Except where , and may have been the case with the black car at the beginning , the cyclist was also turning left and had signalled his intention to do so - then it can be OK for another road user to safely turn left with them , road width permitting . However , cyclists catching up with already left turning vehicles and trying to pass to their left is just plain suicidal , as well as wrong .

Sometimes as cyclist you should hold the middle of the road for your on safety. At the point where the road narrows to be exact as you approach. A lack of confidence as a cyclist on the road is going to see you continue to have to deal with these issues.
Holding the middle of the lane will be mandatory from 29/01/22 and cars must give cyclists a minimum of 1.5 metres distance when overtaking, these are some of the new rules being introduced giving cyclists priority over cars on UK roads.
@2:32 in these situations I always signal to the right to show I’m gonna be taking the lane so cars cannot pass. Also where I’m from, there are signs a few meters before the crossing that say “No passing, here to crossing”
Hah, I was once (like 4 years ago) riding my bike on a road where they recently installed zigzags to slow down the traffic (bridge going over the highway). There was a woman in a car racing up behind me at 40mph, and I knew that she would be trouble. So when I was at the zigzags (4 meters wide) I just rode my bike in the middle, she started honking, cursing, swearing at me. They just don't care at all. I drive a car now, and there's absolutely no way I would be driving this careless and reckless. I just can't understand why these people are allowed on the road

I don't know how it is in your country, but this is part of the reason I ride on the sidewalk when I'm getting around town, USA. Can't trust these dummies to always see me
I'd like to make a comment from the standpoint of a driver. I drive a shuttle and I have to contend with cyclists a lot. I also ride a bike. In this video, I feel that the cyclist may not have been aware that the motorist has several blind spots in his/her vehicle. Also the driver has a full time job in paying attention to other drivers. Cyclists are not at the top of the list for being seen. The driver and the cyclist have to make snap decisions. I'll bet that the drivers cutting off the cyclist in the video did not see the cyclist. I saw that the cyclist may have put himself/ herself in harms way by riding between the line of cars and the curb. Believe me, the driver is not expecting this and may not see the cyclist. I would like to make the following suggestions for both the drivers and the cyclist. Slow down! Don't be aggressive. Expect that the drivers and the cyclists don't see each other. Don't take chances. Follow the rules for safe biking. Be visible! Be predictable in your riding. When I ride, I flow with the traffic. I don't take chances. I pretend that I am invisible and I don't expect the drivers to see me especially in heavy traffic. I absolutely do not go between the curb and the cars. I stay behind the car in front of me while waiting for a traffic signal. To sum all of this up, both the drivers and the cyclist have a responsibility to travel safely. The cyclist and the drivers are not in a war with each other. Know the issues for the drivers and the cyclist such as being seen and being predictable, and respect each other.
Inge Posch this guy's a fucking prick it's ok for him to pass on the inside but if somebody passes him on the outside it's the end of the fucking world run the bastard over
And only an arsehole would say that. If you don't know the kinetic energy difference between a cyclists and a vehicle then I suggest you go research it.
It is ,in fact, about "people don't care each other". Let them change the seats and they will be making a video about you. Drivers don't care for cyclists, cyclists don't care for pedestrians and red lights zebra crossings and so on. It depends if you are toughtful or not, otherwise it doesn't matter if you are cyclist or a driver.
So many wankers. Just getting back from a ride made this hard to watch (and kind of glad I don’t have a GoPro). Most of my ride was in a closed to cars park and I still had 3-4 incidents just getting there. I guess the big excuse is “traffic”, but most drivers never stop to think that they ARE traffic.
It's not universally true that all car drivers don't care for cyclists is it? I'm a cyclist and a car driver. The drivers you've filmed have probably never been on a bike in their lives. They're unskilled and thoughtless and would benefit from training, but let's not get bigoted and use sweeping statements...
Ohhhh you mean like the sweeping bigoted statements that come from car drivers about cyclists? It's about respecting all road users, giving space to vulnerable road users and to not put them in danger with pointless overtakes, pullouts or manoeuvres.
This is the only cyclist video on you tube that I agree with 100% . Drivers should be ashamed of themselves .What was impressive more than anything is your road position it wasn't invasive in the slightest you weren't blocking traffic causing a build up behind you and you were treated like that . They should all be on driver awareness courses
Most drivers are idiots. When I want to get past cyclists, I make sure I give them loads of space. I don't cut in when coming up to a junction, I let them go first.
Today a car of course a Kia flew past me way over the speed limit when I was going the speed limit and they didn’t even go a lane over right beside me enough for me to be affected by all the air
Has always amazed me that cycle safety never teaches you to always be hovering on the brakes, like being a seasoned cyclist has done. Years of road riding has taught me all the little nuances and adjustments I have to make to my riding to stay safer (note that that's *safer* not *safe*). Hovering on the brakes is something I do habitually. It may not stop idiot drivers like these, but it might mean the difference between being angry and being dead. I cant count the number of times inner-city riding has resulted in me almost catapulting myself over the bars because I've had no option but to slam the brakes on as hard as I can or try a 1-round knock-out match with whatever great gangly pillock brained muppet faced arse wipe has carved me up like christmas dinner in his great lumbering 4x4 mega super turbo charged mountain expedition. God I hate those types. Bullies in big cars. Well the jokes on you oil for blood, because I'm already home while you're still stuck in traffic averaging 2 mpg
I so wish the day will come when the police see fit to set up some sort of system where this footage can be submitted and drivers can be fined and given points for their dangerous driving. People's lives are at risk. This needs to be taken seriously.
Where's the 'strongly agree' button for this survey? I'm a cyclist, and I drive. Most other cyclists I meet have pretty much zero regard for any rules of the road (they cross white lines, they go past stop lines, they don't signal, the use the sidewalk as much as the road, and expect drivers to give them at least 12 feet when passing them). I'm embarrassed to be associated with them, and can understand why drivers (you know, the guys who have a license, insurance etc., and are required by law and have to take a test to prove that they understand what traffic lights, lanes, signals, road signs etc are for) get pi55ed when they see cyclists doing whatever they feel like, with no care or consideration for anyone else. Having no licence plates kinda means there's no impact to you of cycling like a knob. Besides, of many cyclists I've met, they're only cycling on busy roads at rush hour because they've been banned from driving, or can't drive (so either way, are a fuc**** danger to everyone else). I see far more Cyclists taking the pi55 than I see Cyclists following the rules - so, like me, get used to it.
@@davidparker9587 Ha Ha. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I ride because 1) I can 2) Sure beats sitting in traffic 3) It's one of the best exercises 4) Even with the V8 in the Jeep, a tank of gas lasts 2 months because I ride instead of driving everyday. In fact, with fuel close to $4 a gallon, I save $60 a week. Which means my $1500 bike paid for itself in 6 months. 5) I don't contribute to the traffic congestion during rush hour. 6) I'm not polluting the air as much. So, why don't you ride a bike?
I must be really lucky. I cycle nearly every day. 17ml town and country and I never ever get into confrontation with car drivers or any vehicles. Makes me wonder if some cyclists invite trouble just for their You Tube profile.
The turning left directly after passing is one of my pet peeves. I always make a conscious effort to check the indicator of any passing car when approaching a junction. With regards to the people pulling out in front of you. In some of the clips you shared you are in the wrong. If traffic is queued in front of you, you should assume one of the drivers will let someone out and ride accordingly. You did not slow down which in my opinion is foolish. Drivers who are flashed out won't be expecting a cyclist tearing up the inside so you really need to slow down in those circumstances.
It's still a give way so traffic should be making sure their exit is clear. It was not. Just because traffic has stopped and a driver has let them out they still need to check and give way

The cyclist and the drivers are not in a war with each other. Know the issues for the drivers and the cyclist such as being seen and being predictable, and respect each other.
stop hugging the kerb and take the lane at pinchpoints!
it is much safer to do so....

Bruce Hart he’s not passing on the inside the cars fucking cutting him up bellend!
No it does. One is driving a 1.5 tonne murder weapon, the other is cycling
Unfortunately encounter this behaviour far too often
As soon as i saw the first car overtake i thought well that seems familiar.
Didn't the cyclist ride through a red light at the start?
Today a car of course a Kia flew past me way over the speed limit when I was going the speed limit and they didn’t even go a lane over right beside me enough for me to be affected by all the air
it was better without music with just ambient noises. Pity.
Wow! There were some er..beauties there alright.
it's like a jungle out there
Listen! Jungle drums! What they say?....Boom da boom boom da dum boom!
Well that's not really fair, is it? They usually get at least 3 mpg.
Nice comp!
Thanks
All in 4.21 minutes of riding your bike, must be the most unluckiest cyclist out there, 😳
That black merc…I would have been unable to stop myself from getting off my bike and having words. As a minium the video should go to the police.
Cracking compilation
Driver's don't care for most road users, not just cyclists.
I so wish the day will come when the police see fit to set up some sort of system where this footage can be submitted and drivers can be fined and given points for their dangerous driving. People's lives are at risk. This needs to be taken seriously.
So do I, then half these Lycra wearing twats with absolutely no road sense will be taken off the roads for good.
A lot of them have more road sense compared to the ignorant twatty drivers
you would be surprised the road sense you develop when your not sitting in a metal bubble in your own little world
Shame that we can't do the same when you run red lights or even worse under take someone on a horse......
I think cyclists should pay road tax like any other vehicle...
Yeah big cap, jp
That musics frightening
Yeah 😁, so is the driving 😂
Checking your mirrors is part of driving. They want taking off the road most of these idiots do.
Cyclists certainly don't give a shit about pedestrians!!!
'It doesn't matter how well you ride. It's how badly they drive."
Work harder, and get a car, haha

It was not. Just because traffic has stopped and a driver has let them out they still need to check and give way
Salford Cyclist - Takaeve fine have it your way dude, just some friendly accident prevention advice. Whether it's right or wrong, slow down, cover the brakes and expect someone to pull out, they invariably will.

Thanks. Ive thought about it but never wanted to actually do it :)
+Andrew Sykes i beg your pardon??
there are certainly cunts among cyclists, but there are also (quite a lot, actually) decent cyclists!
i'm a postal worker on a bicycle, so i'm used to make long hours on an overloaded "mule" (fyi, a mule is an old Gazelle bicycle with a frontrack and HUGE panniers on the back) on all kinds of residential streets...
at the start of the workday the back of my bicycle is as wide as a small car (like a "Smart") and i take up as much room as two cycles side by side.
when i start my day's work i have to cycle to my section to start my round which is about 1 1/2 mile from the point where i pick up the mail. at that very same time the middleschool kids cycle to their schools and i'm sometimes being held up by them, not as much as in the begining for they know by now that i'm not very kind to groups that think they can take up as much space as they want. in the Netherlands you don't want to hit a cyclist with your motorised vehicle for you get punished for it! cyclist on cyclist collissions are looked at the same as a car on car collission. so i can wipe out the cunts without much problems as long as i take care that i'm the one following the trafficrules, and beliee me, i do! trafficfines are high here, so i don't want to be ticketed....
the motorists here are far better behaved then the ones in the UK, but i think that that has to do with the high fines and the, far better, policing on our roads. but i occassionally do meat some pillocks behind the wheel...
all over Europe?
i bet you haven't been in the eastern part, in comparison the UK motorists are well behaved....
i have a nephew in Estonia and i don't want to ride there, not even on my strongest mule! i don't like to drive there either unless i have a tank of a car to do it with...
you can shit in your pants there, even as a pedestrian....
on a bike I would have taken more than mirrors off
Thats the reason time, I find that some drivers will wait if there are not in a hurry then its cyclists beware
Car drivers need to remember you go to prison for man slaughter never damage a car .but if the fattys jump out too scrapping the it's on and we are most likely in much better shape . I think have man slaughter is a crime might make some think
Tell me again why cyclists are aloud to cycle next to a 1 ton to 35 ton vehicle...and risking there own death because they say I pay taxes.
There are times when the lane narrows that you need to claim the lane . I have to say that the road layout is very cycling unfriendly and encourages motorists to overtake where the road narrows.
Some shocking but common place examples of really bad, dangerous and selfish driving.
Lol whats with the drums?........
Yes, shit road layouts, and shit driving, making the roads a dangerous place for cyclists. They are literally trying to force us off the roads.
What's the big deal here!!!!!????? Nothing happened to the bi-psycho-lists!!!!!
