How does one conjure such a story like 1984 whilst residing most seemingly alone on the side of a hill overlooking the water? There has to be more to this than we probably will ever know. Thank you for this magnificent video.
To be able to tell a story that has me smiling and tears in my eyes is a real art... You are a master of story telling Tony...Thank you for sharing .... :-)))))
Stayed in that bothy a few years ago when visiting Jura - woke up to see deer eating the kelp on the beach and a golden eagle circling overhead. so great to hear about the family that had it as their home. Magical place!
I used to visit Jura with my grandfather, on my father's side. He left Manchester in the late twenties early thirties. Met my Scottish grandmother on holiday and loved the Scottish hills. He would say that he could leave Glasgow and in twenty minutes drive to the hills. He never left!!! Loved the peace and serenity. Nearby, no too far, by Mull of Kintyre, Paul McCartney found the same raising his young family with Linda in the early 70's. Thanks for the memory Tony. Hopefully I can visit again one day in a ad-Venture two(too), lol.
Thank you , for the insight into your world. I have been fascinated for a long time by the things in life , however small , that transpire into affecting a families lineage , or personal journey. The universe is a fascinating place. Best wishes
Thank you, for letting us know about your very dear ancestor! Worth every effort to visit his birth place. This home looks very isolated today, I can imagine how it looked at the time you referred to. But the suroundings are gorgeous.
I have been following your adventures for years. I have seen the world through your eyes and it was magnificent my friend. I am sending you this note just too say this adventure was one of your best. Going back to your roots was a cool as it gets. I loved the beaches with the smooth rocks that were over 10,000 years old. Thank you for the adventures my friends I can't thank you enough. THE BANKS FAMILY
Terrific,, Tiony. 160 years from your great-grandfather who wrote Gaelic prose. Yacht-building may be equally archaic 160 years from now but the histories of both will continue, no matter.
LOVE your vlogs . Always beautiful quality & content .. Amazing to hear about & see your family heritage . My Great Grand Father tried to book passage on Titanic when he was 18 but it was fully booked so he took the next liner to America . I probably would not be here if he had been on the Titanic . God bless . Mark (Toronto) 💦💦💦
hello David, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
Fabulous story. Please continue, as I want more. Every time I see my mother land, I keep wondering where are the trees? Science tells us these lands were forested for eons. Where are they?
A Master piece video! Dare I ask, Whos voice is that, that narrates your video? T he slight British accent, the soft tone, ranks with the best voice overs. is that you Mr. Fleming? or a someone you chose? And the story lines fit the scenes perfect! Thank you so much, for sharing your adventures! My favorite one is your trip to Norway, thats where my Grand parents came from, at the turn of the Century...
Your sailing videos are amazing and inspiring. It give me emotional comfort and relief from stress and strain we have every day life. Thank you. I want to sail on a wonderful voyage like you did. By the way - your recent videos have too much red color. It does not look natural. Please reduce "Hue" & "Saturation" feature in your video editor software when editing video. Anyway - we love your sailing videos. Thank you. We feel good when watching your beautiful sailing journey videos.
The Gulf Stream passes up the West coast of Scotland on its way to Siberia which is why Murmansk is an ice-free port. The west coast of Scotland is therefore much warmer than would otherwise be the case. There is an almost tropical garden near Ullapool.

As a Scottish expat now living in Canada, I have fond childhood memories of summer holidays on the Mull of Kintyre -- seven decades ago!

Amazing
Palm trees in Scotland?

If you take a florescent lite at night some of the rocks will glow which means it is a fossil.
