Due to works on the southern runway at LHR, only 27R and 09L can be used currently. 09L is normally not used for takeoffs due to lack of runway holding space but, due to a reduced number of operations caused by the coronavirus, is used to provide respite from the noise for residents around the airport by alternating the direction of operations.

@@BenkertAviation May I ask what is so special. Sounds plain and uninteresting to me. The buzz saw is barely audible, on some videos none at all. This actually has some buzz saw. It is worse on A320 videos. Instead the buzzsaw has been replaced by a sicking high pitched whine that hurts my ears. Hardly great sound. It does have a nice start up sound and spool up though which reminds me of the GE 90. Otherwise I prefer the CFM56 ceo!
@@RicciWork it sounds cool on start for sure. The sound at takeoff is a lot more pleasant. Not as cool as the ceo but still nice.

Brilliant, I never flown into Heathrow. I have spotted at Heathrow, I was going to fly into Heathrow back in March but sadly Flybe collapsed and lockdown restrictions. But I may fly again soon, maybe next year possibly with British Airways.
It’s a great place to fly into !! Lots of widebodies and lots of different airlines too !! I’ve a load of videos from LHR with many to come too so I hope you enjoy them as they come out ✈️✈️

The engines weren't even at full stick. I was waiting for them to go full tilt be he didn't need it.
yes !! the flight was super empty- probably only 25 or so of us on the flight as this was about a week after the UK reintroduced quarantine from spain fue to the high number of cases in catalonia at the time and 3 days later the 3 x daily a321neos were replaced by 2 x A319s for a period ✈️✈️

yes, it really was !! an a321neo with about 25 people in it. it was because they had re-introduced a two week quarantine on return from spain the week before but had not reduced the equipment size to match the reduction in demand ✈️✈️

If you look at the wind sock you can see exactly why they chose to depart from that side of the runway that day.
that direction yes, but 09L in particular due to the low amount of traffic. it’s not been used regularly for takeoffs since the height of the first wave ✈️✈️
Unless the LEAP is at TOGA give me the PW 1100s quiet growl everyday of the week over the LEAP 1A Vacuum Cleaner everyday of the week

Well sir on this particular aircraft the A321 NEO is equipped with CFM LEAP 1-A engines :)
