I doubt I'm the first person to notice it, but why would he be carrying his mother's ring around with him? A memento makes sense but why not keep it locked up somewhere safe? Answer: It was his mother's wedding ring, and he was going to propose to Rinea with it at some point, offering his mother's ring to her. Keeping and reusing heirlooms like that for sentimental value used to be common in earlier times, so that would've been a gesture of great symbolic worth on his part. It's a subtle but powerful indication of just how much he loved her. Even if he did fuck her over in the end, in his insanity. What makes his death scene so great, so moving, is that it eschews drama for high tragedy. Berkut's flaws led to his own downfall and sacrificing what he held most dear, the one person who loved him unconditionally, for the power he dreamed of, and in the end he lost, losing everything; poetic justice for ruthless irony. But Rinea's love, so unconditional, so blind, so naïve and pure, still exists for him, and her spirit still comes to him to beckon him onward as he dies, forgiving him. He loses his life, his power, his pride, every earthly thing he prized and held dear, but the immaterial, which he undervalued and viciously threw away, yet what ultimately truly only matters, comes to back to him unbidden and yet undiminished. His thirst for power, which never would have been quenched had he lived, is extinguished with his end, and he's free to give himself up, to the salvation and forgiveness that he may not, does not deserve, and yet that Rinea freely gives, she loving and desiring only him, and always him. And, as he finally realizes the error of his ways, his spirit can finally love Rinea undistracted, and accompanies her into the unknown with happiness. Death comes not as a punishment, but as a release. (Shit, I'm really crying now.)
Finally, a great modern Fire Emblem villain. This is why I really love this game way more than Fates and Awakening, the characters feel realistic and they mourn over fallen allies and what power has done.
Extra Hachse Takumi is probably the best and most fleshed-out, Fire Emblem-esque character of Fates. It just so happens that he’s tainted by a game with a shitty story.
To be fair, you can really feel the emotion in Echoes due to the amazing voice acting that was present throughout the entire story, as opposed to Awakening and Fates which only had voice clips.
Actually Berkut is sympathetic in a way. He was so pressured to be a mighty leader by everyone around him that he ended uo as an a hole. But he still loved Rinea. But as a consequence of the pressure put on him as well as his ideals being challenged, he ended up mentaly snapping . Also he was originally disgusted by Duma's power in Act 4.
Samuel Wolch not to mention how he was raised in a land where only the strong have a right to be anything. Can’t blame him when it’s all he was basically taught.
Epic Manky Fates has two sides with "two divine dragons". One side is blessed with bountiful harvests while the other side had to become strong to survive. The darker side then begins the plot by killing the "good" side's ruler and invades. Funny enough, Alm is a rigelian who was raised in Zofia while Kam/Corrin was born in Hoshido and raised in Nohr. What's even funnier is that Alm starts off ridiculously strong while Corrin starts off really weak.

I can definetely see why you'd consider him the better villain though, as he does have a better reason for committing villainous acts and is far less selfish than berkut (although personally, I think berkuts selfishness rounds him out a bit more as a character).

I feel for and connect with Berkut on so many levels. He tried so hard based on how he grew up in life, and in the end he was still a disappointment to everyone.

Berkut almost lost himself to the power of a dragon (Duma). It's awesome how, in Three Houses, we can see again what dragon power does to humans, but with bigger consequences

I feel like it's even better if he was casting Zaveid's spells, just imagine Berkut as a sage casting excalibur with the incantation "You ready for dirty dancing?" coincidentally that would be his pickup line for Rinea.
Hood Squigga Thanks to them, you are living the life's earnest but still its nothing big because its hard to get a job because people use guns instead of swords.
XxxJim_ the_ ReaperxxX True, it’s also in your favor if the idiot doesn’t know how to use the gun properly. But hopefully I won’t ever come across that
What if the reason Mycen didn’t want Alm to go out of the village in the beginning of the game was because he didn’t want Alm to kill his father. If you think about it that way it seems so sad.
I felt like they could have done so much more with Berkut, I feel like if they made him a bit less edgy and developed him more he would be great. Atm what he does to Rinea is unforgivable.
I don't think Rinea is justified in being so very forgiving - I'd say what Berkut did to her is unforgivable - but regardless of my own perspective of what Berkut did - an unforgivable murder - in story its Rinea's own decision of how to respond to it. I think her choice is strange, but (in-universe) its hers to make.

now i could imagine berkut getting ROASTED by girls while talking in chill ass tone.
I feel like it's even better if he was casting Zaveid's spells, just imagine Berkut as a sage casting excalibur with the incantation "You ready for dirty dancing?" coincidentally that would be his pickup line for Rinea.

Four units died in like 7 seconds...This guy plays pretty recklessly
Sacrifice others for sake of your own goals.
Truly befitting tactics for an emperor of Rigel.

+doodlejackbod I think it's possible, heck we might even get a normal rinea. question is when? probally when we get another fallen hero banner
Commander Mermaid from monster girl quest that’s a good idea
Could be witch Rinea or possessed Berkut. I'd take both if possible

Berkut: a world not of gods- but of men.
Mayneth: create a world..with no need for gods.
Here I am enjoying the little things in life ._.

Thanks to them, you are living the life's earnest but still its nothing big because its hard to get a job because people use guns instead of swords.
XxxJim_ the_ ReaperxxX lol and funny enough I was thinking of blacksmithing for a job
+Hood Squigga
Well you could've bodied every bandit noob who uses a gun if you have the skills and High Avoid like Alm!
XxxJim_ the_ ReaperxxX True, it’s also in your favor if the idiot doesn’t know how to use the gun properly. But hopefully I won’t ever come across that

And also, skilled gun-wielders or promoted gunfighters are called "Snipers".
Fallen berkut you finally made it
3:34 Dude, that’d be one fucked up wedding. I’d hate to even see the damn cake.....
I feel so sad for Berkut and Alm they deserv better :(
What if the reason Mycen didn’t want Alm to go out of the village in the beginning of the game was because he didn’t want Alm to kill his father. If you think about it that way it seems so sad.
That moment when Berkut and Dandy share the same VA
So the Black Eagles are technically carrying out Berkut's will
Along with the final one, this battle give a lof of troubles in hard classic mode xD there was always one unit that dies
But man, I love Berkut ;;
I don’t anything about the game not character but oh my god I’m legit sobbing , my heart is aching;(
Why am I seeing this in my recommendations not 3 days after the Fallen Heroes 2 Banner’s out for FEH..?

Ian Sinclair. The most amazing voice actor ever!
Poor Berkut... This is what happens when you're being bullied all your life!
Berkut is more the bully than the bullied
I felt like they could have done so much more with Berkut, I feel like if they made him a bit less edgy and developed him more he would be great. Atm what he does to Rinea is unforgivable.
3:27 Alm is a part of Pretty Little Liars confirmed
How come Rinea's spirit isn't mad at Berkut for causing her demise by being sacrificed to Duma?
Because he mentally snapped and he wasn't himself. They loved each other. What, should they just hate each other for eternity?
But making her fire spirit was technically an bum hole-ish thing to do.
Rinea is an exceedingly forgiving person?
+Peter Jumper
I don't know about her nor I can sympathize with Berkut.
This sets my case
I need to play echos
