Another great video!!!!
Thanks Bucky!! 😂😂
With all this excellent instruction you're inspiring me to buy a first Gen Bird and spend a lot of money 💰 Great Content as always!
Perfect I will even help you find one too. Lol Thanks!
Walked into my local Dollar General and presto !!! A whole shelf of Orange Dew!!! I've never had it so I grabbed 2 bottles to give them a go!!!
I have a few dollar general stores close to me. Gona make a pit stop and see if I am as lucky as you.
Great video and great welding skills. the self tapping screws are a great hack on body work, it really saves on the number fo clamps needed. You are making great progress on your bird.
Thanks the screws are excellent especially in areas a clamp will not fit properly plus it creates a perfect pilot hole for welding.
Really good welding
Thanks, I am sure you can do the same. It’s not very difficult to master.
Thanks for doing this series! Appreciate the way you provide the insight. I’m an amateur who owns a 67 and your videos provide a great learning tool for me to use to improve my ride! Kudos and thank you again!
You are welcome and what you are saying is exactly the why I am doing this. Shedding some light on the process to save as many dreams and classic cars was the plan
That worked out nicely.
I think so too. Not a difficult panel to install for the most part. Just a good one to share technique on. Great visibility and I got to sit down most of the time saves on the back 😜
I work at a Dillons grocery store, Wichita KS. I will look for orange Mountain Dew 2morrow.
LOVE your videos, keep up the great work!
Thanks!!! That would be awesome if they had some. Fun fact I was born in Wichita

Friday, August 19th KFDI & the Orpheum, (100 year old theater downtown) is showing SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT! Orpheum showed it 5 years ago, HUGE party!
That would be a great time for sure
Good job
Thanks. Much appreciated!
Another great video!
Thanks! Have plenty more to come.
i got mostly dynacorn parts, very solid. 69 bird trunk pan frame rails tail panel inner and outter going on. before the floor pan. done this stuff before but never this deep,
how do you feel the dynacorn parts are lining up? I know every brand needs some tweaking but not cutting or major mods normally.
Great job brother this brings me back when I did it the way you are going you just might be done before me
Thanks pal and No way am I gona catch up to you. Your car is back on four wheels already. You are moving much faster then me
By the way, I enjoy your videos and now have an interest in trying this! Thanks I guess?
Thanks. You are welcome of course if you actually do give it a go keep it fun and not work.
Sure learning a lot here helping me with my 67 Camero conv hard to find contant but vvg is got it doing like me in garage
This is great news! Good luck on your project.
That is a awesome way to plug weld while using screws to hold the metal I am going to use that technique for now on!! Another great video that actually teaches someone the easiest way and strong way money saving because very little grinding thanks for the video keep them coming the best!
Thanks buddy. I have had great success especially in blind areas you can’t camp the panels together. Keeps it pulled up tight and super clean looking welds. Takes a little practice but it can be done just the same as Did. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
That was a great, very impressive plug welding.
Thanks, it seems to work and look great when Done. Plus it’s relatively easy to master.
If your going to be in PA and want to see a 79 th10 anniversary 400-4spd trans-am let me know.
Im restoring it after a tree hit it in the t-top. All numbers matching as im the orig owner. Its possibly a pace car, emission label is different than the 79 400 4spd and i got the pace car decals in a tube when i got the car. Got not bought as i had to bid on it at the dealer with a sealed bid.
Hardly any rust, just surface stuff.
All the glass broke except 1 t-top.
Hood and trunk weren't touched as the tree hit a bank in front of the car.
Wow original owner. I am a bit jealous I will never unfortunately be an original owner to a bird. Where about in PA? I will be in latrobe then heading east to Kunkletown.
Awesome!
Thanks it comes naturally……after many failed but educational attempts 😉
havent put any on yet, wanna get trunk and rails welded first. car is in bad shap. just got rearend out today. even the leaf springs fell apart it just sat way to long. gonna be a great challange
It’s definitely a large project but with a
Solid plan and vision of the end result totally obtainable. TEST fit as much as possible or even screw the entire rear portion of the car together. Before welding anything permanently. Other then that slow and steady wins this race
Nice
Thanks
can you send me the messurements for trunkpan to framerail ? i dont have a jig. but im going to give it a go. frame rails got here today ready to get things rolling. the second gig you had some messure ments. but cant find the video. thanks and love watching
Absolutely I can send you a complete front to rear measurements off an original car body and fisher body specs. That you you can compare actual and spec. You will find some measurements aren’t close and I trust the original over spec book especially rear frame rail spacing at the rear of the car. If set to spec it won’t fit the floor pan.
I love the Plug welding technique!! I am definantly changing my technique. Thanks Jon. Where do you get your #10 self tapping screws?
those screws you can typically reuse 2-3 times before they get to dull to cut, I get them from local hardware store, ace, lowes, Menards. different lengths are handy too depending on how far apart the panels are it will close a 1/4” or even larger gap if needed to pull these repop panels into place
@@VinylVillageGarage thanks Jon
Are you still traveling ? I have 67 firebird that needs some metal attention
I have plenty to keep Me busy at home now. Plus I just bought a really cool
Project that I am looking forward to doing
What size mig wire are you using?
.030 works great for me, many will say that is to big.
I have a 67 Camaro that needs both floor pans and frame rails, Your videos are very helpful, I'm planning on to doing it with the front frame still in place. Do you have any measurerment's written down for frame rail locating and getting them squared up with the front floor pan?@@VinylVillageGarage
@@rickblood8653 I do have a sheet that I use for setting things. I also have a rear frame rail jig that I use to assemble the rails and trunk floor.
just need mesuarements if you can send ,please for rails to trunk pan thats the only part that is scaring me
Right on do you have an email address to send to
So... Are the 400 hoods all made by the same manufacturer?? Whats the best 400 hood??
Good question and the jury is still out on that answer. Every panel I seem to find a made in Taiwan sticker someplace. But I have found a noticeable difference sometime between brands other times they are identical but most of the time AMD panels seem to be better quality and cleaner lines. I have had some really low quality pieces from OER and next time they are great. So after all that I would buy an AMD 400 hood over an OER. My 400 hood is oer and it needed a good bit of massaging to get it to fit nice.
