My parents have a lot of land. They were agriculturists and also had a lot of businesses and are pretty wealthy. They live in a rural area. They have always told me never to take up agriculture and never to dream of living in the village. The janta is highly politicized, always turn on anyone with some wealth and you will spend all your life fighting one thing or another. Also my mother says the agricultural land will consume whatever money you throw at it and then give you nothing significant in return. High labour cost is a huge problem all across India and in Karnataka due to freebies of the govt, the labour cost has shot through the roof. Listen to this man, he knows what he is talking about

    1. Unless one is really passionate, one shouldn't get into it. This applies for almost any thing or profession in life. You should also have decent experience with growing a few varieties of plants with consistent success.
    2. If you are very typical urbanite and want रौनक in your life all the time... you shouldn't. If you feel lonely without a whole lot of people around you... don't! If as a couple you don't get well together... simply don't!
    3. If you have health issues or concerns in middle age... you shouldn't. Age will only make matters worse.
    4. Growing your own food or most of it... gives an immense sense of achievement. Only those who have doen it know.
    5. No amount of comfort in any resort or hotel will give the pleasure of being in one's own property or home. Unless one is shallow.
    6. Fortunately technology and newer methods have enabled a lot of people take up farming with less labour and more machines/tools. This sort of labour is skilled/semi skilled type, also.
    7. Agriculture and a rural life style can't make you rich but can make life fulfilling and enjoyable for people who wish to take it up.
    8. A small integrated farm can ensure one can sustain. But should be fairly close to a city or large town not exceeding 15 kms on a proper motor able road.
    9. Under no circumstance involve yourself with village politics. Just stay away!

Guruji, I think what you spoke about is Upar Upar ki baat, meaning bas jo behavior appko logo ka dikh raha hai. Deep down the problem you are talking about is more psychological & behavioral. For Eg. in first 1 minute in the video you already clarified that you want to live in hustle-bustle and be a big consumer of things probably not thinking on what is the cost of that consumerism. But then there are people who can't live in the hustle-bustle places and don't want to consume 100 different types of products to live their lives. So there are dfferent types of personalities and broadly we are talking here about 2 personalities having opposite traits. The problem happens when either kind of personality starts giving gyan to the other one, which means there is no one-size-fits-all-lifestyle and this certainly cannot be painted by same brush for all the people in Middle Class for which you claim to create your content. So the better gyaan is that people should know clearly what is the origination of the feeling that they have when they want to live in the city or on a small town or a village. If the underline is clear, then someone can easily adjust around other things. Now it can either be City or Village, but the key is self-awareness and not indulge in Bhed-chaal or Dekha-Dekhi. The best would be if a person gets a chance to experience both kind of things in his life and then finally choose that this is the kind of life that I want. The example you gave for the 90year lady, it might be that her personality was always to be more in a happening area with 10 different things to consume, but she was stuck in the village.

I also agree woth your view. Not all may be interested in the hustle bustle. But one needs to prepare while shifting. Try out a few months every year, make relationships etc. Then if it works out, then can shift. Ground work is needed.

We had a chat . he said with nursery i nave 12 acer that earns me 25 lakh away form hustle and bustle of city kids are going to school . city is expensive . he grows fruits in the land . My wife is from that region . So i know that expense is very low . school fee is like around 6k month ( maximum ) , tuition is like 1500-2000 Rs month . max people do farming . From my knowledge people use intensive pesticides and that cost a lot of money . if people use natural means like jivamrit , cow dung and others , that can save a lot of money . but we as humans find easy way out that is not always good in the long run .

Sir , a bit disapponted with this video.
Reality is only farms are dependable in this age of globalization.
Food price inflation is expected shortly, if india has excess food, our exports can bring in lot of cash flow.
Todays modern day facility is not really facility..sleeping on a coir bed in an aircon room is not great compared to sleeping in breeze of a banyan tree.
Yes there are difficulties in village setting, but if they live as communities can overcome.
Agree not to buy expensive land, but those who already have better to use.
Also if planned properly and sold as value added products with long shelf life via exports..can be a game changer

Mai pure Dil se chaahti hun ki mere maa baap ke generation ke saare log us umar tak jeevit rahein jahan unme jine ka jazba aa jaaye, chehre pe shitalta aur baat me swaad aa jaaye. Warna toh jahan dekho kisi ikke dukke ko chhor ke sab rote hi dikhte hain, we did it all, we know it all, we don't get anything at all, no one loves us at all, life is not worth living at all. Hey prabhu. 🙏 Mai apne saas sasur ke paas (saath nahi, paas) jada rehti hun maa baap se isliye unke saath ka ek experience share karna chaahti hun. Hum sab baithe the toh hum dono beta Bahu unko samjha rahe the ki kyu unke liye khush rehna, apni sehat ka dhyaan dena jaruri hai, toh Maine kaha, abhi aapko 20 30 saal aur jeena hai (dono are in their early 60s). Saasu maa immediately boli aise mat kaho, tum hi jiyo itna, hume ab jeene ki iccha nahi hai and she was very defensive about it. Aawaz me dard bhi tha aur dhamki bhi. Maa baap ke emotional draame ke aage koi logic nahi kaam karta toh mai chup ho gayi par Mann hi mann kaha, bhagwaan na karein ki aap aise chali jaayein mummy ji, koi yaad bhi shaayad na kare itni bitterness bhari aapki baaton ko. Bhagwaan karein aap woh buzurg ho kar sukh chain se jaayein, jo itna dekh chuke hote hain jeevan ki ya toh unki baatein funny lagti hain, anand deti hain, ya bahut gehra gyaan. Woh buzurg jo 90 saal ki umar me jeevan kya hai pucchne par bole, bas jo jee liya wahi jeevan hai.

You dont like in farm because you dont have the structure of your time you want to spend. I go my farm every day and spend 3 hours with a proper time table. Farm check - Walk - Rest . one hour each.

Amit ji aapne kabhi kheti Kari nahi toh aap kaise bol sakte hai farming ke baare mei, ye toh galat hai, jis tarah aapne apne video mei kaha tha ki acharya prashanth ne shadi nahi ki toh, kaise bol sakte hai shadi kr bare mein. Issi tarah phele kuch farming ke concepts dekhiye phele like permaculture, zero budget natural farming & avartansheel kheti uske baad aapki soch badal jayegi farming ko lekar.

How about cost of living in a self sustaing farm post retirement. The cost of living will drastically reduce. It should not be as bad as you tell. Of course it is not easy, but is it worth it ...thats the question. Self susatainibility is probably the key.
