, the liberals are predominantly in the coastal areas and big cities. Most conservatives, like myself, live way inland. Just want to clarify a few thing here ;)
Idaho's going to run into the same problems every other state that gets too big, get more money property tax, retail tax regulations that just don't stop because of the communist greed.
Coastal Southern Californians heading to Boise this weekend to do some exploring. We're a little concerned that if we do decide to make a move, we may not be very well received simply due to our California transplant status. We politically and socially align far more with Boise/ Idaho ideals but I'm sure there's a generalization about Californians that might make it hard for the average Boisean to warmly welcome us. I guess we'll see!
...that's why you leave now!! Fuck the waiting game. I left in early March of this year, got a job in two days of moving, three months later my wife and I bought a home, and we are set. If I were you, I'd leave like... now, because the way California is going, they might make you a slave to that state where you can never leave

Moved out of California last summer and work moved me up to Idaho in the Boise area. I love Idaho and completely agree with both main points in the video. The anti-California sentiment is very real in Idaho from the people born and raised there, but they are scarce which is unfortunate.

Very clear and informative presentation. You presented the facts well!
Very well said.
Yep.....thank God for guns!

What would Mexico do if 22 million Americans ran across the border and moved in? Just sayin...
They'd get shot at...
Hopefully the majority of them are the conservatives that are leaving California
believe me, conservatives in CA have had it up to here with the socialism thats plagues the state.
Most CA conservatives are liberals in ID.

Its insane for the little wages they pay I'm idaho. You seem like a good person just remember you moving here causes 1 more kid do go a night without food.
Idaho is full.
Wow, thanks for sharing!

Well, so much for Idaho being a nice place to live.
Patricia Vitt DO NOT MOVE HERE, WE DONT WANT YOU
I move to Arizona for the same reason I vote for freedom
Grew up in Idaho and left Boise for San Diego in 2010 and let me tell you..people are more open minded and welcoming here in Sd then when I was in Idaho. More culture and opportunity for me here. Tried moving back to Idaho once since and I turned around and came right back to Sd!
Yeah, people seem to think rural areas are some kind of magical fantasylane where life is perfect. Lol my in-laws live in a town of around 10,000 people and it's pretty bad. No economy, high unemployment. But then people who live out in the sticks complain they're getting their rights taken away. Lmao
@mAX Axe actually I was just recently in the Bay Area, I didn't see that much of it. And yes, it is all over, cities, rural areas, everywhere.
@mAX Axe BTW, I consider anyone homeless who might still be in their home, but it's pretty much falling apart and they can't pay their bills. Which you see all over in rural areas.
That is great, It is true , there is someplace that is comfortable for everyone. You just have to find it. Glad you did...

This was a great video. Nicely done.
Oh this has been going on since the early 90’s, kind of leveled off and picked up again after the recession.
Too pansy assed to FIGHT for your state. You are just North Mexico. We should NUKE Cal. Be done with you perverse idiots.
Diane Morgan You again? Stay off the alcohol and be nice.
The immigration to the bay area changed the culture, attitude to a different way of life. I spent one weekend in Sandpoint ID during lost in the 50s and I felt I belonged and I was safe. That's why I moved.
We (Californians) are moving to Idaho because we've priced ourselves out. Same reason we're moving to Arizona.
no, again with the denial.
I'm really excited, I just never moved to another state so I'm kind of nervous but I think I'll be making this move really soon.
I visited Boise this year and I saw nothing special. I am a Californian and will die here. Or I will go down fighting.
Air Repair so glad someone else thinks the same thing lol
Raine_ Makenna I love CA because mostly of the weather. I lived in Reno, NV in 1973 after High School. The Winter was colder than I was used to in CA. No other location appeals to me. I will only move from CA if it becomes too bearable to live here.
I know the reason every one wants to move There is because its fair and competent justice system

Almost moved to Idaho last year. Really liked what I saw of Boise. Didn't get the job, so I'm still in Sacramento.

@@jonascape9777 she’s not spreading hate just facts if that shit hole California is so great why don’t u stay.
I have family in PF. My mom and I went up to visit them a couple years ago. It's such a Pretty area * __ * :))
We're going from Placerville.
@mAX Axe It is what it is and we are what we are.
I hope it’s the same here in Arizona. I see a lot of California plates here in Arizona.

Good stats. Left SF in 91. Just couldn't afford it back then! Miss that weather but that's about it?
SF was never affordable. I live there in the 60s and it wasn't cheap then. The rest of the state was but never SF.
Before a Californian moves to Idaho...LEARN THE STATE LAWS!!!!!
I think people who are now unhappy with Idaho will have to move to Montana or Wyoming or something.
You guys better stay and fight for your state. Idaho is full.

We are still in and approaching possible retirement and trying to decide where to retire. I used to think I would absolutely go back to California after our army life but having lived all over the US and Germany I’m really not sure.

Wanted to leave California. Considered Knoxville TN area, but gave up on the idea because of family and deep roots here.
If you guys want to talk about income.... Move to Montana it's cheaper here and no sales tax
Don’t forget about SNOW so deep you can’t even get to Starbucks on most days. Stay in California, the Frappuccino’s are best there.

Outrageous.
Some people I know are moving to Idaho soon and will help push up prices.

Something I have discovered in my life - likely due to my Econ/Business/Statistics background and work - is that one easy way to get an idea if a government entity is corrupt is to look at that government entity's employee retirement plan:
1) If it is set up through investments (typically mutual funds) like a private company's 401K, the entity is NOT CORRUPT.

I have no problem with *PRIVATE unions* if the employees of a private company want to unionize, knock yourselves out!
