Pro tip on webbing: instead of punching a hole (which will sever the fibers,) use an awl to push the fibers aside. The opening you make won't look as elegant as a punched hole, but it will be much, much stronger.
Great to know!
A three part video in just 20 minutes (instead of three separate ones), that's honesty and respect for your viewers. Much appreciated!
And the project is awesome a usual 🤟🏼
The felt just adds that extra something to this project. Watching till the end made me realize you could've possibly used the table extension as storage also :o
I didn't think about that. That would be cool! Although these table extensions (I just showed one but there are two) are pretty heavy already, with the height of the stool pieces it might become difficult to move around. Your idea is pretty cool to rethink the hole thing and combine both worlds.
Cristiana, you call this a SMALL project? That's a big one to me!
That's really cool and love the hard hard you work on these projects. I was really impressed. I know you can do this without a CNC but man, a CNC is pretty cool.
A very clever build. This is what cnc machines excell at. If gloves give you a more secure grip then they are actually more safe than without. Many safety guides place those rules in for their own liability issues. Tight fitting gloves have saved my hands from injury many times. Keep up the great content
Emphasizing the screwhole-plugs with the same red dust-board material is a nice personal touch. Thanks for sharing!
Happy to know you appreciate the details too :)
Very nice! For me it would be perfect if the table extension would function as the case for the stools. You normaly need the stools and the extension at the same time and if you don't need them it would save even more space only hiding one box.
Very cool idea!! I didn't think about that and for my specific case it would become too heavy to move around (the extension is quite heavy - solid maple and 2 steel bars underneath) BUT this would be a very interesting project to develop!
I had the same thought!
You are so talented!!You turn the Ordinary into Extraordinary!!!my admiration goes to you,Cheers from Toronto Canada!
As usual, Cris, your design sense and choice of materials have produced objects that are a perfect blend of function and appearance. I would also like to call out that your editing skills (slipping in and out of time-lapse, choice of camera angles, etc) go a long way toward making your videos easy to watch - they're never boring!
Thanks for the video. I'm always happy to see Get Hands Dirty in my feed.
Happy to hear that! Thanks John!
This is the most consistently great maker channel. 👍
Wow, thanks! :D
Except from the skillful craftsmanship both in the stools and the video, you always have a great taste! Thank you, Christina, greetings from Athens, Greece 🌞
really elegant design
The carrying/storage case is a really nice touch!
Great job, the stools are looking very nice and the case where they fit in is great, too
Thanks Joe!
I love the way you make everything look so nice. The felt on the inside of the box with the elastic strap coming through a slit was a great detail.
And your pointing out chair strength in one direction to a greater extent than the other added to the presentation.
Love those stools, and what a case! Gorgeous colour. It's always a good day when one of your new videos drops.
Glad you like them! :)
That’s a cool project. It made me think about squaring all these round corners. Every woodworker with a CNC has to do this. There should be some kind of tool that can do this.
There are probably other ways. Thinking about it or making jigs felt like taking longer than using the chisel. Maybe next time I'll do some research. Thanks for stopping by!
Such an elegant design and storage box. Both are a visual and functional delight. Thanks Cris.
Your design is spot on as always.
very cool idea
You are a maestro of dust free workshop.
Ahahah or so it seems in the videos :P
@@GetHandsDirty Always inspiring, nonetheless - (thank you).
You are an amazingly talented person, I so admire your skills!!!! 😍Hugs from Ireland 😘
Thank you so much!
Beautiful build Cris! I love your solution with the carrying case - the contrast of the red stools against the other materials is stunning! Really elevates the aesthetic of what could be a boring box. On the stool seats - you might want to consider adding metal locator pins that the seat can “seat” on to. That way if the vaulcromate (sp?) joint opens up over time, it will still hold the seat in place. Also the pins should relieve side pressure against the notched material, preventing cracks or breaks. Beautiful work as always Cris!
Thanks a lot! It's Valchromat. I see what you mean, but since the corners of the stools have those "hooks" they keep the top in place even if the grooves below get worn out. Unless the hooks break...that would be a problem indeed. But adding pins to the stretcher would definitely be a plus!
beautiful work as usual! I was half hoping that you were going to mass produce and sell them 😁
Ahah that's an idea! xD
Great, as always. I really like the box design. Remembering to pre-cut the felt and fitting it to the elastic must have felt good 😊
Ahaha true! The stools had some previous thoughts to them, but the box was made on the go, so I was actually pretty happy to get to the end without any stupid mistakes :D
Cool stools... Nice job on the holder/case too.
I wish Valchromat was common in the States. I’d love to be able to simply purchase some locally.
Terrific storage case... colors are so subtle and the functional strap so robust. Nice, nice job.
Nice project; the stools (and mini stools) look great.
Really brilliant idea, love the box for them.
Inspiring as always. Just watching the order of operations in lining the box was a lesson itself.
Thank you! That was made on the go, and I am proud of how the elastic and felt came out. :D
Great film. Super build. Design and fabrication is top notch. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🙏❤️
Cristiana, that is an ingenious design!
Very cool design! I also appreciate how clean and efficient you designed the storage. Excellent video.
14:22 Coat the wooden threads with CA glue, let that dry, then recut with the tap and the threads will be incredibly durable.
It coud be the perfect design if the box are the table extension... May be another time.
Fantastic. I love the red. Really simple materials but the end product is really cool and technical.
I rarely use this color but it's pretty fun, indeed!
Those red dials are groovey
Hi, did you consider making the case a table? Maybe making the case a little bigger with fold down legs. It would be great for a take along table and chair set, say if you are camping.
That's a very cool idea! Didn't think about that, but it would be fun to design and build something combining seats and a lightweight table.
Very cool! Also I love your hair!
Thanks 😅
Love this! The red Valchromat looks awesome too! thanks for sharing :D
Great Project
wow soooo great design. nice👍💪 THX🍀🍀🍀
No BOOOM today? 😉
Fantastic work here!
Thanks a lot!
Stunning, Cris! Really amazing work! 😃
I loved the idea of the felt! I guess I'm going to build some cat boxes with it! 😂
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Ahaha, go for it! Glad you enjoyed this one!
Amazing job from start to finish! Bravo!
Great video Cris!

Love it ❤👍 Great job Kris
Great idea as always great job keep up the great work
Genial, muy lindo el diseño, gracias por compartir tus proyectos...saludos desde Chile🇨🇱
Muchas gracias!
New subscriber here, you were featured on Theawesomer :) What a great idea and fantastic execution for the case!
Very beautiful 😊
Awesome!
This is really awesome!! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully I can make one like yours.
OMG it is as ingenious as beautiful
Cool project, Cris, congratulations! I am not a fan of threading metric directly in wood, I always use 4 pronged T nuts or threaded inserts for blind holes.
Grandios!
Very nice! 😊❤
Those round overs coul also be done with the Cnc if you are doing true 3d design
Good point, although that round over is in the opposite face of the grooves cut by the CNC, so I would need to flip it over and for such a simple job I don’t think it would be worth spending time in alignment. You can surely do that though!
Beautiful, great job!
No boom? 😳
como sempre um projeto incrível, com muito detalhes lindos! parabéns demais!
Здравствуй Крис , отличный проект.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 great!
Que hermoso te quedo todo😊😊❤❤
Magnifique ❤
Red MDF ? Where did you get that?
It's called valchromat. Google it and see if you can find it near you. It comes is various colors and it's denser and higher quality than regular brown MDF.
Where can i find the join clips that you used?
These are from Rockler. Search for Clamp-it Clips
Cool!
Patent it!
wow, love the colours and the design! what kind of finish do you use to bring the colour out of the valchromat? (I'm in portugal too! 👋)
I’m guessing it’s not guac 😂
Hey, thanks! This was a hardwax oil called Rubio monocoat
What type of oil or wax do you use for Valcromat?
Thank you very much for your fantastic videos, I watch and reconsider them with great pleasure, keep it up
Awesome work, as always. 👍 Where did you get those corner clips?
They're from Rockler.
@@becomingjoana yes but they are unavailable on polish market. 😒
Beware using gloves in table saw!! Btw, what's the brand and model of the table saw?
You missed the BOOM
What is this reddish sheet material called?
what type of varnish is used over valchromat?
It applied a hardwax oil
Wait! WHAT!?!????
It took FIFTEEN HOURS to set up!?!????????
Do you find it too much or too little? I didn't quite get that. I'm sure there are people who can assemble this CNC kit in just 8 to 10 hours, though.
@@GetHandsDirty oh. I guess I really had no idea that it would take that long to set one up. I was shocked.
No "BOOM!" 😢 It shouldn't matter but it does
1:10 you said you spent 15 hours to put it together, is that correct or just a typo? :)
It's correct. From opening the packages to fully assembled and ready to cut. I'm sure other people can do it faster in maybe 8 hours and with a second person it would go even faster I suppose. 1 day assembly is pretty common for CNC assembly kits... I don't work "fast", anyway :)
Colored what? Aniea? Trying to look up this material you use so often…
*cool*
