See, dude is just following the rules.
No ego, no throwing his weight around, as soon as he is made aware of Section B, he acquiesces to the request.
That's a man of duty and honour, right there.
Please accept my admiration for the use of the word 'acquiesces'. 😎😎 🥳
I can't read or hear "acquiesce" and "request" in the same sentence without remembering the immortal Pirates of the Caribbean scene.
There is no section B though
Is there a Section B?
Charlie scammed Bernard. The frumpy little fellow is NOT a lawyer and there is no section "B".
In a weird temporal accident, Bernard ended up in The West Wing when he was meant for The Crown.
For the best, he's too fun for the tone of The Crown.
@@theshlauf Maybe Downton Abbey instead?
@@MortenGallagher I'd watch that.
RIP Paxton Whitehead who played Bernard Thatch. 1937 - 2023
So many have gone
"....and aren't you a frumpy little fellow" Gloriously delievered
Its all good - Avon Barksdale was on call to put things right
Bernard needed his own spin off.
What happens if you lock both Bernard and Lord John Marbury in a room? 😮
Eta: with a well stocked bar! 😆
Unfortunately, the actor who played Bernard Thach. Died in June 2023
@@joryadamson7854 And Roger Rees passed in 2015. :(
I believe he did get his own spin-off. It was set in Seattle and called "Frasier".
I 100% concur!
Bernard's sass needs a zip code😂
"A Tai Pei Holiday Inn circa 1970" Ok, I'm dead on the floor right now
Don't worry Mr. Squire, I get tripped up by the Coast Guard too.
You have to love Charlie! He will fight secret service to get to the president after a shooting, he will fight Bernard to get a flag and he dated Zoey etc all while being so cuuuute!
Maurice Levy really dropped hard, to be a criminal lawyer in Baltimore, just a few years later.
Gangsters pay better than governments. It's all in the game.
More money in it
The skills were transferable
He just uses his briefcase, instead of a gun. Citation: Omar Little.
Just me, or does $20k-30k seem like a small price to pay for someone of President Bartlet's wealth in order to avoid a major international incident?
But he's a New Englander from way back. Frugality is in his blood.
Isn’t this a more amusing outcome?
Yeah, but he can't buy it. That would be illegal considering it was excepted on behalf of America not Bartlett.
Except they didn't have time to order an independent commercial appraisal as required by law
@@jesusthroughmary it is unless reciving the flag in the first place violates the law or international law.
Charlie vs anybody I always feel sorry for the Anybody.
Except for when Anybody is Bartlett or Leo and the subject is Charlie's taxes
@@Elthenar well yes at that point Charlie was doomed. Got screwed over though pesky IRS
Good lad, Bernard. Smashing work with chapter 5, section 7432(c). If one cannot uphold the rules, the world will surely fall into anarchy. Can't have that, can we?
It's the only thing that separates us from the animals.
I like how he says "Charles"😊
It was the next scene that topped it, the man charlie brought down was not the expert charlie claimed he was. If memory serves he was just an intern, charlie just out pokered the guy.
Always a treat to see one of Paxton's cameos.
Going to start greeting new people as "frumpy little fellows."
I hope you have good medical insurance...
Given the nature and provisions listed in it, that 'Section B' should have been higher priority, or at least higher listed in the books.
Unless Charlie was pulling a legalized fast one, which I wouldn't put past him.
Charlie was, and Bernard knew it.
CJ being assertive is my love language
I need to know how Bernard managed to escape the Overlook hotel. He is obviously some kind of wayward, lesser demon. Probably laboured as undersecretary to the maître d's shoeshine box.
To the channel editors: thank you, very very much appreciated.
The sass on Bernard 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you guys upload clips of when Bartlet is at the summit in China and sneaks out with the real Chinese leader
"...and a Turkey so undercooked, a skilled Veterenarian could probably revive it."
(Bonus points if you get this reference)
"I'll have you know that in twenty-two years, I have never accepted a bribe. I have to tell you, I find this utterly offensive."
[Looks at cheque and sees amount written] "In every possible way."
@@dominicbuckley8309 Up to and including, should we ever have one, Frederick Crane day.
Marbury thanks you for your interest
Charlie is going to be one hell of a lawyer.
Does anyone else think Charlie recruited this Richard guy to intimidate Bernard into giving him the flag under false pretenses, namely a made up law? Watching this for the hundredth time and it just occurred to me.
Yes, indeed. It shows it later on in the episode 😅
When in doubt, bring Maury Levy
It seems the writers of the west Wing enjoyed Embarrassing English people! Several episodes take Delight doing this.😤
BERNARD IS THE GOAT!!!
Bernard is a great example of the post-Sorkin writing being a dropoff. The first time we saw him he was charmingly snooty. Here he’s just being a dick.
God this show sucked after Sorkin left.
The issue I have with Charlie is the acting range. He has three modes: polite, politely mocking, and politely fuming. After 7 seasons I have no idea whether Dulé Hill can even act.
um yeah he really can
