In today’s video, I perform a tennis stretch flexibility orida routine that can help with injury prevention, mobility & recovery. These exercises fall under the category of static stretching that is most useful after a match or practice session.

I literally was just talking about stretching before and after playing tennis, and then this video popped up my friend. Great video and great content my friend.
🙌💯
Happy to say I do every single one of these. My heels were always in bad pain after tennis matches until I started stretching my calves and achilles tendons. Also started doing yoga every single day. One little tip that helps with the quad stretches is to try to push the hip forward (while body is straight up like in video).
Thank you Nik !
💯
Great sequence coach
Great stretch routine, thanks Nick!
💯🙌
I live in Toronto and we only get 6 months or so of outdoor tennis. So my plan was to play 100 times in 6 months. Was up to 5 times a week. I am 47 no stretching before or after. Guess what happened Sunday an hour after tennis, my lower back just said "screw this" and locked up. I definitely will be doing these stretches now😂
Just thought, go on, I'll give it a go now. Managed to realise a knot I had in my lower back with the Djokovic stretches.
I now need to make sure I'm doing these!
💯
The best stretching before playing tennis.
Get a massage gun, honestly it’s one of the greatest things to help with stretching, warm up and rehabilitation… I use it on my feet a lot as after tennis my feet are super sore.
Also, pulled muscles and strains heal radically faster as your forcing oxygenated blood directly to the muscle.
However, when I say about stretching, I mean using the gun in conjunction with stretching… gun does the warning up, you do the stretching. DONT STATIC STRETCH COLD MUSCLES!
Good routine. I'm more of a fan of a dynamic mobility routine with some activation for tennis specific muscles prior to playing. I will do some static stretching after playing.
Great exercises. The thing I have most issue with in tennis is my feet. Pain in the big toe area of my left foot that keeps recurring and flaring up. Wider shoes helped, but haven’t stopped it. Any tips for keeping the feet in good order?
So important! Foot massage helps. High quality shoes and double socks 💯💯
At 20 years old i ignored all these routines. Now at 35 i realize that if you don't do stretches - your body will feel sore and injuries are nearby.
100% right
Hey coach huge fan of the channel! Unrelated question - I play with a one handed backhand and wait in a semi western forehand grip at all times so I have trouble switching into my continental grip for slice. Do you recommend waiting in an eastern forehand grip to switch easier or what would you recommended?
Calves and heels are my weak part 😢
🙏
Tennis beats up the body. Need to stretch and invest time in the gym.
💯
pretend you're running late. you expect to get there barely on time. give us the 2 minute quick warm up
Please do not take warm ups lightly they reduce injury risk so much!
