SK-1 sounds are etched in my brain since 1988.
very fluid and care free vibes. Nice music. make what comes to you as natural. We're all natural beings don't fight it.
the EQ'd piano sound is absolutely beautiful. who needs to spend loads of money on "real" pianos wjen you've gpt something that sounds that good? down with gear elitism and up with lo-fi experimentation imo
lofi is for deaf people.
Fun SK -1 trick without solder or twisted genius brain: Start with a looped sample… turn vibrato on and off.. the loop either drops from super sped up to normal in about two seconds, or builds up to normal from super slowed down .. about 20 seconds and krazy f’ed up
Hey Simon when I first saw your videos i thought you were AF, but after sometime you've grown on me. I think you are really doing something great here. Incorperating circuit bent instruments in banging tracks and showing people how easy it is, is really something your good at. Keep up the great work and someone should make a sticker "I can fix that....in my DAW"....lol
I like the vibe with this one, well done buddy 👏 ❤
Amazingly chill vibe❤❤❤ Using pitch correction is just so genius!! I have to try it later to cover my keyboard playing😊
Superb ! U r squeezin so much soul outta that sk1… lovely vibez… more plz
Special sounds man! I really want an SK-1 and get back into bending, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked. I would love to hang with you at least once before my meat machine is permanently parked in an underground garage. I need someone to really show me how to move clips in my DAW. I never feel like I'm doing it right and I think that's whats been missing all these years. But seriously, I really dig your style mans! This is the music that music listens to... er something.
sounds lovely
Fresh air music! Lovely as usual!
another DAW hot tip, for free: if a track is too loud or too quiet, you can change the level of it. then it will sound just right.
💀💀💀
Just commenting so I get the notification when someone comments how it's way more complicated than that to try and make themselves feel smart
we're talking about simon, man.
Very relaxing sounds, and also very trippy! The track makes me think of lying on a fluffy white cloud, gently floating across the sky with other chill people also floating on their clouds, and with the aroma of joss sticks adding to the chill out vibe. Maybe it's a certain type of "cloud" we are all floating on (ahem!) Love the way you found and made such musical bends with your SK-1 :-)
we all float down here!
cool
I'm dubbing the genre "Fluid Wave"
@@FrequencyOfThought peak genre name
that synth is not allowed to mix so well with everything!
I know you are a Casio bending addict, but really you need to graduate to more powerful toys. My advice to that end? Buy yourself a Yamaha VSS-30, and create as many useful bends as you can find. 😉 My first sampler ever, was the VSS-30, which my mom bought me for my birthday, in the mid 80's when it came out. The SK-1 will always remind me of Homestar Runner.
VSS-30 is almost bent from the factory :D That Frequency Modulation.....
Yeah always wanted a vss-30! One day. It will be a greaaat day 😁😁
I thought the Casio famously "featured" in Homestar Runner was the VL-1 (aka VL Tone)? Strongbad - "My head will be an old keyboard, and when I get mad, it plays the demo tune"!
@@SimonTheMagpie I hope you find one soon, man!!! I'm super interested in what bends you'll find in there! I have a crazy feeling it's probably full of many possible useful bends. I sure wish I hadn't sold mine to a friend so many years ago. Like I said, it was my first sampler ever, and I've had a bunch, at this point. Just finally invested in 1010music's Blackbox kinda recenly. I finally figured out how to replace Ableton Live, but in a very minimal, portable way, while still being quite powerful. My No.1 sampler from 2001, to 2014, was Ableton. I went back to completely DAWless in 2014, but within in a few years, realized I needed something like Blackbox, to bring everything together into songs. It seems to work really well! In a way, Blackbox reminds me of my old VSS-30. 😁
@@ChasD The SK-1 was definitely used in HR.
Ethereal 🎶 😮
