I am really enjoying the beautiful machine that the Speed 400 is. My one and only grouse is the engine stalling at low speed (usually 2nd gear), that Bajaj has still not been able to resolve despite multiple ecu updates...
I've always been confused looking at this bike. I've been under the assumption it's a retro 390 duke (fast and sporty), but instead it's more like a single cylinder Enfield 650? Also, should confident newer riders just shoot for the Trident 660?
I was surprised myself because I also expected a sportier bike especially since the Speed 1200 definitely is very capable. Comparing this 400 to the 650 Enfields definitely makes sense. I'd classify it as a relaxed Retro bike. It's somewhere between RE Classic 350 and the RE Interceptor although the Triumph is way more agile than both REs.
