- Hey gamers, GulYY here. Welcome back to another epic Polytopia video! This is a really special video, as we discuss what I believe will be the newest Polytopia Tribe: The Ancients! They will most likely be the lightning tribe that was teased a couple of weeks ago. I hope you enjoy!

What do you all think? Will the Ancients be the newest tribe added to Polytopia? Are they the lightning tribe that was teased a while back? Thanks for watching!
I think it all fits together the Ancients should be the lighting tribe, and I guess they will be the next tribe
Definitely they will be the next I think. They already have lore and obviously detail and if they want a new tribe then a lightning ancient tribe that wants to ‘return for revenge’ would be a pretty solid idea and probably a really cool tribe.
A thing I think the new tribe will have, if they are supposed to be the ancients is... occupation. The devs specifically said about how all the tribes worked together against the ancients, and how they celebrate their victory. I have a feeling that conquering new cities will not be a simple thing for the new tribe. Maybe they will need to supress the new population! We already have a mechanic for this: When cloaks attack a city, it does not change allegiance, but it does stop producing stars!
Maybe ancients had technology and thats why they controlled the square. At the revolution they hade with their technology and now we are about to see how they come back with the technology and totally crush every other tribe with it !
@@samueltrusik3251 That would work, they are strong physically maybe the strongest in game but because of abuse from other tribes they have a weak economy and it’s hard to take the other cities. Maybe like a really strong vengir

Please stop cymanti is now actually one of the weakest tribes if not the weakest one theyre units with 10 or more health are expensive

Maybe they always spawn with a ruin nearby, hinting to the fact that ruins were once buildings of the ancients.

In the image it looks like the ancients are fighting the vengir, so it seems vengir are one of the first to rebel against the ancients but lost and remained in the wastelands as punishment. Edit so maybe my statement was wrong and that probably the vengir stated wining and then everyone teamed up on them and then the vengir were banished to the badlands

Nah i think after they beat the ancients they were banished into the wasteland by the other tribes because of their exceptional hostility

This surely looks interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing this new tribe in action. Additionally, i love how they're hiding in a cave, and there's a dinosaur; kinda fitting into the prehistory, like, you know, they're ancient, and in our history dinos existed and people hid in caves? (Both were in different eras, but still cool to see nonetheless
As for the clouds, i agree it's just to show the tensity of the rest of the pic, since war is happening, and happy sunshine WOULD ruin the overall mood of the war
Sudden thought, but, what if they had an ability of that lighting strikes the unit and the unit can teleport to the near city (that's claimed) or back to the city the unit comes from? Or maybe ability for idk a shaman that he can summon lighting to strike opponent's city and it cuts income in half for upcoming turn or downgrades a city by one level? With cap of only one downgrade per city per turn; all the ideas would need balancing, but they would very likely be unexpected mechanics
I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out, and to see you play it when it comes out (officially or in Beta)

@@TKTK-mr7bb I think that when war ended, ancients were the only ones to have technology and thats why they controlled the square. They kept that technology (which is very ancient) and now they’re gonna use it against every other tribe!!
I too am intrigued by the prospect of possible teleportation and had that thought immediately when the one guy posted we'd see totally a unexpected play style from this tribe
That one image with the ancients and Vengir fighting kinda sheds light to the lore...
This is how I see it;
My theory ia that the ancients in the civil war had all the regular tribes except the Vengir were allies in the war, so like in one of the concordanance day pics the Ancients did force conformity right?
So what if they tried to CONFORM every regular tribe into their liking except the Vengir, so like the vengir waged war against everyone, the did wim against the ancients but not their follower trubes, so due to the Vengir beimg tired and stuff they were banished unto the wastelands, now they're SKELEBOIS to like commemorate the pain they felt even though they just wanted to free the other tribes!
Now what about the special tribes?
Aquarion: Based from the blurbs(lore) they're just swimmin around in the amcient sea not really knowing what's happening(neutral)
Elyrion: Probs neutral, cuz ya know how much they care about the green and the trees they dont wamna go to some silly war(neutral)
Cymanti: they Imo existed in a later time(n/a)
Polaris: It's hinted in the lore that they were in a bleak situatiom til' the gaami came, so they missed the war(they're as clueless as a city which got cloaked)
That makes sense
I would think rather that Vengir was the ancients. The ancients previously held the entire square, but then the modern tribes (except for cymanti, elyrion and aquarion) rebelled against the conformity of the ancients. They destroyed the ancients and pushed those who remained into the wastelands, where their culture shifted further and further towards revenge until you get Vengir.
Now, for the special tribes...
Cymanti: I believe cymanti actually wasn't always the bug tribe. If you see Polytopia: Lost in the Woods, you see a hooded figure walking through a forest before being attacked by a ciru bug. There's a lore blurb saying something like "On that fateful day, the cymanti changed forever, gaining a symbiotic relationship with the previously parasitic Ciru Bug". I believe they rebelled alongside the other tribes but didn't become buggy until a later encounter, just being a forest tribe similar to hoodrick.
Polaris: I believe Polaris rebelled with the others but got the icy part of the square, which, while to their liking, also slowed tribe development. They got so accustomed to ice life that they couldn't expand until the Gaami came from space and started spreading the ice.
Elyrion: I just think they're aliens lmao, kinda clueless on this one
Aquarion: I think that the Aquarion actually predated the ancients. Originally, everyone was ocean dweller species, but only they just eventually got cornered into the sea due to territory struggles with the rising ancients. Eventually they came back after being deep in the ocean for so long.

When i was on discord i was on the polytopia discord server and then i got the annoucement ping and saw it. Its 100% new elektro tribe.

Im kinda hoping for a kind of "storm/lighting catcher" mechanic, where you get a buff every X rounds to your units for one hit if they are in the range of a city/special "lighting rod" structure
I was thinking maybe they deal collateral "chain" damage to units next to each other
If you look in the background you can see the blurry image of a Vengir helmet… hmmmm
That dinosaur animal must be the rider animal and wild animal but i wonder what it would look like as a polytaur

I just joined the Polytopia community after playing for years and judging by the comments I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who thought Cymanti were overpowered lol

I'm guessing a teleportation skill will be involved. They said it's a unique tribe. Chain lightning would be another guess.

They ruined multiplayer, ain't worth getting hyped over any new tribes until they fix multiplayer. Add back map size, add back big players, add back 3 player games, add back 7day casually-long games!!!

Wow this looks amazing I have been waiting for a new tribe for a while.
This might be a bit of a reach, but in one of the tribe moon posters for the Zebasi (the one showing the natural air conditioning of their homes) has a dinosaur skeleton in the ground that's similar to the dinosaurs in this poster. That doesn't necessarily mean much, but it could just be a reference to that?

On the polytopia sub reddit zoythrus basically said that vengir was one of the first to rebel against the ancients and were the goats. This was pre-banishment, just thought it was neat since it shows Vengir fighting them.

I think they might have a skill tree. Something that will let the ancients buy more tech using STARS. These stars will be gained depending on how big your city is. They also will be able to invade villages to create more cities
There should be a feature that vengir is unable to make peace and every tribe is always hostile to them

Tons of hype for this! I wonder how many, if any, of our guesses from your speculation video about how'd they'd operate were right. As cool as it'd be to have guessed a few characteristics, the post made by Zor...whatever has me kinda wishing we were all totally off the mark in a spectacular way. In any case, I'm stoked!

I think they're meant to be similar lore-wise, as some sort of rivalry.

He says this coalition of upstart tribes as in more than one… saying the first 4 (Bardur, Xin-Xi, Oumaji & Imperia) could have been the beginning, so it could be that the addition of every p2p tribe is lore accurately added to the game when more groups break off from other tribes maybe? Considering every tribe relates to another according to skill tree i.e. bardur hunting -> hoodrick archery… Imperial organization -> Zebasi farming.
Tldr; 4 beginner tribes beat the ancients. Tribes diverted even further as time passed

Ark reference (because their lightning is clearly electricity based on the glow and their animal is a dinosaur)
i think the ancient tribe would have some ancient-like powers, for example, they may be a volcano tribe that lives in basalt towers and they use lava catapults, or they may be a nature tribe that lives in trees or giant rocks, and they, instead of having a sawmill, have a replanter or something.
looks look maybe the new tride has like lighing powers so if one of the guys hits a guy it hit one more guy neckset to him and does like 3 dmg maybe

If I were to guess I'd say they have a unit that hits all ships within a range with lightning when this unit is next to water. I'm almost definitely going to be wrong though
